Chapter 1659 - 1635: Wherever Our Eyes Meet, That Is Eternity: Another Child

"Early, what early," Lorelei Howard teased her grandson while speaking, "Victoria is pregnant again, yesterday your aunt deliberately came to my room to show off, you and Violet are younger than Daxton and Eva, we can’t have fewer children than them!"

Violet Zimmerman...

Does having children have to be a competition?

"Mom, look how you say that! As if having more children could win a trophy, don’t forget, the country now advocates family planning, one couple, one child, Violet and I are also responding to the national call."

Daxton Lancaster originally intended to go to the company but sat down beside Violet Zimmerman upon hearing his mother’s words, naturally putting an arm around Violet’s waist.

In the eyes of outsiders, it was obvious that the couple had a good relationship.

"There’s no trophy to win, but Maximilian has siblings, our Robert can’t have fewer than him!"

Lorelei Howard said with a touch of defiance, "Their second branch can afford the fine, don’t tell me we can’t? You and Violet are still young, you can’t let Robert grow up alone, can you?"

"Alright, alright, Mom, we can afford this money. Once Robert is weaned, Violet will give you another grandchild!"

Daxton Lancaster compromised reluctantly, then stood up.

"Go play with your grandson, I’m off to the company."

"Off you go, off you go, don’t bother us!"

Her son agreed, and Lorelei Howard was delighted, as long as she could have another grandchild, she didn’t care about the hundreds of fines.

Violet Zimmerman rose to see Daxton Lancaster to the door, and hearing him talk about having another child, she felt somewhat anticipatory.

...

That evening, the second branch went to the old man’s place for dinner again; the old man personally called Atlas Lancaster, instructing him to manage his wife properly and not cause any more trouble.

After two lessons, Eva Hayes didn’t dare to pick conflicts like before.

Before New Year’s, Joseph Lancaster opened another factory producing cement; with the new factory established, he became busier, traveling for over a month, unable to return for New Year’s.

The entire Lancaster Family gathered around the dining table, except for Joseph Lancaster. As the family laughed and toasted, Violet Zimmerman felt a faint sense of loss in her heart.

It had been over a month since she had seen her brother-in-law; something seemed missing in her heart.

On January 13th, Joseph Lancaster, who had been traveling, finally returned. By the time he arrived home, it was already after one in the afternoon; without visiting his mother, he took the gifts he had bought for her and her son and headed to Violet Zimmerman’s place.

At this time, Violet Zimmerman would be in the room cuddling and napping with her son. When Joseph Lancaster arrived, he greeted the servants and headed straight up the stairs.

In the room, Violet Zimmerman lay asleep with her son on the bed, both of them sleeping soundly.

After opening the door, Joseph Lancaster lightened his steps and sat sideways on the edge of the bed.

In a month and a half, his son had grown significantly; his little face was round, with small fists raised on either side while sleeping, looking very cute.

The woman sleeping next to the child was just as adorable, with one hand resting on her face and the other on the child’s leg; her cheeks were alluringly pink from the fully heated room.

In his view, the woman had her eyes closed, her thick eyelashes like tiny brushes casting shadows under her eyes.

Her lips were slightly parted, occasionally emitting a faint snore.

In an uncontrollable impulse, Joseph Lancaster extended his fingertip to Violet Zimmerman’s lips.

Fingertip gently rubbed, Violet displeasedly furrowed her brow from the foreign touch.

She evaded slightly, producing a protesting sound from her nose, soft and small, like a kitten’s paw tickling at the heart’s cord.

Feeling a stir in his heart, Joseph Lancaster instinctively lowered his handsome face.

Warm lips gently fell upon Violet Zimmerman’s lips.

Violet shifted uneasily again, but Joseph Lancaster seized the opportunity and assertively claimed...

"Hmm... mm..." In her sleep, Violet Zimmerman felt her breath being blocked, letting out a disgruntled protest and drowsily opening her eyes.

Seeing the man’s enlarged handsome face in front of her, she was stunned for a moment before reacting.

"... Joseph?"

"Did you miss me?" Joseph Lancaster retreated a bit, his hand gently caressing Violet’s face, his gaze filled with evident deep emotion, his lowered voice full of tenderness.

Perhaps just waking up, her brain still hazy, a word slipped out without much thought as she looked at Joseph Lancaster and said, "Yes."

"Heh," a soft laugh was Joseph Lancaster’s satisfaction, as his thin lips descended once more, expressing over a month’s longing and missing.

After the kiss ended, Joseph Lancaster said, "Violet, I missed you too, and our son."

Just awakened, one’s will is weak, especially after being kissed for so long by Joseph Lancaster; under his gaze, Violet Zimmerman said, "Daxton said... once Robert is weaned, he wants to have another..."

Joseph Lancaster...

His wide phoenix eyes didn’t clearly indicate whether he was shocked or elated. Violet closely watched him, seemingly waiting for his opinion, completely unaware of any impropriety in her hurried words.

It was the promise Daxton had made to his mother just after Robert was one month old, yet now, so long after, she remembered to inform Joseph Lancaster.

Joseph Lancaster’s phoenix eyes glinted with the sheen of smiles, as if shimmering with brilliance. Unconsciously, his palm rubbed Violet’s face, as he deliberately lowered his voice and asked, "Violet, are you inviting me?"

Violet Zimmerman...

Suddenly realizing what she’d said, she blushed and quickly covered her face with her hands.

Too embarrassed to face anyone, she couldn’t believe she had brought this up to Joseph Lancaster.

Her wrists tightened, and Joseph Lancaster pulled her hands away from her face, more direct this time, pouring his pent-up longing of these days into the warmth of his palm.
