My Cat Turned Beastman Won't Stop Kissing My Neck
Chapter 106: This World Has Finally Gone Mad
It took Wen Qian a moment to process what he meant. ’So, he’s just a straight-up racist, isn’t he?’
With this thought, Wen Qian couldn’t help but chuckle. "So, does that mean any other clan would be fine?"
"Other clans?" Shen Mqing was stunned for a second. A moment later, he shook his head forcefully. "No clan can compare to the Tiger Clan!"
The smile on her face froze instantly. The next second, Wen Qian rolled her eyes hard.
"Then what was the point of saying all that to me..." Wen Qian realized he wasn’t just targeting the Fox Clan; he looked down on every Beastman who wasn’t from the Tiger Clan with equal disdain.
Shen Mqing puffed out his chest defiantly. "Anyway, I won’t allow you to do this!"
"You’re nuts..." Shoving him aside, Wen Qian headed downstairs. She ignored Shen Mqing’s shouts and walked straight to the kitchen. Everyone else was still resting at this hour, except for her and Shen Mqing.
Wen Qian shot him a look, telling him to be quiet, then reached out and opened the refrigerator.
The refrigerator was packed with ingredients, looking like they had just been delivered in the last couple of days.
"Hey, are you making breakfast?" Shen Mqing sidled up to her.
Wen Qian didn’t answer his question, simply pushing his fluffy head away to signal that he should keep his distance.
Shen Mqing was not happy. ’She’s so friendly with the other Beastmen, so why is she giving me the cold shoulder?’
Looking at her tranquil expression, Shen Mqing ultimately kept his mouth shut. It wasn’t until Wen Qian took a box of chicken leg meat out of the freezer that he spoke up again. "Are you making fried chicken?"
’Who makes fried chicken this early in the morning...’
Wen Qian glanced up at him, suddenly remembering how this guy was always clamoring for KFC. She asked uncertainly, "What, you want some?"
Shen Mqing nodded frantically. As if picturing something incredible, he stared at the chicken in Wen Qian’s hands, his Adam’s apple bobbing. "Uh-huh, I want Original Recipe chicken."
Wen Qian recalled seeing a copycat recipe video for Original Recipe chicken on a video app. The method... was pretty simple. But thinking about how arrogant this guy had been earlier, she really didn’t want to make it for him.
"Oh. Then make it yourself." Wen Qian looked away and continued what she was doing.
"If I knew how, would I even need you?!" Glaring, Shen Mqing looked thoroughly incensed. ’Does this female have any awareness that she’s living under someone else’s roof? This is my family’s house she’s staying in!’
Seeing him angry only made Wen Qian want to ignore him more. She took out two kinds of vegetables from the fridge and slowly began to chop them with her head down.
Shen Mqing hovered in front of Wen Qian more than once, eventually resorting to making noise to get her attention. Annoyed by the racket, Wen Qian glared up at him. "What on earth do you want?"
The young man was startled by Wen Qian’s sudden outburst. He blinked, then gave an awkward cough. "I want to eat Origi—"
"Not happening." Wen Qian shot him a look. Then she decisively slammed her knife down on the cutting board. "If you want to eat it, make it yourself."
A flash of grievance flickered in his eyes as Shen Mqing stared at her. "I don’t know how..."
"Then don’t eat." Wen Qian suppressed her irritation. Her gaze swept coldly over his face, which was flushed red with embarrassment. "If you’re asking for a favor, you need to act like it. Don’t be so aggressive if you want someone to help you."
Shen Mqing was stunned by her suddenly stern tone. In his memory, aside from Yin Zhi, it seemed no one had ever scolded him so severely.
Not even his own sister, the Eldest Daughter of the Shen Family, who had always been so highly regarded by the clan.
For a moment, the young man was at a complete loss. He watched Wen Qian’s hands moving up and down with a strange expression, finally asking after a long pause, "What counts as a good attitude?"
Wen Qian almost laughed at his question, but thinking about his earlier behavior, she began to suspect he might genuinely be lacking in social graces. Letting out a long breath, she spoke to him as if teaching a child, "You can start by adding words like ’excuse me’ or ’please’ before you state your request. You should respect the other person’s wishes, try to be humble, and address them with a friendly and appropriate term, instead of just yelling ’hey’..."
"Otherwise, not only will people not help you, but they’ll also likely be cursing you out in their heads."
Shen Mqing was incredulous. "So you were just cursing me out in your head?"
Wen Qian shook her head. "No. I wanted to slap you."
Shen Mqing: "..."
The young man quickly took a step back. Yin Zhi had said that if Wen Qian lost even a single hair on her head, he would throw him into the river to feed the fish. This meant that if Wen Qian actually decided to get physical, he could only take the beating.
Shen Mqing didn’t dare to provoke Wen Qian. He shrank into a corner, his eyes darting around. After a long internal struggle, he sidled up to her again. "Please, Big Sis, can you help me make the Original Recipe chicken? I’m begging you."
Wen Qian: "..."
’This kid... learns fast, doesn’t he?’
Shen Mqing: "Excuse me, Big Sis, would you please help me make the Original Recipe chicken? I’m begging you, Big Sis..."
"..."
Worn down by Shen Mqing’s relentless pleading, Wen Qian prepared the ingredients with a frosty expression, then propped up her phone and started playing the recipe video.
’What was this, if not hoisting myself with my own petard?’
If she had known this kid was so "good at learning," she definitely wouldn’t have lectured him so much.
It was Wen Qian’s first time making a copycat Original Recipe chicken, so the flavor wasn’t a perfect match, but Shen Mqing was still ecstatic. Seeing the golden, crispy fried chicken, he was practically drooling.
The aroma wafted through the house, and before long, the other Beastmen started emerging one by one.
Although the taste of the Original Recipe chicken was a bit different from what he’d had before, Shen Mqing remembered what Wen Qian had said—that if someone helps you, you should express your gratitude no matter the outcome. He immediately broke into a brilliant smile. "Thank you for all your hard work, Big Sis."
Wen Qian felt like she had just been hit by a sugar-coated bullet. For a moment, she didn’t know whether to call Shen Mqing adaptable or just plain cunning...
Still, she couldn’t resist raising an eyebrow and teasing him. "So I’m not a player anymore?"
Licking the juices from the Original Recipe chicken off his fingers, Shen Mqing grinned cheekily. "From now on, you’re my god."
Wen Qian: "Slick..."
"Besides, it’s their own fault they couldn’t keep you," Shen Mqing added, taking another bite of chicken. Still not satisfied, he stared at the pieces still frying in the pot. "What does their uselessness have to do with you... Is this piece for me too, Big Sis?"
Wen Qian: "..."
Wen Qian felt her head buzzing. The world had finally gone crazy in a way she could never have imagined.
She sighed, speechless. ’If Yin Zhi knew this kid had abandoned his crusade for the Tiger Clan’s honor over a few pieces of chicken, he’d definitely throw him out...’
"It’s yours, it’s yours." Lifting another piece of chicken from the pot, Wen Qian speechlessly placed it onto the plate Shen Mqing held out.
