Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 1126 - 1135: Forcing Her to Drink Alcohol
Of course, if they just jump out alone, without any "suggestions" from the people around, they wouldn’t really dare to make any moves.
"Thank you." Anna replied with a smile.
"Come, I’ll toast to you." President Fitzgerald said, as he moved his chair closer to Anna.
If he can’t woo Anna, taking advantage in some way still brings joy.
To speak of it, even touching the hand of the Eldest Miss Monroe is an incredibly prestigious thing.
"Sorry, I don’t drink."
Anna smiled, responded politely.
Her refusal immediately made the atmosphere at the table go cold.
Not to mention how Zoe Quinn’s gaze gained a few degrees of mockery, even Director Lowell’s face looked unpleasant.
"Anna, it’s just a glass of wine."
Zoe Quinn sat on President Fitzgerald’s other side, wearing a low-cut dress that offered a generous glimpse of her fair chest.
"You’re really not giving President Fitzgerald face."
"If face must be given, then you can do it." Anna retorted lightly.
She’s not so foolish as to actually drink the wine here. When she first came in, she noticed the strange looks from President Fitzgerald and other men.
She’s been protected by The Morgan Family for many years, but she’s not stupid, nor are her eyes blind.
"Anna!"
Zoe Quinn was furious seeing Anna being so defiant in front of President Fitzgerald, but she was playing the delicate route, shedding two tear drops down her cheeks.
"Bullying me in the crew was bad enough, but now..."
While speaking, she burst into tears.
Anna looked at Zoe Quinn’s face, tear-streaked like a pear blossom in the rain, and suddenly felt an itch in her hand.
"Zoe, don’t cry."
President Fitzgerald had a fondness for tender beauties; seeing Zoe Quinn crying because of Anna, and seeing Anna giving him no face at all, he put the cup of wine on the table.
"Waiter, fill her glass with wine."
When Anna sat down, her wine glass was half full.
At this moment, the waiter came up and filled Anna’s glass to the brim.
"Anna Morgan."
President Fitzgerald’s tone turned cold, even changed the form of address, "Drink this wine."
"If you don’t drink, we’ll switch to the clear one."
This was blatantly making things difficult for Anna.
Anna had just embarrassed him in front of so many people.
"Clear one, red one, I don’t quite like either." Anna refused.
"Hmph!"
President Fitzgerald snorted coldly, looking at Anna with full disdain.
"Anna Morgan, Director Lowell just told you, I’m the biggest investor in this film."
"I was even thinking about adding more money to the film, so everyone can work hard to make a great film."
"You’re thinking of cutting off everyone’s livelihood!"
For some naive young stars, President Fitzgerald liked using this routine.
He wouldn’t outright say that you offended me, not drinking and not entertaining me means a dead end, but instead used his influence to turn the crew against those who were disobedient.
If Anna drinks, she’d be doing right by the crew and the director.
If Anna doesn’t drink, President Fitzgerald pulls funding, which is against everyone in the crew.
"Anna Morgan!"
Speaking up next was Director Lowell.
Director Lowell brought Anna personally to please President Fitzgerald.
With so many people here, they wouldn’t let Anna be taken away for real.
It’s just to keep Anna company with President Fitzgerald, and let him touch twice. Such scenarios are really not uncommon in the industry, Anna was making herself out as an exception, which might have worked before, but not anymore.
"If you drink the wine, everyone will be happy."
Director Lowell glared at Anna, persuading.
"Indeed."
Others chimed in, "Anna, it’s just a glass of wine, don’t upset President Fitzgerald."
