Maybe I really am a Villian

Chapter 296: Boss dead

  • Next Chapter

The mana bullets hit their targets, and the beast was too absorbed in pain to react. One bullet struck the wound on its arm, making it worse, while another hit its eye.

The mana bullet that struck its eye destroyed it, causing the beast to lose one eye. It stumbled backward frantically, overwhelmed by pain and unable to see properly.

Its remaining eye finally locked onto Asher, who was now standing nearby with a smile. When the beast saw that smile, it felt mocked and became even more enraged.

The beast suddenly slammed both hands toward Asher, trying to crush him with its overwhelming strength. However, Asher easily dodged the attack by jumping backward and creating some distance.

While jumping backward, Asher raised his hand and fired several more mana bullets toward the beast. The beast immediately used its uninjured arm to block the incoming projectiles.

However, because it had lost one eye, its depth perception was temporarily affected. The beast miscalculated the projectiles’ positions and couldn’t block every mana bullet coming toward it.

Several mana bullets struck the places where Asher’s sword had already dealt shallow wounds. The additional impact widened those wounds, and blood began flowing again.

By now, the beast was bleeding from multiple parts of its body, including its wounded arm that now has gaping hole in it making it almost useless to fight, which had a gaping hole, and the area around its destroyed eye.

The beast’s entire body was now filled with pain, while Asher stood some distance away and continued looking at it with that same irritating smile on his face.

That smile was becoming extremely annoying to the beast. It wanted nothing more than to grab Asher with its massive hands and tear him apart using its strength.

Then, without warning, Asher suddenly moved toward the beast to attack. He was taking advantage of its temporary loss of aim and perception caused by losing one eye.

Asher knew the beast’s brain would eventually adapt to losing an eye. Before that happened, he wanted to use its temporary weakness to finish the battle quickly.

The beast was already suffering from multiple mana injuries and heavy bleeding. It had also grown fatigued from the earlier battle, reducing its agility and movement speed.

Because of its temporary loss of depth perception, the beast couldn’t properly defend against Asher’s attacks, which were filled with feints and unpredictable changes during every exchange.

Asher would change the trajectory of his sword slash in the middle of the attack, adjusting its direction without reducing the momentum behind the strike by much.

This made his attacks extremely difficult for the beast to predict. Even when it tried blocking his sword, Asher would suddenly change the direction of his blade.

Asher always aimed for the beast’s weak points, including its throat, remaining eye, spinal cord, and the already wounded parts of its massive body.

He continued attacking without giving the beast enough time to recover. Every strike added another injury, while the beast’s movements gradually became slower and more desperate. ℯℯ𝘭.

Blood continued flowing from its wounds, and its breathing became heavier. Its movements grew increasingly sluggish as its strength drained from the prolonged battle.

The beast tried attacking Asher several times, but its movements were no longer as fast or powerful as before, allowing Asher to dodge and counterattack easily.

Asher continued moving around the beast, attacking from different angles and constantly changing the direction of his sword. The beast struggled to predict where the next strike would land.

With every exchange, the beast became more exhausted, while Asher continued attacking with precise movements. The difference between their combat abilities became increasingly obvious as the battle continued.

Eventually, the beast could no longer properly react to Asher’s attacks. Its movements had become too slow, its vision was impaired, and its body was covered in injuries.

Asher suddenly moved behind the beast while it was struggling to turn around. He tightened his grip on the sword and prepared one final attack.

The beast tried turning around, but it was already too late. Asher stepped forward and delivered a powerful thrust straight toward the beast’s spinal cord.

The sword pierced through the beast’s body and reached its spinal cord. The beast’s massive body suddenly stopped moving, and its remaining strength disappeared almost instantly.

Asher pulled his sword out and stepped backward, watching the enormous beast collapse onto the ground. The five-star Gold-ranked beast was finally dead, killed by Asher alone.

Asher looked at the beast’s corpse with a satisfied smile on his face. "Yeah, it was fun. Though it was a little weak, it was still fun to fight."

Asher said it in an excited tone, and then the beast’s corpse slowly started disappearing. The blood spilled across the ground, and Asher’s sword disappeared along with it.

Asher looked at the place where the boss’s body had disappeared and then muttered in a slightly annoyed tone, "Tsk, they could have at least made it drop a snack."

"Then it would have been even better," Asher added casually, before looking around the area for a moment and checking the timer displayed in front of him.

There were still fourteen minutes left on the timer for Asher to reach the special area. The area was only two minutes away if he ran at full speed.

That meant Asher had more than enough time to reach the area. He checked the map once again and then turned toward the marked special area nearby.

"Let’s reach it soon and then rest for a moment. Fighting this beast was exhausting ", Asher muttered before moving toward the special area.

He then started running through the forest at full speed, moving between the trees while following the direction shown on the map toward the special area ahead.

Meanwhile, inside the Training Room, everyone silently watched Asher’s figure moving through the forest toward the special area at full speed without slowing down once.

The man responsible for spawning the monsters finally moved his gaze away from the screen. He looked toward Professor Elisa and asked in an uncertain tone, "Should I spawn a Platinum beast?"

When Elisa heard this, she immediately shot him a cold glare. The man instantly looked away from Elisa and shifted his gaze back toward the screen again.

"I see. It’s a no," the man muttered quietly, understanding Elisa’s answer without needing her to say anything else as he continued watching Asher’s movements carefully.

Elisa continued looking at Asher’s image on the screen. ’He defeated it as expected, but he did it this easily without getting injured or becoming exhausted again.’

’Even if I spawned a Platinum-ranked beast, this kid would probably still defeat it. And those skills... just how much was he still hiding from everyone and still is ?’

Elisa had instructed the staff to summon that beast near him so that it could at least exhaust him a little. However, things had once again failed to go according to Elisa’s expectations.

She let out a long sigh as she continued watching Asher’s figure move through the forest. There was nothing she could do to change what had already happened.

After thinking about it for a moment, Elisa finally stopped worrying about what would happen next. At this point, there was simply no way to change the situation anymore.

...

Inside the virtual test, Asher continued moving toward the special area. Fortunately, he didn’t encounter another monster along the way after fighting the previous beast.

After running for almost three minutes, Asher finally saw the special area in the distance. Everything looked almost exactly the same as before, except for one noticeable difference.

The barrier surrounding the special area was already green when Asher reached it. Asher immediately understood what that meant and slowed down as he approached the barrier.

Someone had already reached the area before Asher. He looked at the green barrier for a moment before muttering, "I took too much time to defeat that beast."

Asher then entered the barrier, and the moment he stepped inside, its color changed from green to yellow, indicating that another student had entered the special area.

Asher then looked toward the boy who had already reached the area before him. The boy had been staring at Asher since he arrived, with a slightly frightened expression.

Asher looked at the boy for a moment. He had no idea who the boy was, and honestly, he didn’t care about knowing who he was either.

He simply looked at the boy, who continued staring at him with that slightly frightened expression, before finally speaking in his usual casual tone to him.

"What are you waiting for? Let’s finish this quickly. I have to rest too after this," Asher said, sounding almost impatient as he waited for the boy to respond.

When the boy heard this, his body slightly shook as he finally came out of his thoughts. He looked directly at Asher and remembered their previous encounter.

’Don’t be scared. He’s the same as me in this test. I can defeat him. It won’t be like last time. I’ll take my revenge this time.’

The boy mentally repeated those words several times, desperately trying to motivate himself and convince his mind that he could actually defeat Asher this time.

However, even after repeating those thoughts several times, the boy couldn’t stop himself from feeling afraid whenever he looked at Asher again.

He still remembered the fear and pain from their previous encounter, when Asher had defeated him so easily. It had been one of the most frightening experiences of his life.

The memory remained deeply rooted in his mind, making it difficult for him to calm himself even though he knew they had been placed at the same level.

The boy clenched his fists and tried to control his fear. He knew that running away wasn’t an option anymore, especially after already entering the special area.
