Chapter 4675: Must Die
Chapter 4675: Must Die
“Whoosh!”
“Clang!”
“Bang bang bang!”
The underground palace erupted in a cacophony of sound. The sharp whistle of displaced air mingled with the ringing of clashing swords and the dull thuds of impacts, creating an immediate and chaotic scene. Hundreds of monstrous figures swarmed Feng Jiu, Du Fan, and Leng Hua, their greenish-blue blood splattering across the stone floor. Piercing screams and guttural roars echoed through the confined space, the sounds lingering ominously.
“Stop fighting! Stop fighting! Everyone, cease this!” The Demon King bellowed, his voice strained above the din. However, Feng Jiu and her companions paid him no heed. The lesser demons, panicked and desperate, darted around with their heads clutched in their hands. Finding no avenue of escape, they fought with the ferocity of the cornered.
Some of the demons shed their humanoid guises, revealing their monstrous true forms to engage in the desperate struggle. Yet, against the combined might of Feng Jiu, Du Fan, and Leng Hua, these creatures were pathetically weak. It was clear that only the Demon King and the Demon Queen possessed the power to truly challenge them.
Observing the growing number of her fallen brethren littering the ground, a flash of bloodthirsty cruelty ignited in the Demon Queen’s eyes. Her gaze fixated on Feng Jiu’s exquisite features and slender form, a sinister smile slowly spreading across her painted lips.
With a fluid gesture, she extended her hands and twisted her body, undergoing a grotesque transformation. Her limbs elongated and scaled over, her torso contorted, and she became a terrifying snake demon with a human face and a serpentine body. As her serpentine form writhed and her clawed hands moved, faint, chilling hissing noises cut through the chaotic battle sounds.
Feng Jiu glanced down and saw a horrifying carpet of snakes slithering across the stone floor. Some were as thin as chopsticks, others as thick as fingers, and some as wide as two hands. The snakes displayed a vibrant array of colors, and some even sported bright, ominous crowns upon their heads. Their gaudy hues were a clear indication of their potent venom.
Although Feng Jiu, Du Fan, and Leng Hua possessed bodies highly resistant to poison, capable of withstanding even the deadliest toxins, none of them relished the prospect of being bitten by these venomous creatures.
Instinctively, Feng Jiu drew her gleaming Blue Edge sword and slashed through the air. Then, raising the intense flame in her palm, she channeled its fiery energy into the blade. With a resounding “whoosh,” a torrent of fire erupted from the sword, sweeping towards the writhing mass of snakes on the ground.
“Come behind me!” Feng Jiu shouted, directing Du Fan and Leng Hua to retreat to her side.
Heeding her command, the two men simultaneously leaped back, swiftly positioning themselves behind their master. However, just as they settled into their protective stance, a flash of red blurred past them, heading directly towards the transformed Demon Queen.
Seeing Feng Jiu’s decisive action, the Demon King’s initial instinct was to intervene, to aid his queen. But after taking a single step forward, he abruptly halted. The Ghost Doctor Feng Jiu was the Sovereign Ruler, and even in the Demon Realm, her formidable strength and unparalleled skills were legendary. Her mastery of medicinal pills was extraordinary, but her true terror lay in her astonishing combat prowess. How many powerful beings had fallen by her hand, their deaths echoing across the heavens and earth, solidifying the fearsome reputation of the Ghost Doctor Feng Jiu?
He dared not provoke her, let alone make her his enemy, for he knew with chilling certainty that such an act would inevitably lead to his own demise. He could only lament the machinations of those above, who had clearly orchestrated this deadly encounter. Whether Feng Jiu perished at their hands or they fell before her, it would be a favorable outcome for those shadowy figures. But now that events had spiraled to this point, he felt powerless to stop the inevitable.
He knew, with a sinking feeling in his gut, that the Demon Queen was doomed. If he dared to interfere, even he would surely meet his end by Feng Jiu’s merciless blade.
“Ah!”
A piercing, bloodcurdling scream ripped through the din of battle, momentarily silencing the lesser demons. Hearing the agonizing cry, they froze, their movements arrested in disbelief. They ceased their frantic fighting and turned their gazes towards the source of the horrifying sound – the Demon Queen. What they saw widened their eyes in utter shock and terror.
