Chapter 121: Chapter 105: "How Should I Repay You?

"I... I can see."

Dora’s voice reached Lian’s ears.

He turned his head and saw the Disease Witch, Dora, also lying on the floor.

Her skin had returned to normal, and the red, virus-like gas was no longer seeping from her body.

She could now control her Magic Power and had regained her sight, hearing, touch, and all other senses.

Hearing Lian’s breathing, she turned her head in pleasant surprise.

She had expected the first person she saw to be Catherine, but instead, it was a complete stranger.

The young man’s hair was slicked back, damp with sweat. He had sharp, handsome features and was dressed in lavish clothing, looking like a nobleman.

"Were you the one who entered my body just now?"

Dora asked curiously.

Lian’s mouth twitched. "Miss Dora, please don’t say things that can be so easily misunderstood. I simply cleared your magic power channels."

"It was really you?"

Dora’s eyes sparkled. She climbed up from the floor, flipped over, and sat on top of Lian, studying him with even greater curiosity.

"How did you do it? Are you real? Am I dreaming?"

The lively Dora had a graceful figure. The warmth from her fair legs and the glimpses of skin revealed by her tattered clothes stirred a youthful restlessness in Lian.

But she was his fiancée’s best friend.

Lian very rationally resisted this innocent temptation.

"Miss Dora, please get off of me. I’ll grant you the right to observe me from up close for three seconds. After all, few women can resist my Charm."

’This kind of arrogant, conceited line will probably make Miss Witch scoff at me,’ Lian thought.

But Dora’s reply surprised him.

"I want more. Please, cleanse me one more time. I’ve never experienced a pleasure like that, like flying into another world. You must be a reward from the God of Tiger. You’re here to save me."

Dora looked at Lian excitedly.

The deep sleep she’d just had had allowed her to completely recover her energy and Physical Strength.

Lian wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"Miss Dora, this isn’t something I can just give you whenever you want. It requires you to have a red entry."

"So your ability is to cleanse red entries?"

A cunning smile appeared in Dora’s eyes.

Lian suddenly realized that Dora had tricked him into revealing information.

’This girl isn’t as innocent as she looks.’

"Yes."

Lian admitted frankly.

"You can really save a Witch?"

"Aren’t you alive and well right now?"

"How should I repay you?"

"Start by getting off of me."

"I could repay you with my body, you know. You’ve probably never had a taste of a Witch, have you?"

A greedy glint flashed in Dora’s lively eyes, making her look dazzlingly beautiful and utterly delectable.

But, Lian thought, his fiancée was waiting for him outside the Gate. He wouldn’t do something so utterly depraved.

"Sorry, my heart already belongs to someone else. You’re too late."

Lian climbed up from the floor and straightened his wrinkled clothes.

Dora also stood up and said, not giving up,

"No matter who it is, they can’t take away the gift bestowed upon me by the God of Tiger."

"What about Catherine?"

Lian asked, raising an eyebrow. He was eager to see the look of defeat on Dora’s face.

Catherine was supposed to be the most important friend in Dora’s life. Their bond even transcended that of family.

But Dora didn’t look defeated at all. She spun around excitedly.

"Catherine is here? She’s the one who sent you to save me, right? I knew Catherine wouldn’t abandon me! Even if the whole world abandoned me, she never would."

Lian’s mouth twitched. ’Miss Dora sure changes the subject fast. Was that really my point?’

Dora nervously touched her face and looked down at her tattered dress, worrying,

"How can I see Catherine looking like this? I have to be elegant and beautiful. I need a mirror, I need a bath, I need a gown and makeup."

"Miss Dora, you were quite confident when you were facing me just now,"

Lian said, speechless.

’Why do I get the feeling Catherine is the one she wants to date?’

’Have I become an obstacle between them?’

"No matter what I look like, I can charm any man. No one can resist my Charm. Because I am Dora."

Dora lifted her chin confidently, as if she had a split personality. The Dora who had just been worrying about her disheveled appearance was gone.

"But Catherine is different. I have to show her my most beautiful side."

"Why?"

"I must present my best self to Catherine. You wouldn’t understand. It’s a special bond between us."

Dora reached out and placed a hand on Lian’s shoulder. "First, you need to find me a decent set of clothes."

"Mm."

Lian nodded calmly.

"I’ve already prepared something for you."

「A moment later.」

Wrapped in a black robe, Dora looked at Lian with dissatisfaction.

"Are you sure these clothes are decent enough?"

"Yes. For a great villain who destroyed the entire Blue Moon Territory, these clothes are more than decent. You don’t want people to find out you’re still alive, do you?"

Lian reminded her in a friendly tone.

Dora frowned. Thinking back on what she had done while she had lost control, she couldn’t help but feel a wave of fear.

’Losing control was one thing, but if they find out I’m back to normal, I’ll be sent to the gallows, won’t I?’

Having destroyed the entire Blue Moon Territory, not even the most brilliant defense lawyer could clear her of her crimes.

Even though she hadn’t subjectively intended to kill those people, they had indeed died because of her. The title of "great villain" was well-deserved.

"Does this mean I have to live in the shadows from now on?"

Dora thought about it. No longer having to be a city’s Guardian Witch, no need to return to the Church, and no need to report to the Guardian Bureau... Suddenly, she felt a sense of relief.

"Then let me become an Apostle of the Dark Night! I’ll also need a mask to cover my beautiful face."

Dora gestured toward her face.

Looking at the Disease Witch, whose thoughts jumped around so quickly, Lian suddenly didn’t know what to say.

He pulled on the Witch’s hood, directly covering most of her face.

"We can talk about the mask later. Let’s go. We should get out of here. Catherine must have been waiting for a long time."

"I can’t wait to see Catherine!"

Lian and Dora walked out of the church, one after the other.

The hug and tears from Catherine that they had expected did not materialize. Instead, they were greeted by the dead silence of the night and an empty street.

"Where’s Catherine?"

Dora asked, speechless.

Lian coughed twice. "Someone must have taken her away. Yes. She wouldn’t bear to leave me. Trust me."

"..."

"Let’s go. It’s better that no one saw us, anyway."

Lian strode forward.

"What identity should I live under from now on?"

Dora asked curiously, her steps keeping pace with Lian’s.

"My attendant, Maid, or shadow guard. You can pick one. In any case, I saved your life, so you must be loyal to me from now on."

"Can I be Catherine’s attendant, Maid, or shadow guard?"

"What do you think?"

"Fine. What’s your relationship with Catherine?"

"She’s my fiancée."

"You’re married?"

"No. Fiancée."

"Oh. It seems our relationship is about to get very complicated."

"No, it won’t be."

For some reason, Dora reminded Lian of Sophie’s Kingfisher. They were both so talkative.

Dora’s voice, however, was pleasant, as melodious as a wind chime, and not at all grating.

Besides, who could refuse a Witch with the mature looks of a queen but the heart of a young girl?

Her childishness actually made her more interesting.

Of course, Lian absolutely hadn’t saved her just because she was interesting. His love for Catherine was unwavering.

Right now, he was simply happy for himself.

He hadn’t expected that he could not only cleanse entries that were Bordering on Loss of Control, but he could even save a Witch whose body was breaking down.

He believed that with this kind of Power, he would soon have countless Witches under his command. Then, it wouldn’t be impossible to vigorously develop a Witch-based economy and build a prosperous Witch Empire.

"I still don’t know your name."

"Miss Dora, remember my name: Lian Moria. The master you will serve from this day forward."
