My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 93: So Quick to Snatch Food
Wen Qian looked up and instinctively asked, "Say what?"
’If I say you’re cute, you get irritable,’ she thought. ’If I call you childish, you’d probably flip the table.’
"Just say anything..." Shen Mqing said, plopping down cross-legged on the sofa. He casually picked up an apple from the table, took a bite, and then clicked his tongue in disgust. "It’s so boring just sitting here."
"You could just go home and sleep..." Wen Qian said, looking exasperated.
"Absolutely not. Didn’t you hear? The Young Master will be here in a bit," Shen Mqing said nonchalantly, shooting her a look.
’I have to get on Yin Zhi’s good side. That way, he won’t have people bring these damn apples next time.’
’I’m from the Tiger Clan! I love meat! Can’t the guy just cater to my tastes for once?’
Wen Qian wanted to ask him what Yin Zhi’s arrival had to do with anything, but she managed to hold her tongue. She was starting to think Shen Mqing was a bit of a motormouth.
Just as she was thinking this, her phone suddenly buzzed.
Wen Qian opened the message. It was from Yin Zhi.
Yin Zhi: Qianqian, turn off your phone for now.
Yin Zhi: We’re almost there.
Wen Qian texted back "Okay" and turned her phone off. As she looked up, her eyes met Shen Mqing’s bright gaze.
"A message from the Young Master?" Shen Mqing leaned forward a bit more, but he couldn’t see anything. Seeing Wen Qian nod, Shen Mqing spoke again, "Can you ask him to bring me some KFC?"
Wen Qian: "...?"
Wen Qian looked at him, speechless.
Shen Mqing’s eyes darted away, and he gave a couple of awkward coughs. "It’s not that I’m craving it. I just figured you must be hungry, too... How about this: you get him to bring me a family bucket, and I’ll tell you an embarrassing story from his childhood."
"Why don’t you tell him yourself?" Wen Qian didn’t reject Shen Mqing outright.
Shen Mqing pouted. "That’s none of your business."
’You think I don’t want to?’
’It’s just that Yin Zhi would never agree. He’d just tell me to get lost...’
At that, Wen Qian decided to ignore him.
’This kid isn’t just childish,’ she thought, ’he’s got a real punchable way of talking. Asking for a favor with the attitude of a lord... What a pipe dream.’
Shen Mqing was engrossed in a mobile game when Ling Xuan brought out the noodles. He didn’t even lift his head at the fragrant aroma.
Wen Qian took the chopsticks Ling Xuan handed her and poked the crispy, golden-brown fried egg on top, her expression slowly relaxing.
Shen Mqing hadn’t been hungry before, but after finishing a round of his game, he looked up and saw Wen Qian eating with such gusto that he couldn’t help but gulp.
After a moment’s thought, he decided to play it cool. He turned his head and shouted to Ling Xuan, "Hey! Where’s mine?"
Without even looking up, Ling Xuan took his own bowl of noodles and sat down to eat by himself.
Shen Mqing bristled. "Hey! I’m talking to you!"
Ling Xuan didn’t give him an inch. "If you want some, make it yourself."
Ling Xuan only listened to Yin Zhi. Of course, if Wen Qian made a request of him, he would most likely listen, too.
But this young master of the Shen Family... Recalling Yin Zhi’s usual attitude toward him, Ling Xuan pursed his lips.
Besides, he was the one who said he wasn’t going to eat.
Shen Mqing was infuriated by Ling Xuan’s indifference.
Forget about cooking; he had never even touched a dirty bowl or a pair of chopsticks in his entire life.
A trace of confusion flashed in his eyes. After a long moment, he couldn’t help but look over at Wen Qian. "Can you finish such a big bowl?"
Wen Qian wasn’t very hungry to begin with, and the portion Ling Xuan had prepared was truly generous, so she gently shook her head.
At the sight, the man’s eyes lit up with joy. He leaped off the sofa and ran straight for the kitchen. After rummaging through a cabinet for a bowl and chopsticks, he trotted back to Wen Qian’s side. "Then I shall graciously help you with some of that..."
Before he even finished speaking, the man had already lifted half the noodles from Wen Qian’s bowl.
Wen Qian was stunned by his fluid, seamless movements; she clearly hadn’t expected him to snatch food so naturally.
And so, this was the scene Yin Zhi walked in on.
His first instinct upon entering the villa was to find Wen Qian, but his gaze fell on Shen Mqing instead, and his face instantly darkened.
He was about to speak when he saw Shen Mqing holding chopsticks and scooping noodles from Wen Qian’s bowl. His entire face turned black. "Are you trying to die?"
At the same time, Chi Heng and Chi Ye also walked in, one after the other. When Chi Heng saw Shen Mqing, his brow furrowed imperceptibly, but he ultimately said nothing.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, what’s with that look..." Shen Mqing quickly backed away. Then he pointed a finger at Wen Qian. "She can’t finish it! I was just kindly helping her out."
"You’re not needed." Yin Zhi snatched his bowl and chopsticks and, right in front of him, devoured the noodles he had just taken. Then his gaze fell on Ling Xuan, who was getting up. "Take him to sleep."
"You can’t do this—"
Before Shen Mqing could finish, Ling Xuan grabbed his arm and dragged him to the second floor of the villa.
And you know, it’s a funny thing... though Shen Mqing looked fierce, his actual combat strength was the weakest among all the Shen Family siblings. He, however, was completely oblivious to this fact and always put on an arrogant front.
After Shen Mqing was gone, Yin Zhi’s expression finally softened. Ignoring everyone else’s gazes, he snuggled in close to Wen Qian and naturally rested his head on her lap.
He looked up at her, his long eyelashes fluttering, and said in a very soft voice, "Qianqian, I’m tired."
Wen Qian was used to him acting this way. Her fingers naturally found his temples and began to massage them gently. He immediately let out a contented hum, and the tips of his fluffy ears popped out as if no one else was in the room.
Standing not far away, Chi Ye subconsciously glanced at Chi Heng, only to see him coolly turn his head away as if he hadn’t seen a thing.
’He looks just like a spurned concubine.’
Chi Ye snarked to himself.
’If I hadn’t noticed his clenched jaw and the way his lips were pressed into a thin line, I might have actually believed he didn’t care.’
"Are any of you hurt?" Wen Qian’s words were directed at Yin Zhi, but her concern was for everyone.
Yin Zhi snuggled deeper into her embrace, his voice lazy. "I’m hurt. Everything hurts."
Wen Qian subconsciously looked him over, but saw only a small scrape on the back of his hand. She patted Yin Zhi. "Get up for a second."
Only then did the man sit up straight, retracting his ears at the same time.
Wen Qian turned to look at Chi Ye and Chi Heng. Before she could speak, Chi Ye cut in, "I’m fine... but my dear nephew was already injured, and he just took another hit."
Chi Ye’s face didn’t show much emotion, but inwardly he was frantic. ’My dear nephew,’ he thought, ’why can’t you use that useless mouth of yours and speak up!’
Only then did Wen Qian remember that Chi Heng had gone through a beast fight before leaving the nightclub. She instinctively looked toward Chi Heng and saw a long, bloody gash on his forehead.
Sensing Wen Qian’s gaze, Chi Heng lowered his eyes. "It’s nothing."
"How can you say it’s nothing?" Chi Ye chimed in. He threw an arm around Chi Heng. "My dear nephew, you’re so badly injured it could affect your transformation later! How can you say it’s nothing..."
As he spoke, he winked and made faces at Chi Heng, deliberately ignoring the murderous glare from Yin Zhi behind them.
