Chapter 580: Chapter 580 Plans Can’t Keep Up with Changes

One second.

Two seconds.

Unwittingly, a minute had passed.

It was as if the Universe had been pressed pause, not a single person spoke, and not a single person moved.

Everyone’s brain was in a state of system crash.

Until Homelander slowly spoke, breaking the suffocating silence.

"Declare the match over," Homelander said in a flat, matter-of-fact tone. "I have other things to attend to."

This sentence was like dropping cold water into a boiling pan of oil.

It exploded! The entire audience instantly exploded!

All the alien spectators jumped out of their seats, frantically grabbing their hair, staring wide-eyed at the corpse split in half.

Deafening screams, unbelievable roars, and terrified wails swept through the entire gladiatorial arena.

"What the fuck... Did you guys see what happened?! Is that Thanos?! That must be a dummy!"

"Impossible! This is definitely an illusion! How did Thanos suddenly turn into two halves?!"

"My money! My interstellar mine! This is impossible! This is a rigged game!!"

"I’m never gambling again! I want to go home! This Universe has gone crazy!"

"I think we need to list Earth as the highest-level restricted zone in the Universe. Whoever provokes him dies!"

On the platform.

The heroes froze in place, their faces full of disbelief.

Tony Stark slowly took off the sunglasses on his face, rubbed his eyes, and put them back on.

"Steve, you have to promise me one thing. After we go back, if I ever get drunk and want to provoke him, you must beat me to death. Don’t hold back at all."

Star-Lord Quill whistled with feigned composure: "Actually, if I were the one in the arena, I would use this move too. You know, just pulling out a gun and hitting him while he’s talking. I understand this tactic, it’s very practical. If I had laser eyes, I could do it too."

Meanwhile, looking at the split-in-half Thanos, Nebula was filled with a myriad of thoughts.

The adoptive father who brought her endless nightmares had just died like this.

He died so easily, without even leaving a complete last word.

She originally thought that when this day truly arrived, her heart would be a mix of sorrow and joy.

She would feel empty due to losing the only goal in her life.

But unexpectedly, getting her revenge made her feel extremely gratified.

It was as if the chains pressing down on her soul had been melted away by that red light.

She was finally free.

At this moment, the Earthlings, who were used to big scenes, were also amused by this absurd scene, and the World plunged into an ocean of joy.

"Hahaha! I’m fucking dying of laughter!"

"Thanos: I used to... Homelander: You used to be a complete grape, now you’ve split open!"

"The fastest face-slapping in history! Homelander doesn’t want to listen to you talk, and gave you a laser!"

"I just lowered my head to pick up a lighter, can someone tell me why Thanos split open?"

"Homelander’s look: Stop talking nonsense, I’m in a rush to get off work."

"The surgery was very successful, the patient has been perfectly separated. Vought Medical is trustworthy."

By this time, Homelander had already returned to the staging platform.

As soon as he landed, before he could speak.

Nebula pounced forward, completely disregarding the gazes of others, wrapped her arms around Homelander’s neck, and gave him a quick and clumsy kiss, even clashing against Homelander’s teeth.

After kissing, Nebula immediately stepped back half a step.

She glanced around and found that Tony, Steve, Quill, and the others all had their eyes wide open, looking at her with varied expressions.

Nebula’s partially purple face put on a fierce look, angrily scolding the crowd: "What are you looking at! What’s so good about it! Don’t you Earthlings do this kind of thing every day? What’s there to make a fuss about!"

The crowd looked at each other in dismay, then neatly turned their heads to look elsewhere, pretending they hadn’t seen anything.

After the noise subsided, Homelander chuckled lightly and said: "It’s over, everyone. Once the Grandmaster hands over the Infinity Stones to us, we will return to Earth immediately."

The crowd was stunned.

"Over?" Steve frowned, somewhat puzzled.

"Bro, isn’t it only three to three?" Thor asked doubtfully, "The Grandmaster said if it’s a tie, there’s going to be overtime."

Hearing this, Star-Lord Quill burst into laughter.

He glanced around and explained to the crowd with full confidence:

"Haha! I get it! Homelander is recognizing my strength!"

"He knows I’m playing in overtime, and he thinks I’m bound to secure the upcoming victory! Right, buddy?"

Homelander gave Quill a look as if looking at an idiot.

"Not really."

"It’s just the literal meaning. The match is already over. You’ll find out in a moment."

The crowd was left completely confused by Homelander’s baffling words.

In fact, Homelander’s original plan was not like this.

Following his usual style, he would have a stirring, epic battle with Thanos in the gladiatorial arena.

He would deliberately show weakness first, letting Thanos display an invincible posture to maximize the feeling of despair.

Then, at a critical moment, he would burst out with a counter-kill, deliver a touching speech about "love and bonds", thereby maximizing the harvest of the audience’s popularity value.

But plans can’t keep up with changes.

The reason he gave up this wave of massive leeks and chose to instantly kill Thanos in the most brutal way was precisely the emergency intelligence reported just now by Skynet through the quantum communicator.

Just a moment ago, Skynet reported that the time machine project had been declared complete.

This should have been good news, but following it was a fatal crisis sufficient to trigger the collapse of the Universe.

The moment the time machine started testing, Skynet detected a high-intensity spacetime dislocation response.

This anomaly source did not belong to the current Universe, but came from an unknown dimension outside the timeline.

Someone forcibly cut into their timeline with an unknown purpose.

Furthermore, Skynet deployed surveillance based on the energy spectrum and found that a group of unknown armed personnel was secretly invading.

Facing this unknown invasion, Skynet immediately dispatched multiple Superheroes stationed at Vought Headquarters to capture them.

However, the result was unexpected.

Those heroes sent out were mostly bizarrely missing after being hit by some glowing stick-like weapon used by the opponent.

As if erased by an eraser.

Even more frighteningly, Skynet observed that this group of intruders seemed to have the ability to locally manipulate time.

And that group of people subsequently disappeared into an unknown Portal.

After listening to these reports, Homelander immediately understood what had happened.

Dimensions outside the timeline, erasing existence, glowing sticks.

This fucking has to be people from the Time Variance Authority!

If he wasted time in the gladiatorial arena for a mere bit of popularity value and let these people mess around on Earth, he’s afraid even his old nest would be uprooted.

This was also why he acted out of character, not even letting Thanos finish a word of nonsense, and directly instantly killing him.

He had to end this farce at the fastest speed and rush back to Earth to deal with this huge variable.
