Master of Nine Stars
Chapter 592: To the Death
Chapter 592: Chapter 358: To the Death
“BZZZZ…” From within the enemy ranks, the Snow General Candle let out a wail. It had been charging on horseback, but now it instantly fell from its mount.
And Rong Taotao, standing atop the Snow Ghost Hand, swayed slightly after exiting the world of Wind, Flower, Snow, and Moon.
“Taotao.” At his side, Rong Ling quickly took a step back to stand behind Rong Taotao. It propped up his arms with its hands, its small helmet pressing against his spine to support its master’s backward-leaning body.
But Rong Taotao curled his left thumb inward, and in turn, the giant Snow Ghost Hand’s thumb curled toward its palm. Rong Taotao reached out with his right hand and grabbed the massive finger, steadying himself.
“Go. Find Yin Hu.” Rong Taotao shook his head, gesturing to the Snowball Cat crouched on top of his head. “I’ve pretty much wrecked the Snow General Candle. It’s Yin Hu’s turn.”
Although the Snowball Cat didn’t understand every word, it got the general idea.
“Meow~” With a soft cry, the Snowball Cat scurried down the giant finger of the Snow Ghost Hand and along its long arm…
In truth, Rong Taotao and the Snow General Candle hadn’t spent much time in the world of Wind, Flower, Snow, and Moon. Rong Taotao planned to conserve his strength to face the incoming Corpse Tide. He didn’t want to be completely burned out.
Fighting a creature like the Snow General Candle was far easier than Rong Taotao had imagined!
The last time he trained with his Little Souls, Rong Taotao had dragged a Pirate Leader Snow Ape into the world of Wind, Flower, Snow, and Moon, but the illusionary tree branches had to pierce the Pirate Leader Snow Ape one by one.
This time, however, Rong Taotao had held a Snow Burst Ball and shoved it directly into the Snow General Candle’s head. The rapidly spinning Snow Burst Ball never exploded, but every second, it inflicted immense damage on the Snow General Candle.
In fact, within the world of Wind, Flower, Snow, and Moon, Rong Taotao’s understanding of the Soul Skill: Snow Burst had become even more profound, and it had even leveled up…
The Snow Burst spun faster and grew larger, becoming the size of a soccer ball!
‘The biological structure of a creature like the Snow General Candle is really… hm, interesting.’
At this moment, the Snow General Candle had fallen from its horse, which meant Rong Taotao’s method of attack was extremely effective. His opponent had clearly suffered a grievous wound.
“Thank you.” Rong Taotao reached back and pulled Rong Ling, who had been supporting him, to his front. He saw Rong Ling looking up, its little face tilted and its pair of candle-like eyes flickering.
“Go help Mom… uh, go help your mistress,” Rong Taotao said.
Rong Ling tilted its small head and blinked. “Mom?”
As they spoke, Yin Hu’s incredibly resonant voice suddenly boomed from the chaotic battlefield below!
“BATTLE!!!”
Apparently, the Snowball Cat had already linked its vision with Yin Hu, and Yin Hu had issued a challenge to the Snow General Candle for a one-on-one duel!
Of course, this so-called “challenge” was merely a notification. It didn’t have the option to refuse!
“BZZZ!!!” The Snow General Candle cried out, and it was impossible to tell if it was a scream of pain or a battle cry.
Unlike Wind, Flower, Snow, and Moon, time inside the Snow Prison Arena flows at the same rate as in the real world. Everything happens in sync.
To get out of the Snow Prison Arena, one must either win or lose, or one party must flee by jumping off the cliff. Given the current situation between the two combatants, there was no way Yin Hu and the Snow General Candle were going to shake hands and make peace!
FLAP~ FLAP~ A snowy-white Mengmeng Xiao flapped its wings and materialized near Rong Taotao’s knee.
“Mengmeng Xiao, can you see that Snow General Candle?” Rong Taotao pointed in its general direction. Having lost the Snowball Cat’s shared vision, he could no longer spot the Snow General Candle among the chaotic army.
As a new companion, the Mengmeng Xiao couldn’t yet understand human speech. However, the direction Rong Taotao pointed was clear, and among the heaps of Snow Ghosts and Snow Corpses, one figure stood out as unique.
As a Snow Realm Soul Beast and a member of the owl family, the Mengmeng Xiao’s eyesight was extremely sharp, and its field of vision in the dark was terrifyingly wide!
Unfortunately, it didn’t have a Soul Skill like Pupil Sharing and couldn’t grant vision to a human Soul Martial Artist. Otherwise, it might have been even more useful than the Snowball Cat.
“Hoo?” A questioning sound came from the Mengmeng Xiao. It twisted its head to look at Rong Ling at its side, spread its wings in a threatening posture, and showed great hostility!
Rong Taotao froze for a moment, then immediately understood. He nodded repeatedly. “Right, it looks like Rong Ling, but that’s not it!”
As he spoke, Rong Taotao scooped up Rong Ling with one hand and tossed it down from their high vantage point, throwing it in Gao Lingwei’s direction.
Gao Lingwei was standing in front of the brightly glowing Tree Castle, and Xu Yiyu was holding a blood-red banner high. There was no wind or snow there, so they were easy to spot.
Rong Ling: “…”
Rong Taotao once again pointed toward the approximate location of the Snow General Candle from memory. “Attack, attack!”
“Hoot!” The Mengmeng Xiao beat its wings and soared into the air.
Rong Taotao jumped in fright. With lightning-fast reflexes, he snatched one of its legs.
FLAP~ FLAP~ Dangling in the air, the Mengmeng Xiao flapped its wings frantically. It twisted its head and stared at Rong Taotao with a completely bewildered expression…
Rong Taotao was scared to death!
‘Man, you’re reckless!’
‘Can’t you see the Corpse Tide army? You really dare to fly over there and attack!?’
‘You shouldn’t be called Mengmeng Xiao! More like Muddle-Headed Xiao!’
‘My intention was for the Mengmeng Xiao to attack from its current position. If it flew over there, wouldn’t a single moment of carelessness get it torn to shreds by the Corpse Tide army?’
Rong Taotao forcibly dragged the Mengmeng Xiao back and perched it on his shoulder, once again pointing toward the Snow General Candle’s general location with one hand.
“Hoo~” The Mengmeng Xiao seemed to finally understand. It spread its wings and let out a screech toward the sky.
