Chapter 78: Chapter 74: You Wouldn’t Want to Lose Her, Would You?

Sally was a Succubus born in the Dream World. She could freely traverse any man’s dreams, and would occasionally enter women’s dreams as well.

She had seen countless dreams, but she had never seen a dream like Lian’s.

Those bizarre, unfamiliar buildings; those zombies that ran faster than the Goblin Race; and those strange metal contraptions flying in the sky.

When these metal contraptions flew overhead, they would rain down a strange metal shower.

The moment this metal rain hit the ground, it exploded.

The power of these explosions was comparable to Magic.

Sally wasn’t like Lian. Since Lian didn’t originally belong to the Dream World, he normally couldn’t be harmed within it.

But Sally could. If she were killed by this metal rain, she would be truly dead.

Realizing this, Sally immediately withdrew from Lian’s Dream World.

Lian opened his eyes again.

This time, he was truly awake.

Sophie and Simo were both keeping watch by his side.

Simo looked in surprise at the pale-faced Sally and asked, "Sally, are you all right?"

Sally shook her head.

"Simo, this is too dangerous for me. I bet you that no Succubus would dare enter his dreams. He’s a complete and utter heretic."

"Uh, Miss Sally, could there be some kind of misunderstanding between us?"

Lian scratched his head. ’The natives of this Otherworld are less accepting of new things than a Transmigrator like me, who came from a peaceful era.’

’I’ve managed to accept Magic, so why can’t they accept the apocalypse?’

It was the first time Simo had ever seen Sally so adamantly refuse to enter someone’s dream.

This meant that Lian’s Dream World was truly dangerous.

"Lord Lian, I could give you the method. Perhaps you could ask another Succubus for help?"

Simo asked tentatively.

"Simo, we’re friends. I don’t want to make things difficult for a friend."

Lian said with a smile.

Simo and Sally both breathed a sigh of relief, not expecting Lian to be so reasonable.

Lian maintained his smile and continued,

"Miss Sally, according to Article 213 of the Holy Empire’s laws, a Succubus must not take a single step into a Holy Church. To do so is to desecrate the Church. By infiltrating Raphael Church, you have already committed a grave crime."

Lian turned back to Simo. "Sorry, I don’t want to make things difficult for a friend, but as a Lord, I also have duties I must fulfill."

Simo and Sally were both stunned. They hadn’t expected Lian to be so shameless and despicable.

"Father Simo, I’m sure you can find a way to persuade Miss Sally, right? After all, you wouldn’t want to lose her, would you?"

Lian whispered in Simo’s ear, like a Demon murmuring.

Simo sighed and looked at Sally again.

Sally knew Lian really did have many ways to get her killed.

The Miss Witch beside him was one of those ways. She hadn’t said a word, her face was completely expressionless, and her silent presence alone was enough to inspire boundless terror.

Sophie didn’t know Sally was afraid of her. Noticing Sally looking at her, she forced a harmless, fake smile.

But in Sally’s eyes, that was clearly the cold sneer of the Death God just before claiming a soul.

It was absolutely terrifying.

Sophie had no idea her smile was having the opposite effect. After all, she was a girl who rarely smiled and had a somewhat deadpan expression.

She was just trying her best to appear friendly in front of Lian’s friends.

’Lian did just say that Simo and Sally were his friends, right?’

"I... I’ll try again."

Under the pressure of Sophie’s smile, Sally forced herself to say.

Lian let out a long breath. "Don’t worry, I’ll protect you in the Dream World."

"This time, I’ll need to give you some guidance and psychological suggestions to make sure you don’t have a Nightmare,"

Sally said.

Lian nodded. He really wanted to tell Sally that the zombie dream just now was in no way a Nightmare for him.

After all, he’d run this map many times and knew it like the back of his hand.

A real Nightmare was much, much worse than that.

Sally took a deep breath, mustered her courage, and entered Lian’s dream for the second time.

With her guidance, Lian had a sweet dream this time.

Sun, sand, and bikinis.

On the soft sand, Sally and Lian woke up at the same time.

Sally saw a group of scantily-clad young women. Their outfits were so revealing that even a Succubus couldn’t help but blush.

They crowded around Lian, asking him to rub "sunscreen" on them.

What was sunscreen? Sally had no idea.

But seeing this scene, Sally couldn’t help but wonder if Lian was some kind of male succubus.

Lian put down the sunscreen, shooed away the chattering girls, and said to Sally,

"Let’s get started. We need to do this quickly and find the Dream Sleep Flower as soon as possible."

Lian knew this dream was indeed a pleasant one, but the R-rated developments that were about to follow were not suitable for sharing with others.

Sally nodded. Before Lian’s sweet dream could turn into a Nightmare, she used her keen Succubus senses and pointed toward the sea.

"It should be over there, but..."

"But what?"

"I don’t dare go over there. That’s the Forbidden Sea."

In Sally’s world, all oceans were forbidden lands, places that land-dwelling creatures could not set foot in.

Lian had also learned of this common knowledge after transmigrating.

He told Sally with great certainty, "This is my dream. The sea here is fine. We can swim across."

To prove his point, Lian was the first to jump into the sea. He swam two laps as freely as a fish, then waved to Sally, saying,

"Come on in, Miss Sally! See? I’m perfectly fine."

Lian kicked away a shark that was about to take a bite out of him.

’That’s weird,’ he thought. ’Isn’t this supposed to be a sweet dream? Why are there sharks in it?’

’It’s not a great white, is it?’

’Wait, why is my kick so powerful?’

’Right, I’m a Four-star Shadow Knight now. A mere great white shark is nothing more than another dish on the menu for me.’

Seeing Lian swimming so calmly, Sally once again mustered her courage and jumped into the water.

There was indeed no danger in the sea, aside from the occasional great white shark, the Ghost Ship that rose from the deep, the giant octopus that had signed a contract with a Demon, and the ugly Merfolk whose songs bewitched the heart...

An hour later, Lian woke up again.

Sally opened her eyes, clutching the Dream Sleep Flower in her hand.

She swore she would never enter Lian’s Dream World again.

’Does this man even understand what a sweet dream is?!’

The Dream Sleep Flower was as pure and beautiful as a snow lotus, but once removed from the Dream World, it would only last for ten minutes.

Therefore, Lian had to use it to infuse a bath and wash his body within ten minutes.

Lian immediately ordered bathwater to be brought. He placed the Dream Sleep Flower inside, then stripped naked and jumped in himself.

He didn’t mind being watched in the slightest, mainly due to the long-term conditioning from Anna and Annie.

Back when he was in the Green Shade Territory, his baths were always spectated by those two Maids, so he had already developed a thick skin.

"Miss Sally, thank you for your hard work this time. I’ll have to ask for your help again next time,"

Lian said with a smile.

"There won’t be a next time."

Sally’s face was dark. She felt she was enduring a level of stress that a Succubus of her age should never have to bear.

"Of course, if you find a new Miss Succubus for me, then there won’t be a next time."

Sally bit her lip. She made up her mind: she absolutely had to find a new Succubus for Lian!

She would not suffer this torment ever again.
