Chapter 125: Chapter 107: A True Rich Woman (2)

This was an overt scheme.

Catherine would have to agree to his demand.

And he could then gather these vassals for a council to overturn Catherine’s right to succession.

Because the Jackson Family still had Lorne Jackson.

Compared to Catherine, who had no political background, Lorne Jackson had a significant political track record in Blue Moon Territory and was now backed by the powerful Lord of the South, Mary.

The vassals would surely choose to support Lorne Jackson.

"The Jackson Family has eighteen vassals. The Ivanchuk family and the Ferguson family were the ones the Lord valued most, and they died with him in the disaster. The other vassals left Blue Moon Territory for various reasons before the disaster, taking many people with them. I suspect they were bought off by Rose Territory long ago."

Mina reminded her again in a low voice.

Catherine’s lovely brows furrowed almost imperceptibly.

’If this group gathers together, is there any chance they’ll support me?’

"Alright, let them all come. When our Catherine succeeds the title, it would seem rather illegitimate if there were no vassals present."

Lian answered Khrish in Catherine’s stead with a smile.

It was only then that Khrish noticed the young Lord of Green Shade Territory in the carriage.

That dazzling blond hair—even standing amidst ruins, he was recognizable as a child of the Moria Clan.

"This must be Lord Lian Moria."

Khrish said humbly.

"Governor Khrish, there’s no need for such courtesy. You are Catherine’s uncle, which makes you my elder as well. Whatever you wish to do, please feel free. We are all family, so there’s no need for such formalities."

Lian said, exchanging pleasantries.

Khrish forced a smile. "Yes, but necessary etiquette must still be observed. You are, after all, the Lord of Green Shade Territory. I must still address you respectfully as Lord Lian."

"Uncle Khrish, you’re being too kind."

The two of them exchanged courtesies, leaving Catherine to the side.

Catherine didn’t mind. She was just wondering why Lian had agreed to Khrish’s request on her behalf.

’Has he already thought of a countermeasure?’

The army escorted the luxurious carriage through the deserted streets to the Lord’s Castle of Blue Moon Territory.

Sunlight cascaded upon the majestic castle, outlining the ancient structure’s silhouette with greater clarity.

The castle’s history was as long as that of Blue Moon Territory itself. It was built by the first Patriarch of the Jackson Family and predated Green Shade Territory by at least two hundred years.

Stepping into the castle, rows of carved long tables covered with bright red silk tablecloths stood in the center of the spacious hall.

On the tables, silver cutlery and Crystal goblets reflected the soft candlelight, gleaming against each other.

The corridors were lined with exquisite oil paintings and polished suits of Armor, each piece a testament to the Jackson Family’s wealth and taste. Walking on the soft carpets felt like treading on clouds, and the soft patter of footsteps echoed in the vast, empty castle.

A spiral staircase led up to magnificent bedchambers. Inside the rooms were beds adorned with gold trim, their soft feather mattresses covered with silk quilts. Silk curtains fluttered in the breeze, and outside the windows lay rolling hills and drifting white clouds.

Lian realized that compared to Catherine’s Blue Moon Castle, his own Lord’s Mansion in Green Shade Territory seemed rather shabby.

This castle’s grounds were five times the size of his Lord’s Mansion.

Every decoration in the castle looked priceless, and Magic Stones made from Blue Moon Ore were visible everywhere.

Only then did Lian realize he had truly latched onto a rich sugar mama.

Catherine was now the mistress of this castle. She had become the 13th Patriarch of the Jackson Family.

She had a duty to receive guests at the castle, even Yusofa’s Governor Khrish, who harbored ill intentions.

The castle was perfectly preserved, but there wasn’t a single servant.

Catherine had only brought a Maid, a Knight, and the Witch Dora who was by her side.

But Lian had already thought ahead for her. He had dispatched a group of people from his Lord’s Mansion to set out with them, and they could now serve the castle.

Anna had wanted to come along, but Lian had refused, reasoning that his first secretary had to remain at the Lord’s Mansion to handle official business.

Since Anna didn’t come, Annie naturally wouldn’t either.

She needed to stay home to protect her older sister.

The servants from Green Shade Territory had left their homes to work in Blue Moon Territory. To display her generosity as the new mistress, Catherine gave them all a raise and promised to always take good care of their families.

With their worries gone, the servants were won over by the money and began working diligently.

With servants, the castle finally began to function properly.

Catherine arranged accommodations for everyone who had made the journey. The army was stationed outside the castle, while the officials from Green Shade Territory, the Church Court Clergy, and Governor Khrish of Yusofa all stayed within the castle.

After everything was arranged, the mistress Catherine, led by Mina, finally arrived at the luxurious bedroom belonging to the Lord of Blue Moon Territory.

The top floor of Blue Moon Castle was a single, massive room.

This was the bedroom of the successive Lords.

It included a bedroom, a bathroom, a drawing-room, a ballroom, a study, a recreation room, an indoor-outdoor swimming pool, and a large observation terrace.

Dora looked at the incredibly luxurious top-floor suite. Any given goblet on the table was a priceless jeweled cup.

"Catherine, are you about to start living a life of extravagance, spending money like water?"

"Dora, I’m not interested in these things. If you like them, just take them."

Catherine rubbed her temples. She felt especially exhausted today.

"Alright, Catherine, you need to rest. Let’s go bathe first. A bath is the best way to relax."

"Miss Catherine, I’ll go prepare your bath right away."

Mina said with a smile.

Mina was in a very good mood, being able to return to Blue Moon Castle.

Catherine and Dora were bathing, and the sound of their laughter drifted down to Lian’s room below.

The castle’s soundproofing was actually quite good, but as a Five-star Knight, Lian had exceptional hearing.

He could naturally hear the laughter from upstairs.

’Should I take a bath too?’

Lian stroked his chin.

The sleepless nights had left him with a light stubble.

’I need a Philips.’

’Too bad they don’t exist in this era. There are only the simplest blades, the kind that easily cut your skin.’

"Alex, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be in your own room?"

Lian looked at Alex Pool.

On this trip, aside from the maids, he had brought an all-male contingent.

The Maids were all for Catherine’s sake anyway.

Alex Pool said with a serious expression,

"Lord Lian, Lady Mary must already know we’ve entered the territory. I suspect she has already dispatched assassins. I wanted to remind you to be extremely careful."

"Mm, assassinating Catherine is indeed the most direct method. Don’t worry, Catherine has a powerful bodyguard by her side. I believe Miss Magic Box will not disappoint me."

As a woman, Dora could truly provide close, 24-hour protection.

Unlike him, who always had reasons to be away from Catherine’s side.

For example, when one had to go to the washroom alone.

"Besides Miss Catherine, you should also be worried."

"Bloody Mary probably won’t make a move on me for the time being."

Lian said confidently.

"Why?"

Alex Pool asked, confused.

"Because right now, I am Old Moria’s only blood relative. Catherine, on the other hand, is one of two Jackson blood relatives. If Catherine dies, Lorne Jackson can still inherit the Lord’s position. If I die, Green Shade Territory will have to revert to the hands of the King of the Holy Empire. Mary definitely wouldn’t want to see that happen."

Lian analyzed.

And indeed, it was true. The assassins sent by Mary were all meant for Catherine.

As for Lian, his value to Mary was greater alive than dead.

"Lord Lian, Lord Moria has more children than just you. His offspring are numerous."

Alex Pool said hesitantly.

It was then Lian realized that even the three ministers Moria valued most didn’t know the true price of the Eye of the Future.

They probably thought that all of Moria’s other family members were still alive.

’Poor old man. He sacrificed his family but couldn’t even get a good review.’

The vast majority of people in Green Shade Territory misunderstood him.

’I wonder if I should clear his name for him.’

"Alex, you must remember this: my father, Moria, valued me greatly. For my safety, he was capable of doing anything."

"Are you suggesting... Lord Moria would kill the other heirs for your sake?"

Alex Pool asked, his voice filled with suspicion.

"No. He no longer has any other heirs."

Lian’s words sent a chill down Alex Pool’s spine as he contemplated the terrifying implications.

"Alright, stop worrying about me, Alex. Go take a bath and get ready for tonight’s banquet."
