Although spoken calmly, his words sounded incomparably cutting.

Inside the Owlship, Nite Owl's expression darkened. He had no idea how to refute him.

It was painfully accurate.

And painfully hurtful.

Silk Spectre patted Dan's shoulder and comforted him:

"Don't let his words confuse you."

"Failing to stop his scheme doesn't make you a bad person."

"At the very least, criminals still fear the owl that hunts within the darkness!"

Nite Owl was unable to answer, but at that moment, the unforgettable calm voice rang out once again.

"I'm disappointed in you, Adrian."

"Very disappointed."

Ozymandias abruptly raised his head toward the voice and saw an enormous Doctor Manhattan looking down at him!

Doctor Manhattan looked down at him.

"Did you truly believe that could kill me?"

"I have walked across the surface of the sun."

"I have witnessed events so small and so brief that they cannot be perceived within the macroscopic world."

"But you, Adrian..."

"You are only human."

"The smartest man in the world is no more threatening to me than the smartest termite."

Yet Ozymandias showed no fear. Instead, he produced a strange cone-shaped device.

"What is that?" Doctor Manhattan asked calmly. "Another one of your ultimate weapons?"

Ozymandias smiled.

"Yes."

"You could call it that."

As his words fell, he pressed the button. The countless monitors above them immediately lit up at the same time.

A news report was being broadcast across every screen:

"In response to Doctor Manhattan's evil actions, the United States and the Soviet Union have agreed to set aside their former hostilities."

"Together with the entire world, they will unite against their common enemy!"

"And this time..."

"Humanity will prevail!"
