New Saintess Cemetery is a very famous site in Moscow, yes, it is a site.

New Saintess Cemetery is not a national cemetery, but it has buried many notable figures in Russian history, such as Pushkin, Chekhov, Ulanova, Gogol, and many other very famous people, as well as several political figures like Khrushchev and Yeltsin buried here.

Most importantly, members of the Black Demon unit rest here after death.

The taxi stopped at the entrance of the cemetery, and Yarebin got out and slowly walked into the cemetery.

Filled with flowers and green trees, along with tombstones and statues of diverse designs, there are many tourists, many coming to pay respects to those famed in Russian history.

Yarebin didn’t linger. He walked past these distinctive statues without any intention of stopping, as he wasn’t here for sightseeing.

Leaving the main paths of the cemetery, Yarebin wove left and right between the tombstones of many famous people, showing his familiarity with the cemetery.

Gradually, Yarebin reached a secluded corner of the cemetery, where there were no more tourists, and without statues or large tombstones nearby.

Another turn, bypassing a towering bush, Gao Yang saw several tombstones.

Only a few small black tombstones hidden in the tall grass, no statues, not even words on the tombstones.

These are tombstones without epitaphs, pure black, concealed in the grass, just as the person buried here was unknown in life.

Silent in life, silent in death.

Yarebin stood before the tombstones, glanced at each, and then softly said, "Brothers, I’ve come to see you."

Gao Yang saw someone standing not far from them, about ten meters away, behind a shrub blooming with flowers, dimly visible, yet unmistakably seen.

Only Yarebin and Glewatov acted as if they saw no one nearby.

Glewatov finally spoke, raising his hand in salute, saying solemnly, "I am Glewatov, I accompany the captain to see you."

Yarebin squatted down, gently stroking a dark stone, softly said, "Are you lonely? You shouldn’t be, you are buried together."

Yarebin touched each of the black tombstones without words one by one, placing a flower in front of each, finally standing up, pointing to Gao Yang, and smiling, "My student, the new captain of the Black Demon, he has nothing to do with you, I just wanted to let you know."

With a long sigh, Yarebin suddenly raised his voice and shouted, "Come over here."

The man behind the bush slowly walked over.

In his fifties, somewhat burly, with a short beard on his cheeks, a round face, looking like a very ordinary and common Russian, but Gao Yang knew his identity.

Baskov, once a member of the Black Demon, now one of the three giants in Russian intelligence.

Gao Yang guessed, but once the man spoke, Gao Yang was sure he guessed right.

"Captain, hello."

Yarebin slowly turned around, solemnly said, "Hello Baskov, it’s been a long time."

Baskov’s expression was strange, and he said softly, "You have been to Red Square."

"I have."

Baskov nodded and said softly, "I knew you would go to Red Square, and I knew you would definitely come here after, I couldn’t go to Red Square, so I waited here for you."

Yarebin nodded and said, "I knew you would come."

The two faced each other in silence for a moment. Baskov lowered his head again and said, "I’m sorry, Captain."

Yarebin shook his head and said, "No apologies, it’s all past now, I can’t say you did anything wrong, in fact, our choice was the wrong one."

Glewatov turned his head to the side, refusing to look at Baskov, while Baskov softly said, "I’m grateful you are willing to see me, thank you."

Yarebin sighed softly, "No need to thank me, really, no need, it’s all past."

Baskov appeared ashamed, but remained silent, while Glewatov growled hatefully, "Traitor!"

Baskov said softly, "I’m sorry, Glewatov, I’m sorry!"

Glewatov suddenly grabbed Baskov by the collar with a ferocious expression, "You betrayed the Black Demon! If it wasn’t for you, Black Demon wouldn’t have disbanded! You have the face to come here? You dare come to us? Traitor! Pah!"

Baskov appeared ashamed but firmly said, "None of us could prevent the dissolution of the Soviet Union! I couldn’t let Black Demon continue to exist because you and I know what Black Demon means, since Black Demon was determined not to pledge loyalty to Russia, it had to disband, I am loyal to the state, and this state does not allow Black Demon to continue!"

Glewatov’s eyes turned red, and he stared at Baskov, trembling, "You! This traitor!"

Yarebin waved his hand and said to Glewatov, "Let him go, Glewatov, let him go, what Baskov says is not wrong, the new Russia cannot tolerate the existence of Black Demon, no matter what Baskov has said or done, Black Demon’s disbandment is inevitable."

Glewatov released his hold fiercely, Baskov straightened his collar, calmly saying, "I don’t regret it, I’m sorry for what I’ve done, but I truly don’t regret it, Glewatov, I don’t ask for your forgiveness, I just hope you understand me."

Gao Yang understood why members of Black Demon were reticent about Baskov, even though Baskov helped him and Black Demon a lot, when Tarta mentioned Baskov, he still ground his teeth. Initially, he thought it was because Baskov joined Russia’s Federal Security Service after Black Demon’s disbandment, but now it seemed it wasn’t that simple.

Yarebin sighed again, softly saying, "Baskov, I came to see you today to introduce someone to you."

Baskov glanced at Gao Yang and smiled, "Because of him, right? Ram."

Gao Yang nodded, and could only politely smile at Baskov.

Yarebin smiled, "Yes, it’s him, Ram, my student, also my successor, now he is the captain of the Black Demon."

Baskov looked at Gao Yang with a peculiar expression, then suddenly saluted Gao Yang, solemnly saying, "Captain."

Gao Yang felt a bit panicked and didn’t know what to do, while Yarebin smiled and said, "Just salute back, after all, he is still a member of Black Demon, how can he not salute the new captain when meeting him."

Baskov said solemnly, "Once a Black Demon, always a Black Demon, indeed I am a member of Black Demon, even if many don’t acknowledge it, I still insist on being a member of Black Demon."

Gao Yang looked at Glewatov, then at Yarebin, finally choosing to return the salute, solemnly saying, "Hello, Baskov."
