My Child and I Married a Billionaire

Chapter 394: Don’t You Regret It

Cecelia Archer chuckled at her words and went to sit beside her.

"How about I help you with that?"

"Oh, that would be great."

Faye Fisher didn’t hesitate, handing her things over while staring at Cecelia with wide eyes.

"You’re so beautiful. I pride myself on having seen plenty of beauties, but the moment I saw you today, I was just stunned. How can a couple as perfect as you two exist in this world? Veridia really is something else."

"Does saying all this make me sound like a country bumpkin? Like I’ve never seen the world?"

"Not at all. I think you’re very charming. And you’re beautiful too," Cecelia told her sincerely.

Faye Fisher propped a leg over hers, stretched out her arms, and wrapped them around her waist.

"I like looking at handsome men, but I like looking at beautiful women, too. To me, beauties and hunks are both essential pleasures in life. So can I get a little closer? You’re so pretty and soft. I really want to cuddle."

Perhaps this was the charm of a beautiful girl.

Because she was so pretty, no matter what she said or did, people would only find her endearing.

Cecelia didn’t mind her forwardness.

"If you want to cuddle, go ahead."

"I can’t even imagine how nice it would be to sleep while holding a beauty like you. What a shame I’m not a man."

Faye snuggled against her, sighing with genuine emotion.

"But it’s useless even if I were a man. Your husband is so handsome, I couldn’t compete with him. Can you tell me how long you’ve known each other? How did you meet? How long have you been married? I’m so curious about your love story..."

’Look at her, acting all wild and crazy out here. She’s been putting on that act for the Jacobs Family all day. It must be driving her nuts, right?’

Brandon Jacobs shook his head speechlessly and stood up to get Damien Vaughn’s attention.

"Wynn and Zeke Walton are still downstairs. Let’s head down."

「After Zeke Walton and Wyatt Wynn parted ways, Zeke went straight home.」

He’d assumed that after their huge fight and him storming out, Amina would be on the bed, silently crying her eyes out.

But when he got back and pushed the door open, not only was she not crying, she was bustling with activity.

She had packed all of her and her grandmother’s belongings into two large cardboard boxes and was currently squatting on the floor, taping them shut.

The housekeeper and her grandmother sat on the sofa like a pair of statues, watching him.

Zeke never expected such a humiliating scene to be waiting for him. The temper he had just managed to suppress on his way back instantly flared up again.

"What’s the meaning of this? Are you really moving out?"

When he had stormed out earlier, Amina had been worried about where he’d gone and if he’d be okay.

Seeing him return, she felt a sense of relief.

She wanted to talk to Zeke calmly, to get him to stop being so angry so they could part on good terms. So, she gently reached for him.

"Zeke, can we please just talk this out properly?

Come back to the room with me."

Zeke felt like a pathetic wretch, like a clown.

He treated her like the apple of his eye. His heart and mind were completely filled with her. He’d even planned out their whole future—how many kids they’d have, what their names would be. And now, after meeting up with some elementary school classmate, she was just going to throw him away!

’Talk it out properly? What’s there to talk about? She’s already taken things this far. What the hell is there left to talk about?!’

Zeke violently threw off Amina’s hand.

"Go back to the room for what? To compensate me? Take off your clothes, sleep with me one more time, and pretend you’re enjoying it just to please me? I never would have guessed, Amina. You’re a goddamn Oscar-winning actress! If you don’t like me at all, then why the fuck did you sleep with me?"

Amina was mortified.

In front of her grandmother and the housekeeper, her face flushed so deeply it felt like it was bleeding.

"Zeke, I..."

Zeke used to love seeing her blush, but now, he found it disgusting.

"They say all men are animals, that they’ll sleep with any woman who’s even halfway decent-looking, even if they don’t like her. I never thought you were an animal too! I must have been fucking blind. To think I actually considered coming back after all this..."

"Fine, I won’t say another word. You don’t have to finish packing. Just keep living here. I’ll be the one to leave. I, Zeke Walton, have never fucking taken advantage of a woman! Even though you were faking it when you were with me, the first time was real. This apartment is yours. Consider it compensation."

"Amina, you remember this: you will never meet a better man than me in this lifetime. You are my rock bottom, but I am your peak. Don’t you dare regret this later. Even if you do, even if you come begging, I won’t fucking give you a second glance."

With that, Zeke turned and left once again.

「With nowhere else to go, he returned to Club DL.」

He didn’t expect to see that old bastard Wyatt Wynn’s car at the entrance, too.

He tried to open the passenger-side door, but it was locked. He slammed his fist on the window a few times.

Wyatt Wynn was sulking in his car, smoking a cigarette. Hearing the noise, he turned to see it was Zeke and impatiently rolled down the window.

"Didn’t you leave? Why are you back?"

"I was about to ask you the same thing. Didn’t you leave? Why are you back? Or did you never even leave in the first place?"

Zeke got into the car. He had no idea how many cigarettes Wyatt had smoked, but the air was so thick with smoke it was like the car was on fire. The stench made him cough uncontrollably.

"Fuck, what the hell’s wrong with you? It’s like... COUGH, COUGH, COUGH. Weren’t you just laughing at us for being pathetic and stuck on love, acting like you were the only cool one? So why are you here all alone... COUGH, COUGH, COUGH. Stop smoking! Are you trying to fucking kill yourself with those things?"

Zeke was in a bad mood, but he wasn’t blind.

Wyatt Wynn clearly had something heavy on his mind. Zeke stuck his head near the open window for some fresh air and asked irritably.

"What’s wrong with you?"

Seeing how badly the smoke was affecting him, Wyatt Wynn calmly stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray.

"It’s nothing. What could be wrong with me? I’m asking you. Didn’t you leave? Why are you back?"

Zeke: "Don’t even ask. Fuck, I ran into an ungrateful bitch. I don’t want to talk about her... And stop pretending with me. You think I can’t tell when something’s on your mind? We’ve known each other for years. I know what you’re up to before you even do it. But hey, if you don’t want to talk, I can’t be bothered to ask."

He pushed the car door open and jumped out.

"Come on. Since we’re all in a shitty mood, let’s go back and keep drinking."

Damien Vaughn and Brandon Jacobs were coming down from upstairs just as the other two were heading in, arms slung over each other’s shoulders.

The four of them sat down on a sofa set. After a few drinks, Zeke Walton suddenly asked Brandon Jacobs,

"What were you going to say today? Oh, right, you’re getting married. When’s the ceremony?"

Brandon Jacobs: "We already registered. My dad’s situation isn’t great right now, so we’re not having a wedding."

"Fuck, you’ve already gone and quietly become a husband. Damn. Congratulations."

Zeke raised his glass to him. "Cheers to that."

Brandon Jacobs clinked glasses with him from across the space.

"No reception, but I need to go on a honeymoon. Seeing as you’re in a bad mood, want me to bring you along?"

Zeke was about to say no, but then he had a second thought. ’What’s the point of staying in Veridia?’

’Fuck, even with a few guys here to keep me company, my heart still aches like crazy. Once they leave in a couple of days, I’ll be running around like a headless chicken. Won’t I just die from misery?’

"Fine. But I can’t be the only third wheel. Wynn, you should go too. Fuck, you’re cooped up in the office all day, you must be bored to death. And you, Vaughn, aren’t you going to make it up to Cecelia Archer with a honeymoon? What are you waiting for? Screw it, let’s all go."
