Chapter 789 Ye Xiu Accidentally Hits Qin Qing in the Face

Only then did they learn that Ye Xiu hadn’t actually killed the thirty old folks back in Tamwood City. So, Ye Xiu had put the two of them back in charge of them.

"Pipi Pig, you stay here and protect these martial artists. Elder Mo, Elder Tang, let’s go," Qin Qing said.

"Let’s go!" Mo Qingdi and Tang Buyi immediately led the thirty lovable old folks into the forest, following Qin Qing.

However, the moment they arrived on the battlefield, the army of Mutated Beasts that had been fiercely battling the martial artists suddenly stopped, all staring at the approaching Qin Qing with strange expressions.

"What’s going on?"

The martial artists from the Star of Xipoloya and Protectors of the Gods were utterly baffled by the Mutated Beast army’s sudden ceasefire. Then, they saw Qin Qing and the lovable old folks running over.

"Lady Ye!"

Notable figures like Sindbad and Nicolas, the loose cultivator hermits, quickly greeted Qin Qing. They had met her at Ye Xiu’s home when he had performed their Detoxification and granted them their Life Totems.

"There’s no need for such formalities, esteemed seniors!" Qin Qing politely greeted them before asking, "Why did you all stop fighting?"

Nicolas replied, "It’s strange. Before you came, we were fighting so hard we were about to beat each other’s brains out. But the second you arrived, the army of Mutated Beasts suddenly ceased hostilities of their own accord."

Mo Qingdi, Tang Buyi, and the thirty lovable old folks were stunned.

Qin Qing, however, had a vague guess as to what was happening. She walked forward alone toward the army of Mutated Beasts. This act earned her the silent admiration of Nicolas and the others. She was truly Divine Doctor Ye’s wife; such courage and spirit were beyond any ordinary woman.

In the next moment, however, they noticed something odd about the gazes of the Mutated Beast army. Every single one of them was staring at Qin Qing with a look of fawning greed.

What was going on? Did beasts have a thing for human beauties nowadays?

"Kneel and submit to me!" Qin Qing said coolly, testing her theory on the army of Mutated Beasts.

Her words left all the martial artists present, including Mo Qingdi and Tang Buyi, utterly thunderstruck.

Is Ye Xiu’s wife really this dramatic? She actually came here to demand the submission of an army of Mutated Beasts!

However, the army’s actions in the next moment stunned them so much their scalps went numb.

The army of Mutated Beasts actually knelt down, one after another!

Mo Qingdi and the other martial artists drew a sharp, collective breath. They stared at Qin Qing as if she were Ultraman, wondering if Ye Xiu’s wife had awakened some kind of hidden ability that allowed her to make an army of Mutated Beasts submit with a single sentence.

"Just as I thought!" Qin Qing laughed.

When she and Leng Yue had first arrived in the Abandoned City, the hundreds of thousands of beasts there had looked at them with the exact same expression and behaved in the exact same way as these Mutated Beasts did now. At the time, she and Leng Yue hadn’t thought much of it and had just given Pipi Pig a sound beating. Because of that, Qin Qing had always believed they had subdued Pipi Pig by force, which in turn gave them control over all the Mutated Beasts in the Abandoned City.

But now, it seemed that wasn’t the case at all.

Remembering the fawning, greedy way Pipi Pig and the beast army in the Abandoned City had looked at Ye Xiu, a daring theory began to form in Qin Qing’s mind.

"Huh? That’s odd. The Mutated Beasts have stopped increasing in number," Sindbad remarked in confusion.

His words made the others realize that, until recently, Mutated Beasts had been constantly appearing out of thin air. Yet, ever since Qin Qing had arrived, no more had materialized.

"Lady Ye, are you the one who stopped the Mutated Beasts from appearing out of thin air?" Nicolas asked.

"Perhaps," Qin Qing nodded.

No sooner had her words fallen than a giant structure, resembling a subway entrance, suddenly appeared at the very spot where the Mutated Beasts had been materializing. Then, everyone watched as Ye Xiu and Jiaojiao rode out on a giant wolf.

"Divine Doctor Ye?" the crowd exclaimed, their scalps tingling with shock.

Ye Xiu was riding a Mutated Beast, emerging from the very place the Mutated Beasts had been appearing from. And what was with that subway entrance?

"Hey, do you realize you have the worst timing?" Qin Qing said, her face dark. She had just taken credit for stopping the Mutated Beasts from appearing, only for Ye Xiu to show up and immediately prove her wrong.

"Has something happened?" Ye Xiu asked, completely oblivious.

Everyone struggled to hold back their laughter. They all understood the subtext in Qin Qing’s words, of course, but no one had the heart to point it out. It would be too embarrassing for her.

"How did you get out from there?" Qin Qing quickly changed the subject, giving no one the chance to expose her.

"No time to explain! I have to get to the western farmlands!" Ye Xiu said. He then kicked the rear of a nearby Mutated Beast and barked, "What are you all standing around for? Get back into the underground passage!"

And so, Qin Qing, Mo Qingdi, and the others watched as the army of Mutated Beasts that had just submitted to her scurried back into the underground passage, looking dejected.

Seeing this, Qin Qing’s face grew even darker. Did Ye Xiu just poach the minions I just recruited?

"Do you want to come with me?" Ye Xiu asked.

"I’m busy! I have to pick my face up off the floor!" Qin Qing huffed.

Ye Xiu: "???"

Did something happen that I don’t know about?

However, Ye Xiu had no time to ponder it. He quickly set up a Formation to conceal the entrance and then rode the Wolf King at full speed toward the western farmlands.

Seeing Ye Xiu really leave without her, Qin Qing was left standing there awkwardly. Mo Qingdi and the others quickly dispersed, all pretending not to notice her obvious embarrassment.

But one question lingered in their minds, both deeply puzzling and astonishing them: Why did Ye Xiu and his wife possess the power to make Mutated Beasts submit?
