Medical and Martial God
Chapter 799 Death List
"It must be a miscalculation. At most, this entire meal is worth 1,500." Kristina also felt that 100,000 was an outrageous price.
"There’s no mistake. If you don’t believe me, look at the bill!" the waitress said with a look of feigned innocence, handing the bill to Ye Xiu.
Ye Xiu took the bill, and after a single glance, he chuckled in exasperation. "5,000 for a bowl of rice?"
"The rice we serve isn’t ordinary; it’s imported."
"And as you know," the waitress continued, spouting utter nonsense with a straight face, "besides King Island, the other islands in the Eternal Islands are either occupied by invaders, trapped by Formations, or in the midst of war. The price of rice and all sorts of other goods has skyrocketed."
She can really lie with a straight face... Ye Xiu took a deep breath, fuming. He had no evidence to refute the claim about the price of rice, especially since the price hikes on King Island were, ironically, his own doing.
He asked, "I’ll let the expensive rice slide, but 1,000 per person for tableware? That’s 3,000 for the three of us. You can’t justify that, can you?"
The waitress shrugged. "Our tableware is also imported, and it’s all single-use. We throw it out after it’s been used once."
"8,000 for a plate of spicy chicken?" Ye Xiu pressed.
"Our chickens are imported and free-range," the waitress replied smoothly.
Ye Xiu took another deep breath, enraged by the restaurant’s blatant extortion. It was obvious they had seen him carrying over a dozen bags of cash, pegged him as an outsider, and were trying to fleece him.
"Sir, if you would please pay the bill," the waitress said with a smile, her eyes looking at him as if he were a fool.
Ye Xiu counted out 1,000 from a bag of money and placed it on the table. "That’s all you’re getting. Take it or leave it."
The waitress’s face instantly turned cold. "Sir, are you trying to dine and dash?"
Ye Xiu couldn’t be bothered with her. He picked up Jiaojiao and said to Kristina, "Grab the money. We’re leaving."
"Trying to leave? Not so fast!" The waitress blocked Ye Xiu’s path and shouted, "Boss, we’ve got someone trying to dine and dash!"
The boss and two chefs, armed with kitchen cleavers, immediately ran over. They appeared almost the very instant the waitress shouted, as they had been waiting for her signal all along.
"Who’s trying to dine and dash?" the portly boss asked menacingly, wielding a large bone cleaver.
"Him!" The waitress pointed at Ye Xiu.
The boss immediately pointed the cleaver at Ye Xiu. "Well, look at you, kid. You’ve got some nerve. I’ve been running this place for decades, and no one has ever dared to dine and dash. I don’t think you plan on leaving here in one piece."
Ye Xiu took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to kill. "Just look at the food we ate," he said. "The waitress is asking me for 100,000. You’re the boss. Do you really think this meal is worth that much?" He still wasn’t sure if the waitress was acting on her own or if the boss had instructed her, so he had to ask before taking action. One has to be reasonable, right?
"100,000?" The boss glanced at the leftovers, then at the bill. "My waitress made a mistake. It should be 200,000. Sir, pay up. If you don’t settle the bill today, I’m afraid none of you will be leaving."
At this, the waitress and the two chefs adopted menacing expressions to back him up.
They’re courting death! Ye Xiu clenched his fists, wanting to smash the boss’s head in.
Just then, more than a dozen people burst into the restaurant. Tang Kai and his five friends led the group, while the other ten were in uniform and appeared to be from the Order Department.
Seeing this, Kristina felt a secret thrill of joy. I need to find a chance to tell the Order Department that Ye Xiu is after the scientists.
When the boss, the waitress, and the two chefs saw the Order Department officers, they flinched. The boss lamented internally, Damn it, I was too slow! Tang Kai and the Order Department are going to snatch his money!
"Haha, kid! I bet you didn’t expect me to come back, did you?" Tang Kai strode forward, laughing, and said to one of the officers behind him, "Officer Zhang, that’s the guy who robbed me. Look, the money’s still right there on the floor."
The boss, waitress, and chefs silently cursed Tang Kai for his shamelessness, thinking, We only wanted to extort 200,000 from him. Tang Kai not only wants all of his money but is also framing him for robbery!
"You shouldn’t have come back when I was angry," Ye Xiu said coldly.
"Well, well, aren’t you a tough guy!" Tang Kai laughed theatrically. He turned to the Order Department squad leader, Officer Zhang. "See that? He’s acting this arrogant right in front of the Order Department. He clearly has no respect for you."
Officer Zhang walked up to Ye Xiu and looked him up and down. He drew his pistol, pointed it at the dozen or so bags of cash on the floor, and asked, "Did you steal this money from Tang Kai?"
"No," Ye Xiu stated.
Zhang pressed the muzzle of the gun to Ye Xiu’s forehead. "I’ll give you one chance to choose your words more carefully."
BANG!
Ye Xiu’s leg shot up, his foot connecting squarely with Zhang’s chin. The officer flew into the air, tracing a parabola before crashing onto a dining table five meters away.
Tang Kai and his five friends, along with the other nine Order Department officers, had been watching with amusement as Zhang tried to force a confession out of Ye Xiu. When they saw Ye Xiu actually dare to strike an officer, they all gasped and whipped their heads around to look.
When they saw Zhang’s body sprawled across the dining table, not just them, but the boss, waitress, and chefs all screamed in terror, their faces drained of color. The arrogant officer’s jaw had been completely shattered by the kick. He was deader than dead.
Murder? He actually dared to kill someone? And an officer of the Order Department, at that!
The boss, waitress, and chefs were so terrified they wet themselves. My God, what were we thinking? We tried to extort 200,000 from this monster! We’re lucky Tang Kai and his men showed up when they did, or we’d be the ones dead right now!
Kristina, however, suddenly panicked. Now that Ye Xiu had started killing, the remaining nine Order Department officers and Tang Kai’s group were likely next. If they all die, who will help me deliver the intel that Ye Xiu is after the scientists?
"Y-you... you killed an Order Department officer! That’s... that’s a capital crime! You’re... you’re dead!" Tang Kai pointed a trembling finger at Ye Xiu, backing away in terror as he spoke.
The nine remaining Order Department officers, snapping back to their senses, scrambled to draw their pistols to attack Ye Xiu, but it was too late.
Ye Xiu raised a hand, unleashing sixteen streams of Blade Qi. The heads of Tang Kai’s five friends, along with eight of the Order Department officers, tumbled to the floor.
"Aaaah!" Seeing this, Tang Kai, the boss, the waitress, and the two chefs screamed in terror and collapsed to the floor in a heap.
Kristina took a deep breath. Well, so much for that. The information isn’t getting out today. I’ll have to find another chance.
"I told you," Ye Xiu said, walking up to Tang Kai with an expressionless face. "You shouldn’t have come back while I was angry."
He kicked Tang Kai in the face, and his head exploded.
Afterward, he turned to face the boss, the waitress, and the two chefs.
"No, please, don’t kill me..." the boss shrieked, scrambling to his knees and kowtowing frantically. "Sir! No, Great Sir! Master! I was wrong! I was blind and failed to recognize a master! Please don’t kill me, ah, please..."
The waitress and the two chefs copied their boss, kneeling and banging their foreheads on the ground, begging for their lives.
"I came to King Island to kill," Ye Xiu stated, picking up a chair. "I only just arrived today and wanted to get the lay of the land first. It’s a shame you all ran yourselves right onto the edge of my blade."
He swung the chair, smashing the heads of the two chefs. "Be better people in your next life," he said coldly. "And by the way, don’t get reincarnated in the Eternal Kingdom."
With that, he swung the chair again, killing the boss and the waitress.
Kristina watched Ye Xiu’s killing spree with a blank expression, suddenly realizing, He came to King Island suppressing his Killing Intent. He came here specifically to kill. From the moment he set foot on King Island, everyone here was already on his death list!
