My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 107: He’s About to Throw a Tantrum
Shen Mqing’s voice wasn’t loud, but Chi Ye, who had just returned, still heard him.
He rubbed his chin and leaned in. After glancing at the fried chicken on Shen Mqing’s plate, he pretty much understood why the guy had suddenly started acting like such a suck-up.
The kid had been clamoring for KFC ever since they arrived. Yesterday, before he left, the punk had even been secretly begging Ling Xuan for it.
’The young master of the great Shen Family, and this is all he aspires to?’
’But then again, what did he just say... Don’t tell me Wen Qian has another Beastman?’
’Doesn’t that mean my precious nephew has yet another rival!’
’No, this absolutely will not do.’
So, he reached out, grabbed Shen Mqing, and said with a grave expression, "My friend, I think your line of thinking is very dangerous!"
Wrenching his arm free from Chi Ye’s grasp, Shen Mqing shot him a contemptuous look. "Who’s your friend?"
’As a proud member of the Tiger Clan, I’d never befriend someone from the Wolf Clan.’
By now, Wen Qian had finished frying the eggs. Hearing Shen Mqing’s comment, she couldn’t hold it in and almost burst out laughing.
’Just great. He’s so punchable.’
Taking a deep breath, Chi Ye did his best to keep his expression natural. He forced a smile and tried to gently persuade him, "You can’t forget your original mission over a few pieces of fried chicken. This is a corruption of your very will... You only see that you’ve gained a few pieces of Original Recipe chicken, but do you have any idea what you’ve truly lost?"
Shen Mqing pondered for a moment before looking up with a resolute expression. "My troubles."
Chi Ye was speechless.
"PFFT." Wen Qian couldn’t help herself.
Chi Ye shot her a deep look but said nothing. He had no desire to speak to Shen Mqing any longer. The kid might look like an idiot, but he was actually incredibly sly.
Shen Mqing, for his part, clearly had no desire to deal with Chi Ye either, and he happily went back to gnawing on his Original Recipe chicken.
Once the sandwiches were ready, Gu Mian helped Wen Qian bring them to the table, then expertly worked the coffee machine to make a few lattes. Chi Heng sat on the sofa peeling an apple for Li Jiu; the two of them looked incredibly peaceful together.
It was almost nine o’clock, but the Little Fox still hadn’t come downstairs.
Worried his fever might have returned, Wen Qian decided to go upstairs and check on him. Before she left, she made sure to grab the sandwich she had just warmed up for him.
The room was warmer than the hallway. The Little Fox was sitting obediently on the bed, his two little paws resting naturally outside the covers. At the sound of the door, his ears twitched instantly.
The look he gave Wen Qian was first one of confusion, which then morphed into one of reproach...
"Oh, you’re awake..." Looking at the fluffy Little Fox on the bed, Wen Qian placed the sandwich on the nightstand. Still feeling a little worried, she leaned over and gently touched the tip of his nose.
It was still cool and damp to the touch.
’Looks like he’s really okay now.’
"Where did you go?" the Little Fox asked, wrinkling his nose. Beneath the covers, his fluffy tail thumped in displeasure.
"To make breakfast," Wen Qian said, glancing at him. Her mind flashed back to what happened yesterday, and she quickly looked away.
Kicking off the blanket, the Little Fox’s nose twitched a couple more times. Though he still had the face of a cute fox, his eyes held obvious displeasure.
Wen Qian reached out to stroke his head, but he easily dodged her hand. She looked at him, confused, only to see that his beautiful fox eyes had somehow grown shiny with unshed tears.
"What’s wrong...?" Wen Qian had no idea why the Little Fox was in such a mood. He’d been so affectionate yesterday.
"Don’t you know what you did?" the Little Fox glared at her.
Wen Qian looked completely lost. "Huh?"
’How am I supposed to know what he’s thinking?’
The Little Fox pouted, taking a long moment before finally saying, "You smell like another Beastman..."
Wen Qian froze for a second, but then it clicked. ’After breakfast, I did sit on the sofa with Gu Mian for a bit. Oh, right, Li Jiu and Chi Heng were there too...’
"You can tell that?" ’We only sat together for a little while, and he already noticed.’
’A Beastman’s sense of smell... is way too powerful.’
"So you admit it?" The Little Fox’s eyes widened in disbelief.
’Shouldn’t she be trying to explain herself or deny it completely right now?’
’She just... admitted it?’
"Yeah..." Wen Qian nodded. ’What’s the point in denying it?’ she thought.
’If there was anything she really couldn’t admit to, it would be making Original Recipe chicken for Shen Mqing...’
’That guy’s obsession with Original Recipe chicken is just too intense; he didn’t leave a single piece for anyone else. I’ve heard foxes love chicken more than anything. If the Little Fox finds out about this, he’ll definitely be mad.’
"Get out... I don’t want to see you." He squeezed his eyes shut, his foxy features scrunching up as he tried to hold back his emotions.
"Okay..." Wen Qian was a little baffled, but she agreed. She pointed to the nightstand. "Your breakfast is over there. Don’t forget to eat."
The Little Fox shot back, "It’s none of your business. I’ll just starve myself to death."
Wen Qian: "Wow..."
Wen Qian had no idea what she’d done to set him off.
’Maybe this is what they call being grumpy in the morning...’
Casually grabbing the bath towel that was draped over a chair and tossing it onto the bed, Wen Qian turned and walked toward the door.
Her soft, delicate fingers touched the cool doorknob, and she pressed down...
With a soft CLICK, the door opened a crack.
But in the next second, a pair of hands slammed the door shut. Before Wen Qian could even react, she was spun around and pinned against it.
"You’re actually leaving!" The stunningly handsome man’s eyes burned with anger as he glared at her, looking utterly wronged.
He had shifted into his human form, and so hastily that he hadn’t even had time to retract his ears.
Wen Qian stood frozen, her mind a blank. After a long moment, she frowned at him. "Weren’t you the one who told me to go?"
His pointed fox ears twitched twice. The Little Fox shot back, "So when I tell you to go, you go? Then how come you don’t listen when I tell you to stay away from other Beastmen?"
"You’ve never asked me to do that," Wen Qian retorted reflexively.
Her words made the Little Fox pause. A testing look flashed in his eyes. "Well, if I did ask, would you agr—"
"No," Wen Qian cut him off.
’She seriously suspected he was just trying to pick a fight.’
"See? See! All you ever do is lie to me..." His long, handsome fox eyes instantly grew moist.
In contrast to the Little Fox’s histrionics, Wen Qian seemed far more composed.
The Little Fox was much taller than her, so this whole time, she’d been staring at his chest.
She hadn’t noticed while they were bickering, but now that she had a moment to process, Wen Qian couldn’t help but feel her face grow hot...
His chest was covered in red marks. They had faded quite a bit since yesterday, but they still looked rather... alluring.
’Wen Qian felt she’d really had enough of herself. How could her mind be filled with such thoughts?’
’But her eyes still drifted downwards uncontrollably. He was the one who’d run over without any clothes on... so she couldn’t be blamed for whatever she saw!’
The next second, however, a hand pressed down on her head. The Little Fox’s cool warning came from above. "Keep looking... and you’ll have to face the consequences."
Some people are just naturally rebellious.
Wen Qian, for example.
Her eyes quickly darted downwards one last time before she looked up at him. "Okay, I’m done looking."
The Little Fox: "You..."
