"What are you going to do with these bodies?" Kristina asked.

"What do you think I should do?" Ye Xiu countered.

Kristina shrugged. "Just leave them here. We just ate. Cleaning up bodies now would be disgusting. What if I throw up?"

"Makes sense," Ye Xiu nodded. "Then let’s go."

With that, he slung his pack over his shoulder and walked out with Jiaojiao in his arms.

Seeing this, Kristina’s eyes lit up. She was thrilled that Ye Xiu wasn’t dealing with the bodies. This way, the Order Department would surely follow the clues to find him, at which point she could transmit her intel.

Idiot! Kristina cursed inwardly, hoisting over a dozen bags of cash and hurrying after him. "Where are we going now?"

"Nanshan Town," Ye Xiu replied without a second thought.

Kristina’s eyes lit up again. Nanshan Town was Yue Family territory. With Yue Jinchuan, Yue Yinchuan, and Yue Longxuan all dead at Ye Xiu’s hands, things would certainly get interesting if the Yue Family found out he was there. Furthermore, a supreme expert was also hidden in Nanshan Town.

「Twenty minutes later.」

Ye Xiu and his two companions took a taxi to the quaint and historic Nanshan Town, where they rented a lavish estate called Nanxi Manor for 500,000.

"There are only three of us. Did you really need to rent such a huge garden estate?" Kristina complained after they entered Nanxi Manor.

Nanxi Manor was a sprawling, traditional estate complete with its own hills and water features, making it an exceptionally comfortable place to live. It had enough buildings to house over a hundred people, so for just three, it was indeed extravagant and wasteful.

"Once I’ve established a foothold in Tiger City, many more people will be living here with us," Ye Xiu said casually, admiring the exquisite gardens.

Kristina had a realization. So, Ye Xiu was planning to turn this place into a base of operations. She said, "Nanshan Town is a thousand-year-old town. I’ve been here many times, especially to Snowflake Creek at the foot of Mount Nanshan. How about I take you there to have some fun tomorrow?"

Ye Xiu chuckled. "Snowflake Creek is the territory of ’Pizza Hut’s’ Nan Tianjun. Are you trying to lure me there so you can use him to kill me?"

Kristina was astonished. "You even know about Nan Tianjun?"

Heh, I know a lot more than you think.

Ye Xiu didn’t answer. He led Kristina to a two-story wooden building and said, "You can stay here."

This is the servants’ quarters... Kristina fumed internally, but then another thought struck her. If she was living alone in this small building, wouldn’t she have plenty of opportunities to escape?

The thought immediately cheered her up. She asked tentatively, "You two aren’t staying in the same building as me?"

Ye Xiu shook his head. "Jiaojiao and I couldn’t possibly stay in a servant’s house."

Kristina wasn’t the least bit offended by Ye Xiu indirectly calling her a servant. She simply shrugged and said, "Suit yourself."

She then walked into the wooden building. After closing the door, she peeked out to see if Ye Xiu had left, only to find him busying himself with something outside. This puzzled her.

What is that bastard Ye Xiu up to?

Over half an hour later, Ye Xiu finally finished. Unable to contain her curiosity any longer, Kristina opened the door to ask what he had been doing. As she stepped out, however, her head slammed into an invisible wall.

"You... you set up a Formation around the building?" Kristina’s expression changed dramatically.

"Of course. If I didn’t set up a Formation, what would I do if you ran away?" Ye Xiu shrugged and walked off with Jiaojiao.

Kristina screamed in anger. Just moments ago, she had been gleefully thinking about all the chances she’d have to escape while living alone. Now, Ye Xiu had imprisoned her in the small building with a Formation.

Early the next morning, Ye Xiu was preparing to take Jiaojiao and Kristina out for breakfast when the doorbell suddenly rang.

The three of them went to open the main gate, only to find twenty-five members in Order Department uniforms standing outside.

The Order Department’s efficiency is pretty high. They tracked me down in just one night. Ye Xiu thought to himself.

Meanwhile, Kristina was ecstatic. In her eyes, these twenty-five members were her ticket to sending her intelligence report.

"Can I help you?" Ye Xiu asked, feigning ignorance.

"I am the Deputy Head of the Order Department. I suspect you’re involved in a massacre. Please come with me," the middle-aged man in the lead said flatly, sizing up Ye Xiu and Kristina.

"You must be Tang Kai’s brother-in-law, then?" Ye Xiu asked.

Upon hearing this, the complexions of the Deputy Head and his twenty-four members changed drastically. They had already suspected Ye Xiu was the killer. Now that he had directly mentioned the deceased, Tang Kai, there was no need for further investigation. Ye Xiu was definitely the murderer.

"The massacre at Li’s Family Restaurant last night... was that your doing?" the Deputy Head asked cautiously, drawing his service weapon.

The other twenty-four members also drew their pistols, aiming them at Ye Xiu.

"It was," Ye Xiu admitted candidly.

"You..." The Deputy Head quickly aimed his gun at Ye Xiu. He had never encountered such an audacious killer, one who would admit to his crimes so calmly. For a moment, he couldn’t grasp what Ye Xiu was playing at and asked, "Why did you kill them?"

"You’ll have to ask Princess Kristina about that," Ye Xiu said, pointing at her.

This stunned Kristina. Ye Xiu’s abrupt revelation of her identity had caught her completely off guard.

What in the world is he up to? she wondered.

"What?"

The Deputy Head and his twenty-four members all turned to look at Kristina upon hearing her title. The Deputy Head asked, "You... you are Her Highness, the Princess?"

To save face, the Golden Family had not made it public that Kristina had been taken hostage, so the Deputy Head didn’t find it strange that she was here.

"I am." Kristina nodded, then bit her finger to squeeze out a single drop of Golden Blood—the ultimate proof of her identity.

"This humble servant, Li Qicheng, Deputy Head of the Order Department, pays his respects to Your Highness!" Upon seeing the Golden Blood, the Deputy Head immediately dropped to one knee.

His twenty-four members followed suit, all kneeling on one knee.

"Rise, all of you..."

Kristina was about to ask Li Qicheng to escort her to the Order Department. That way, she could not only escape Ye Xiu’s control but also relay the intelligence about his plan to target scientists back to the Golden Family. But just as she began to speak, Ye Xiu cut her off.

"The Princess is on an incognito visit and doesn’t wish for her presence to be widely known," Ye Xiu declared. "All of you, return at once. Do not disturb Her Highness again."

Kristina was furious and wanted to refute him on the spot, but she had a second thought. If she exposed Ye Xiu’s lie, these twenty-five men from the Order Department would probably be killed. And who knew how an enraged Ye Xiu would deal with her then? A grab of her rear would be the least of her worries.

"You... just do as he says," Kristina said through gritted teeth, suppressing the urge to strangle Ye Xiu as she addressed the twenty-five men still kneeling on the ground.

"As you command!"

The Deputy Head immediately rose to his feet and led his subordinates away.

Watching them leave, Kristina’s composure shattered. Why was it so hard to pass on a simple piece of intel? At that moment, however, she finally understood why Ye Xiu had revealed her identity.

He was using her as a living amulet.

News of her presence would inevitably spread throughout Tiger City’s official circles. From now on, who in Tiger City would dare to offend Ye Xiu, the man standing beside Princess Kristina?
