(Author’s POV)

After a long pause from the other end, Noah finally said, "Alright~ ... I understand," his voice calm. "You all should prepare for your departure. I will notify your mother and sister. They won’t be returning to Esteria and will come straight to Kimberg."

"But~ ... father~ ... shouldn’t we investigate the matter? The attack, Fabian’s death, the treaty, this whole situation here~ .... makes all of us sceptical," Alaric spoke, trying to sound calm and rational, yet his tone held a slight edge.

"Alaric, I heard every word you said. But that is the vampire clan’s personal business. We have no right or authority to meddle in their affairs. Also, the pack and the company need your attention more. You all have been away for too long. I will schedule a private jet," Noah replied, his voice commanding, giving no room for discussion.

Thanks to their exceptional hearing powers, the other brothers heard the conversation as well. Dion couldn’t help himself and snatched the phone from Alaric’s hand and uttered, "Father, what about the Miracle family? The hostile circumstances of the vampires have made entire Esteria a dangerous place. It is not safe for them to be here."

With another stretching silence, Noah sighed and muttered, "Send me Mr. Miracle’s contact. I will arrange something for them. You all~ ... after attending Prof. Stephens’ funeral, start packing." With these final words, Noah disconnected the call.

The brothers glanced at each other. None of them wanted to go, at least not like this, not leaving Myra, their fated mate, behind. But how could they tell this to their father? None of them had the answer.

This was final now. They had no choice but to return to Kimberg.

Dion noticed Brave’s shirt and a dried, faint red stain on it. He got closer and sniffed twice, and his eyes glowed. He asked sharply, "Rave, why is Myra’s blood on you? What happened to her?"

Alaric’s sapphires zeroed in on Brave too. He didn’t comment, just waited for his twin’s answer.

Brave shared a complicated look with Elio, pursing his lips. Dion grabbed him by the collar and questioned once again, "I asked~ .... why is Myra’s blood on your shirt, Brave?"

Elio quickly came between them. "Bro Dio, it’s not what you’re thinking."

Dion didn’t back down. Alaric, with a rather evened-out tone, asked, "Rave, Eli, what is going on? Tell us."

"Ahhh~ ...." They both hesitated. Elio then answered, "It is indeed Myra’s blood. She~ .... fed it to~ .... Garry Yates."

"Huhh???" "She did WHAT??" Both Alaric and Dion exclaimed together, their expressions filled with disbelief.

"To save his life, she gave her blood to Garry," Brave confirmed. "She cut her palm and made him drink her blood." He paused, then added, "And~.... she now knows about the scheme and what he did to her and her birth mother."

The other two were stunned, to say the least. They couldn’t utter a single word. Brave continued, "She went ahead of us, and when we reached there, she had already given her blood to him. I thought~ .... Garry forced her to save his own skin, so, in a moment of a fit, I blurted everything out."

Alaric and Dion’s faces changed color like chameleons. "After knowing the truth, what did she say then?" Dion inquired.

"She~ ...." Brave’s voice trailed off as he recalled their conversation from the car.

*Around an hour ago*

"Mrs. Yates, we will be taking our leave now," Brave said, looking at Diana and the others.

Diana nodded, thanking them once again, "Mr. Everests, thank you for all your help. Thank you for saving my husband."

At her words, Brave just gave a half-smile.

"Myra~ ..." Diana called her name, her tone unusually affectionate. "Take care of yourself."

Myra nodded. "Ma’am, last night was quite hectic for you all. You should rest now," she said, her tone polite, distant.

Diana hummed as Henry took her to her room. Liliana spoke, "Yelena, see them off."

"Ok, Mom," Yelena replied as the four of them made their way out of the hospital.

Brave and Elio went to get the car, giving Myra and Yelena some space. Once they were out of sight, Yelena spoke, "Myra~ .... if it weren’t for you guys. My grandpa would have been...." She left her words unsaid, her nose stinging.

Myra licked her lips. "Don’t think of anything else. Your grandfather is going to be fine now. Take a few days off and spend them with your family."

Yelena hugged her, her hold tight. Myra patted her back in comfort, neither of them saying another word. When Yelena saw the car approaching, she whispered, "Myra~ .... can you help me with something?"

Myra agreed without thinking, "Say it."

"I~ .... I think I like Brave. Help me with it," Yelena confessed.

Myra’s whole being went rigid from top to toe. Her fists clenched as she listened to her friend’s words.

The car stopped right then as Yelena pulled away. Giving Myra a brief smile and taking her hand, she mumbled, "You are close with him. I can only ask you. Please, help me." After what happened in the past twenty-four hours and how Brave has helped her family, she was certain of her feelings.

Myra didn’t know how to react. She remained rooted to her spot. Elio’s voice snapped her back, "Myra, get in." She pulled her hand away at once from Yelena’s hold and settled in the back seat.

After saying their goodbyes, the car drove off in silence.

’I think I like Brave. Help me with it, hmm,’ Yelena’s confession was replaying in Myra’s mind like a broken record. A dull ache settled in her chest. Her sudden confession had left Myra blindsided.

"Myra~ .... Are you alright? Why are you so quiet?" Brave broke the silence.

Myra shook off those thoughts and answered, "I am fine, just a little tired."

"Ummm~ .... if you don’t mind, can I~ ... ask you something?" Brave queried.

Myra hummed, permitting him.

"Why did you forgive Mr. Yates?" he asked. "He was one of the conspirators. You hate liars, don’t you?"

Myra didn’t speak for a while. Letting out a heavy sigh, she replied, "Who said I forgave him?"

"But we thought, you~ ...." Elio uttered, not knowing how to put it.

"After knowing everything, how can I forgive him this easily? I was just repaying the debt I owed him," Myra’s voice was absolute. "And~ ... in the first place, it is not my place to give him forgiveness. It is Amy he should apologize to."

"Amy~ .... Mrs. Amy Garcia?" Elio questioned, confused. "What has this got to do~ ...." He stopped midway as realization donned on him, "Myra, is Mrs. Garcia .... is she your biological mother?"
