Miss Witch, It's Time to Clean the Entries
Chapter 118 - 104: Dense Red Entries
Chapter 118: Chapter 104: Dense Red Entries
The young woman was like a red rose on the verge of withering,
the only splash of color against the hazy, gray background.
Her skin had begun to crack. Within the fissures were countless fine, red lines—a sign that her Magic Power had completely overflowed from its channels and was now continuously leaking out, causing Erosion.
Lian saw a dozen red, negative entries above the young woman’s head.
[Magic Loss of Control] [Fading Consciousness] [Despair and Apathy] [Self-Abandonment] [Memory Corruption] [Hearing Loss] [Vision Loss] [Numbness] [Dulled Perception] [Source of Infection] [Physical Collapse] [On the Brink of Death]
Just as the Grand Priest had said, even if Lian and the others hadn’t entered the High Wall, the Disease Witch Dora wouldn’t have lasted long in this state.
Her senses dulled, she didn’t notice anyone approaching, her hollow eyes staring straight ahead.
Suddenly, she stood up, rose onto her toes, and began to dance.
She held the hand of an imaginary partner, dancing and singing,
"We are children abandoned by the gods, puppets bound by fate. But luckily, we have each other. Let us dance, for the wine in our cups! Let us dance, for the morning sun..."
As if she knew her final curtain call was approaching, she spun in circles on the church spire.
"Danger! On guard!"
a Priest shouted.
As Dora danced, a crimson mist emanated from her body.
Even a Five-star Knight couldn’t withstand contact with this mist.
This was the terrifying power of a Witch who had lost control.
She was clearly unconscious, yet she had already become a walking catastrophe.
The Priests and Knights raised their protective Barrier once more, and Arcane Runes shimmered on the golden shield.
Catherine, wanting to step forward, was pulled back by Lian.
If she left the protective Barrier now, what awaited Catherine would likely be the kiss of death.
Lian watched Dora, his heart heavy with complicated emotions.
’If I hadn’t appeared, would Sophie have ended up like her too?’
"Miss Catherine, you have seen the Disease Witch. Can you take out the key now? Please, eliminate her as quickly as possible."
Knight Commander Hickman of the Polestar Knight Order said sternly.
She lifted her veil and spoke to Lian in a pleading tone,
"I want to talk to her. She won’t hurt me."
"Miss Catherine, that’s too dangerous."
said Knight Kage Mori. As the last Knight of the Jackson Family, he was obligated to protect Catherine’s safety.
"She probably can’t hear you right now. She’s lost control."
Lian’s tone was heavy. Witch Dora’s hearing was impaired; theoretically, she couldn’t hear a thing. Otherwise, she would have noticed them approaching.
"No, she’s waiting for me. I can feel it."
Catherine’s eyes reddened, but she fought back her tears, refusing to let them fall.
Her tone was unshakably certain because she remembered the song Dora sang and the dance she danced.
It was a testament to the years they had spent together, to their Unbreakable friendship.
"Alright. If you can awaken her consciousness, I’ll help you save her."
Lian could help Dora by clearing those negative entries, but the prerequisite was ensuring his own safety.
If she had become a completely mindless bomb, forget cleaning her entries; just getting close would be life-threatening.
Therefore, when it came to saving people, he could only do what was within his power.
Catherine nodded, moved.
"What do you need me to do now?"
"Get me to the rooftop."
"You could get Infected with the Plague."
"But I’ll have you with me, won’t I?"
Their conversation, held as if no one else was there, drew the ire of the Proud Knight Commander Hickman, and the Priests voiced their objections as well.
But Lian ignored them, activating the mark on his thumb.
A part of Solaya’s Spirit floated out from the mark, forming a phantom that gently embraced Lian.
Lian picked up Catherine and, with a single leap, left the protective Barrier created by the Priests and Knights, landing on the church spire.
Catherine released Lian’s hand and walked toward Dora.
As Dora danced, a slender, fair hand suddenly took her empty one.
She froze for a moment but quickly resumed her dance.
The two of them spun in circles, hand in hand, just like when they were children.
But Catherine was not well. After inhaling the red dust, her lungs burned, and she began to cough uncontrollably.
Horrible red spots appeared on her face, and soon, she was coughing up blood.
Lian saw the entry [Infected with the Plague] appear above her head.
Realizing Catherine couldn’t hold on for much longer, he stepped forward, interrupted their dance, and picked up his fiancée.
"Catherine, is that you?"
Dora asked, the realization dawning on her slowly.
Catherine coughed as she replied, "It’s me, Dora. I’m back."
"Catherine, I’ve finally been waiting for you. Now, send me from this world."
Dora closed her eyes, as if this was the final ending she had been waiting for.
She had been guarding the Blue Moon Territory all this time just to wait for Catherine’s return, to give it back to her. And now, she felt she should walk toward her own fated end.
Realizing that Dora was indeed still able to communicate, Lian said,
"Miss Witch Dora, don’t be so quick to sentence yourself to death."
"Who are you?"
Although she couldn’t see and her hearing was unclear, Dora could still perceive Lian speaking through the red mist floating in the air.
"Dora, this is Lian. He’s here to help us."
Catherine said weakly.
Dora stared at Lian with hollow eyes.
"Let’s go. There’s no point in staying here any longer."
