Chapter 1799: Chapter 1799: The Psychological Shadows Left by the Little Piglet

Previously, Han Yan was filled with bitter hatred toward the people of Mu Family Village, wishing to tear them apart. But now, standing face-to-face with Han Yan, he realized he lacked the courage to take revenge.

That chubby, cute, yet terribly frightening little piglet had brought him too many painful memories.

"Go!" Chen Xuefeng, having survived this long not just through brute force, was far more adept at assessing situations and making quick decisions compared to typical bandits. Realizing things had taken a turn for the worse, he turned his horse and fled.

The other bandits had already been terrified to their cores by Mu Tu’s knife and were further startled by recognizing Han Yan, causing their hearts to pound. Upon hearing Chen Xuefeng’s command, they hesitated not a second and galloped after him, fleeing out of the village.

"This time, leaving won’t be that easy." Han Yan sneered coldly.

She had numerous doubts in her mind and needed to question Chen Xuefeng thoroughly, so there was no way she would let him escape again.

Chen Xuefeng and his companions rode on the Red Charcoal Cloud Smoke Beast, and in just a few blinks, they had rushed to the village entrance. Sneaking a look back, seeing Han Yan wasn’t following them, they all breathed a long sigh of relief.

Chen Xuefeng even felt a small sense of triumph—no matter how formidable your sacrificial pet is, without a mount, can you really catch up to me on foot?

In fact, this was the greatest advantage of bandits; having roamed the wilderness since childhood, both they and their mounts possessed extraordinary resilience, making the typical priests who grew up pampered unable to match their hide-and-seek games on the vast plains.

But before his moment of triumph was complete, his face paled abruptly.

"Crack!" The Earth suddenly shuddered, spikes of stone piercing up from the ground.

The Red Charcoal Cloud Smoke Beast beneath them was caught off guard, impaled by stone spikes, and collapsed in a bloody heap, letting out a collective wail. Several slightly slower-reacting bandits were similarly pierced, dying without even the chance to scream.

Chen Xuefeng and a few quick-reacting companions realized the danger and immediately leapt into the air, temporarily avoiding the deadly impact.

It was temporary because just as they jumped, a rain of stone mingled with green-tinted arrows materialized out of thin air, flying towards them.

"Ah..." Amidst his followers’ screams, Chen Xuefeng’s men were already riddled by the dense stone arrows.

Only then did Chen Xuefeng spot Wen Gaoren and Sikong Qinglan at the village entrance.

Wen Gaoren was a Ninth-level Divine Priest, and Sikong Qinglan had broken through his long-held bottleneck to become a Level 8 Divine Priest after using elixirs acquired from Long Wudang and Ou Mingzhi.

If two priests—one Ninth level and one Eighth level—struggling to deal with a mere handful of bandits wasn’t the world’s biggest joke, what would be?

Fearing he would disrupt the future master’s plans, Wen Gaoren had even set up a simple array at the village entrance to prevent any mishaps. Having Lingyu Divine Hall’s foremost Array Master put such skills to minor use, those bandits, if aware in the afterlife, would surely feel proud.

With the stone arrows undiminished, they continued firing directly at Chen Xuefeng with relentless force. Seeing the cloud patterns stitched onto Wen Gaoren’s priest robe, Chen Xuefeng dared not act carelessly, shouting loudly as he swung his long saber in tight circles before him.

"Clang clang clang clang..." Amidst the crisp sounds of impact, the stone and arrow barrage finally vanished, leaving Chen Xuefeng trembling as he staggered backward repeatedly.

When the final arrow was dispersed, he found himself back before Han Yan, whose frosty longsword pointed directly at his vulnerable throat.

Though Cultivation of Martial Arts could reach a certain level, where one can confront even High-level Priests, there remain differences compared to Priest Divine Techniques. Much like with a swordsman, a priest’s organs can suffer severe injury but still not prove fatal unless the heart meridian is harmed. However, for Martial Arts practitioners, vulnerable points are numerous, including the throat.

Of course, if Martial Arts is cultivated to the extent its practitioners can challenge High-ranking Priests, ordinary priests would find it tough to hit lethal points. However, as it stands, Chen Xuefeng hadn’t reached that level, and Han Yan wasn’t an ordinary priest, nor was her sword an ordinary sword.

Thus, Chen Xuefeng stood there, not daring to move in the slightest.

Ling Baobao holding a turtle shell, looked at the bodies at the entrance of the village, then glanced at Chen Xuefeng with disheveled hair, feeling slightly annoyed. Originally wanting to vent their frustrations on him, who would have thought they’d be so swiftly wiped out.

"Chen Xuefeng, care to try again? If you can manage a step outside the village, I’ll spare your life," Han Yan said with contempt.

Wen Gaoren and Sikong Qinglan, with the array’s help, likely few below a Tenth Rank Divine Priest could withstand them. Chen Xuefeng single-handedly had managed to counter their Divine Arts, making Han Yan curious about his Martial Arts.

"What’s the point of ganging up on the outnumbered?" Chen Xuefeng glanced at Wen Gaoren and Sikong Qinglan, realizing escape today was impossible, and grew defiant, standing his sword on the ground and spoke gruffly.

Understanding timing doesn’t mean fearing death; Chen Xuefeng’s notorious reputation came from his well-known fierceness, knowing there was no escape today, willing to be ridiculed by Han Yan as a cat toys with a mouse, no.

"Gang-up on the outnumbered? You a bandit, talk about ganging up on the outnumbered with me?" Han Yan looked at the bandit and nearly laughed.

Chen Xuefeng was a bit embarrassed too; as a bandit, their crimes were all swarm attacks, hardly qualifying them to accuse others of ganging up.

"I’ve done countless evil deeds in my life, knowing this outcome was impending. If you want to kill me, then do so; why talk so much nonsense?" Chen Xuefeng said with his neck straightened.

"Since you know your fate today, I won’t say much. Answer a few questions and I’ll give you a quick end," Han Yan understood these fierce types. Even knowing their certain death, once their fierce side erupted, surrender wasn’t easy.

Promising escape wouldn’t convince them; promising swift death might elicit some truth instead. Else pressure them hard, they’ll either refuse to speak or lie tirelessly.

"What do you want to know?" Chen Xuefeng asked, turning his eyes.

"You’ve agreed?" Han Yan asked.

"As long as you promise to spare me, I’ll tell you whatever you want to know," Chen Xuefeng replied.

"Do you think that’s possible?" Han Yan’s expression turned cold.
