My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively

Chapter 728: It Was My Brother, Right?

  • Next Chapter

Based on what she knew about Dustin Hughes, who only played tricks and was driven by profit, he wouldn’t return to Narsus City to court death.

In her past life, the reason he managed to ruin things between Noah Drexler and her was purely because she was foolish enough to trust that so-called savior.

But now that she’s sobered up, Dustin Hughes no longer had any advantageous cards against Noah Drexler. Returning to Narsus City would be nothing more than walking into his own death.

Thinking of this, Summer Shawcross sighed. It seemed she was just sensitive about the name Dustin.

"Why are you still standing here?" A deep voice, accompanied by the sound of leather shoes hitting the floor, suddenly echoed in Summer Shawcross’s ears.

When she turned her head, she saw Noah Drexler had already come to her side, frowning as he looked at her.

He had been on the phone for two minutes, yet she was still standing there dazed at the door.

She hesitated for a few seconds before a spark went off in her mind, and she thought of a perfect answer.

"I wanted to wait for you so we could enter together." She smiled and softly said to him.

Upon hearing this, a flicker crossed Noah Drexler’s eyes.

"Silly woman!" He moved his lips, slightly disdainful, but there was an almost imperceptible trace of joy on his handsome face.

He suddenly lifted his large hand, wrapped it around her waist, and led her into the private room with him.

...

The environment inside the private room was excellent, with two transparent floor-to-ceiling windows that perfectly showcased the lights across the river and the scenery on the water.

Small boats moved leisurely on the river, lights aglow onboard, people sitting on the deck enjoying dinner and the view.

Everything seemed so peaceful and beautiful.

After Noah Drexler released Summer Shawcross, she slowly moved to the window and, gazing at the river scenery, softly said.

"It’s so beautiful, the scenery hasn’t changed at all; it’s just like it was ten years ago."

Footsteps were heard from behind as Noah Drexler joined her side.

"Ten years ago?" He squinted his eyes, asking her with interest.

Summer Shawcross nodded and continued.

"Hmm, ten years ago, my exam scores had improved significantly, so my brother took his allowance to secretly bring me here for a big meal; it was in this very private room."

Actually, her early understanding and feelings about Narsus City were all brought to her by her brother. When she was very young, he would always take her everywhere to eat good food and have fun.

However, every time they went home, her brother would get scolded for taking her out.

After hearing her words, Noah Drexler’s eyebrows couldn’t help but furrow, his heart feeling a slight discomfort...

Her words reminded him of Sean Shawcross’s gaze towards her...

To him, that was definitely not how a man should look at his sister.

Thinking of this, there was still some discomfort in his heart.

This feeling was strange, as if his precious treasure had been eyed by someone else, yet that person still had a deep bond with that treasure...

Just as Noah Drexler furrowed his brows, Summer Shawcross’s soft voice suddenly came through again.

"Noah Drexler, the one who poisoned me was my brother, right?"

As her words landed, Noah Drexler’s expression changed dramatically; he pressed his thin lips together, his handsome face incredibly serious.

Seeing Noah Drexler remain silent, Summer Shawcross’s gaze returned from afar. She turned her head, looking at the man beside her.
