"Do you mean even our Master Priest’s room isn’t available?" Sikong Qinglan, ultimately not hot-tempered, asked, suppressing his anger.

This is no longer a matter of saving money; it’s a matter of face. If even the dignified Master Priest comes to the Heavenly Sun Temple and has no place to stay, wouldn’t it be a laughingstock if word got out?

"None available. But if there really is nowhere to stay, I can try to negotiate with the priests below to see if they can accommodate. How about letting Priest Mu sleep on a floor mat?" Long Wucuo said with a teasing smile.

"What did you say?" Sikong Qinglan almost doubted his ears.

Let the dignified Master Priest squeeze in with others and sleep on a floor mat? This is blatant humiliation!

"Hmm, I also think it might not be feasible. It’s too disgraceful and inappropriate. How about you go find an inn yourself? Oh yes, seems like the Huayu Temple is short on money. Should I lend you some first?" Long Wucuo said sarcastically.

"Lord Long, what do you mean by this?" Mu Hanyan stared at Long Wucuo, his face frosty.

If it wasn’t clear initially, it’s now obvious. Long Wucuo is clearly humiliating them.

"How could I have any meaning behind it? Isn’t it clear enough? Either squeeze in with others to sleep on a floor mat or stay at an inn. If you don’t have money, I can lend you some. I’ve done my utmost to be benevolent. What more do you expect?" Long Wucuo smiled mockingly.

"Long Wucuo, you’re clearly making things difficult!" Shen Yuhe said angrily, placing his hand on the sword hilt.

Probably due to the recent ignition of violent factors within, this Right Priest with a baby face, looking like a girl-next-door, increasingly betrayed tendencies of a violent maniac.

"Words cannot be spoken lightly. Where did you infer that I’m making things difficult? Shen Yuhe, this is the Heavenly Sun Temple, not your rundown Huayu Temple. If you want to take action, you should weigh it carefully." Long Wucuo’s expression turned icy, stepping forward to look down at Shen Yuhe with threatening intent in his eyes.

"Shut up!" Hearing him insult the Huayu Temple, Shen Yuhe’s face flushed red with anger.

"Let’s go!" Mu Hanyan grabbed Shen Yuhe’s arm, gave Long Wucuo a deep stare, and turned to leave.

Sikong Qinglan glared fiercely at Long Wucuo and followed suit.

Behind them, Long Wucuo’s unrestrained mocking laughter echoed, accompanied by the loud laughter from several Priest Guards following behind.

"To even dare attend the deity ceremony without knowing their place; oblivious to how much they weigh in worth."

"They think the Huayu Temple is still what it once was. Even Lord Divine lets them fend for themselves; who would take them seriously anymore."

"Driving them away is actually for their own good. Truly, if they competed with various Master Priests, they wouldn’t even know how they died."

...

Behind them, more voices of ridicule came from several Follower Priests with Long Wucuo.

"This is too much!" Sikong Qinglan suddenly turned his head, but was pulled back by Mu Hanyan.

"Let’s go." Mu Hanyan said calmly.

"Master, they’re clearly humiliating our Huayu Temple." Sikong Qinglan said indignantly.

"I know, but what can you do? Kill him? Since they dare brazenly humiliate us, humiliate Huayu Temple, naturally they aren’t afraid we’ll make a move. They might even be hoping for just that." Mu Hanyan said indifferently, though inside, far from peaceful.

Facing such humiliation, while Sikong Qinglan was indeed angry, as the Master Priest, she was even more incensed, almost unable to resist acting a moment ago. However, something seemed amiss. Long Wucuo didn’t appear to be as foolish as Long Wudang. He should know the consequences of provoking them; why still do so?

Instinctively concentrating her Divine Sense to probe, Mu Hanyan gasped.

Around the temple’s corners, at least thirty priests were hidden. Although not extremely familiar with the cultivation levels of temple priests, comparing them to Wen Gaoren and Sikong Qinglan, she understood. Even the weakest ones were Level 8 Divine Priests; nearly half reached Ninth Rank, and a few even stronger — certainly Tenth Rank experts.

These individuals hid impeccably, some even disguised as civilians wandering around the temple’s vicinity, unnoticed by Sikong Qinglan and others, yet unable to escape Mu Hanyan’s powerful Divine Sense.

Mu Hanyan was sure that as soon as they made a move, these men would appear instantly, catching them off guard.

Sikong Qinglan shivered slightly, though somewhat naive and shy, wasn’t a fool. A brief change of thought made him realize Long Wucuo was deliberately provoking them.

"Indeed some capability; this time you were sensible." Mu Hanyan didn’t lower her voice when speaking, naturally caught by Long Wucuo’s ears, who smiled slightly and waved his hand.

Those priests hidden in the dark revealed their forms, several disguised as common folk tore off their disguises, revealing their Ninth Rank Divine Priest robes.

Sikong Qinglan, Shen Yuhe, and others inhaled deeply, finally understanding why Mu Hanyan restrained them. With their abilities, facing so many Level 8 and even Tenth Rank Divine Priests, they absolutely had no chance to resist, only awaiting slaughter.

"What a sinister thought!" Sikong Qinglan gritted his teeth. While in relief, felt a deep-seated hatred for Long Wucuo.

"Didn’t expect this fellow to become so despicable, so malicious. Thankfully, the Master saw through his scheme and didn’t fall for it." Shen Yuhe said, still afraid.

"Did you know him previously, any conflict?" Mu Hanyan asked.

Earlier, Long Wucuo called Shen Yuhe by name, clearly indicating prior acquaintance. Additionally, her previous opposition against visiting the Heavenly Sun Temple made it easy to infer they had past conflicts.

"Yes, my mother hails from the Gush Family in Tianyang City, considered a reputed Priest Family. As a child, I accompanied my mother for visits and met that guy, knowing somewhat about him and indeed having minor conflicts. That guy is Long Wudang’s elder brother. Long Wudang, while no saint, is a straightforward villain. Long Wucuo, however, is a facade harboring malice, consuming without leaving bones." Shen Yuhe said, then guiltily added, "Perhaps he targeted me, almost implicating you, Master."

"If only targeting you, there’s no need to create such a commotion. He’s targeting me, or rather Huayu Temple, likely to vent Long Wudang’s anger." Mu Hanyan said comfortingly.

Although Long Wudang and Shen Yuhe’s status are comparable, upon close inspection, Shen Yuhe even slightly surpasses. However, Huayu Temple now evidently cannot compare with the Heavenly Sun Temple. Long Wudang’s strength seems far superior to Shen Yuhe’s. If intending solely to deal with her, there was no need for such grand theatrics. Mu Hanyan was certain he’s targeting her, the purpose being to support Long Wudang. Shen Yuhe’s affair is merely incidental.
