My Child and I Married a Billionaire

Chapter 452: Who Are You Cursing At?

As he spoke, he bent his elbow, about to smash it against the black car’s window. Terrified the driver would jump out and start a brawl with him, Amina let out a scream and ran over.

“Don’t! Zeke, don’t do this! Don’t hurt yourself! Please, get down. We can talk this out calmly!”

‘Talk this out calmly?’ Zeke looked at her helplessly.

“Would you really talk things out calmly? Besides coddling me, lying to me, and hiding things from me, what else are you willing to say? If I didn’t do this, wouldn’t you have already run off again?”

“I…”

Terrified he would get hurt, Amina apologized frantically.

“I was wrong. I was wrong. I shouldn’t have lied to you or hidden things from you. I should have been honest with you. Please come down. I won’t run away. I’ll stop doing deliveries. Let’s go. We can find somewhere private to talk, okay?”

‘No!’

She still hadn’t answered his question, so Zeke absolutely refused to come down.

“Answer my question first. Did you break up with me because my mom pressured you, or have you really fallen for someone else? Tell me the truth!”

Amina was so frantic she was on the verge of tears.

“How could I possibly fall for someone else? I spend every day with you. You know exactly how many people I have in my phone and how many people I know in real life, don’t you? Zeke, I…”

Amina couldn’t bring herself to confess any more of her feelings. With so many people staring, just saying that much had already pushed her past her breaking point.

Having heard the answer he wanted, and seeing how distressed she was, Zeke finally jumped down from the car.

“I knew you wouldn’t betray me. I knew it. Come with me!”

Zeke’s despondence vanished. Overjoyed, he grabbed Amina’s hand and led her back to his own sports car.

Watching the toppled electric scooter and the departing sports car, the driver of the black car was furious.

“What the hell, you’re just leaving? Hey! You’re just going to walk away after standing all over my car? Where did this rich little prick come from? Think you’re hot shit because you have money?!”

Fortunately, Faye Fisher emerged from the crowd and patted the driver on the shoulder.

“I’m his friend. Whatever compensation you need for your car, I’ll discuss it with you.”

It was as if the two of them had gone back in time. Zeke eagerly took Amina back to his place.

It was the villa where they had stayed together before. Zeke had since had a complete set of furniture delivered, and the house was now tidy and welcoming.

He pulled Amina through the door, pushed her against it, and trapped her in his embrace.

“Tell me! What did my mom say to you? Did she intimidate you? Is that why you left me? How could you be so foolish? Haven’t I made my feelings for you clear enough? Why didn’t you just tell me the truth? As long as I’m here, I will never let you be mistreated—not even by my own mother. No one gets to mistreat you! Why don’t you trust me?”

Hearing his words, Amina felt nothing but a wave of happiness, deeply touched.

‘She had guessed right. The Zeke she loved was a good man, a responsible one.’

‘No matter what anyone else thought, he was truly and completely devoted to her.’

Amina didn’t want to speak ill of Mrs. Walton. She truly didn’t want Zeke to get into a conflict with his mother on her account.

“Can we not talk about that? Let’s just let the past be the past, okay? I’ve missed you so much, Zeke. Did you miss me? Will you hold me?”

Amina rarely spoke like this. In fact, this was likely the first time she had ever said something so heartfelt.

How could Zeke not have missed her? He had been going crazy thinking about her. He pulled her tightly into his arms.

The two clung to each other tightly, as if they hadn’t seen one another in several lifetimes, wishing they could meld their bodies into one.

“Do you even have to ask if I missed you? If I didn’t, would I have gone through all this trouble to see you, again and again, just to bring you here to spend the night? I was going out of my mind missing you. You have no idea how I’ve been getting by. Amina, don’t ever do this again, okay?”

“No matter what happens, tell me immediately. Trust me, I can handle it. Just don’t leave me again. Otherwise, I’ll really lose my mind. Okay?”

Amina threw all of Mrs. Walton’s warnings to the back of her mind.

At that moment, there was nothing in the world she cherished more than Zeke’s embrace.

She refused to think about anything else, simply nodding desperately in his arms.

“Okay, okay.”

Zeke lowered his head to find her mouth as she tilted hers up to meet his. Their lips quickly found each other.

For the first time since they’d come of age, they were together without worrying about pregnancy.

That night, Amina didn’t go home, and she didn’t call her grandmother.

She and Zeke were like two people gone mad. There was no room in their minds for anything—or anyone—but each other.

They came together again and again, tireless, until noon the next day, when Mrs. Walton received a tip and personally came storming to the door.

‘She was furious enough to explode.’

She had put so much thought and effort into keeping them apart, devising countless plans. Time and time again, success had seemed within her grasp, only for some new mishap to occur.

‘She had only just started to relax for two days. The butler had just told her the situation was handled, and what does Amina do? She pulls a stunt like this, going straight back to the villa with Zeke! This was going to be the death of her!’

‘It looked like she had no choice but to have a direct confrontation with her son.’

DING-DONG!!!!!

She mashed the doorbell.

Upstairs, the two of them were nestled under the covers, sleeping soundly in each other’s arms, when the doorbell began to ring relentlessly.

Amina was the first to wake up. She nudged Zeke.

“The doorbell’s ringing. Is it a friend of yours?”

Zeke didn’t care if it was a friend or not; he wasn’t afraid of offending anyone. He just pulled her closer into his embrace.

“It’s fine. Ignore it. What important business could they possibly have with me? Let’s get back to sleep.”

Amina didn’t want to leave his side either, so she snuggled deeper into his arms.

They had overexerted themselves the day before and were utterly exhausted. Just as they were about to drift off again, Zeke’s phone rang.

‘So damn annoying. I should’ve just turned it off last night.’

Zeke didn’t answer, but the phone kept ringing over and over. Finally, fed up, he snatched the phone and answered, his eyes still half-closed.

Thinking it was Brandon Jacobs or Wyatt Wynn, he started swearing the moment he picked up.

“Who the hell is this? Calling to wake the dead this early? Fuck, how annoying can you be?”

He was about to toss the phone aside when the person on the other end of the line responded with even more ferocity.

“Zeke Walton, this is your mother! Who do you think you’re swearing at? Open this door!”

Zeke hadn’t even reacted yet, but the shriek from the phone jolted Amina, and her eyes flew open.

“Your mom? Sh-she’s here? Quick, quick, wake up! Get up!”

Only then did Zeke listlessly lift his eyelids to glance at the screen. It really was his mother.

“Where are you? What do you mean you’re here? Open what door?”

DING-DONG, DING-DONG, DING-DONG!

Mrs. Walton mashed the doorbell a few more times.

“Where do you think I am?! Are you deaf, or are you trying to start a rebellion? Don’t play dumb with me and pretend you can’t hear! Get your butt down here right now!”

Zeke hung up the phone and sat up slowly. He glanced at Amina, who was now wide awake with fright, and pulled her back into his arms, amused.

“My mom isn’t some kind of monster. Why are you so scared of her? Relax. She’s actually a very open-minded and reasonable person. You two probably just had a misunderstanding before. There’s no need to be afraid.”

“Even if she hadn’t shown up, I was planning on taking you to see her today anyway. Things will be fine once we clear the air. I’m here, so you have nothing to worry about. Okay, Amina?”
