Marvel: God of Spotlight, The Homelander
Chapter 578 You Deserve It
Chapter 578: Chapter 578 You Deserve It
Peter stepped forward and sighed softly.
"You are back, Thor."
He kindly reached out and gently patted Thor’s arm in comfort, saying, "However, you can listen to the outside."
Thor was stunned for a moment and listened intently.
On the gladiatorial arena, countless alien spectators were shouting his name in unison.
"Thor! Thor! Thor!"
Wave after wave of sound crashed down, deafeningly loud.
A look of ecstatic joy instantly appeared on Thor’s face.
He grabbed Peter’s shoulder and said excitedly, "I wi—"
"You lost."
Before Peter Parker could let Thor finish, he hurriedly interrupted him and spoke the cruel truth.
"Uh..."
Seeing Thor frozen on the spot, Peter felt a bit unbearable and tried to make his words sound a little better.
"You lost. But... you lost very beautifully... No, I mean, you lost very well... Uh, that doesn’t seem right either. Anyway, you tried your best!"
Evidently, these words did not play a very good role.
Peter always couldn’t find the right vocabulary to describe Thor’s recent feat.
He had no choice but to look helplessly at Homelander, hoping this spiritual mentor could come to save the day.
Homelander smiled slightly, stepped forward, patted Peter’s shoulder, and motioned for him to step back.
Seeing Homelander coming over, Thor felt he had no face to face his brother, and his eyes grew even dimmer.
"I lost... brother."
"Yes, you lost." Homelander crouched down, his palm resting gently on Thor’s shoulder. "But you are glorious in defeat."
"A loss is a loss, don’t come to comfort me, brother. I let you all down, I failed to hold this round, failed to..."
Thor shook his head, full of self-blame.
"Shut up, let me finish." Homelander interrupted him unmercifully. "Peter is right, you lost this duel."
"However, lift your head up, my brother. Listen carefully to the cheers outside."
Homelander pointed outside the arena and continued, "They are not cheering for the victor; they are paying tribute to a true warrior. The unyielding spirit you displayed in despair, and the burning will you possessed to protect, have earned the respect of the entire Universe."
"I will not blame you in the least for this defeat; on the contrary, I am proud of you. You proved the glory of Asgard and the backbone of Earth!"
"You will always be my brother, and always one of the most trustworthy solid shields in this team."
"Leave the subsequent mess to me. I will handle everything."
"Thank you, brother..."
This heavy trust and tolerance made Thor feel that at this moment Homelander was more like a father to him than Odin.

Uh-huh, knowing how to be grateful makes a good boy! Homelander nodded repeatedly in his heart.
"And..." Homelander added, "Look for a quiet place later and recall this battle properly."
"Once you remember it and master that feeling..."
"You will become a true god... unstoppable!" Homelander said as if it were serious, "Except for me."
Thor listened to Homelander’s words with some bewilderment.
But he still nodded hard, deeply engraving this instruction in his heart.
At this moment, other heroes also stepped forward one after another, praising Thor’s performance just now.
"Homelander is right, Thor." Steve praised, "Your performance just now made all of us proud; you displayed a true warrior spirit."
Even Ancient One nodded slightly: "Your spirit was sublimated in the battle just now; this is a precious trial."
Listening to everyone’s praise, Thor’s mood finally improved a little.
He smiled a little sheepishly.
But soon, the smile on his face collapsed again.
He suddenly remembered the current severe situation.
"We lost this match, and the score is three to two. Black Order has reached match point."
The look he gave Homelander was filled with worry.
"The next match will definitely be you. If you win against that purple sweet potato, the score will be three to three. But..."
Thor’s gaze crossed over everyone and landed on Star-Lord Peter Quill.
"But what about the overtime in the match after next? Are we going to hand the fate of Midgard over to the idiot Quill?"
"Hey!"
Peter Quill immediately jumped up in a reflex.
"Don’t call me idiot Quill!" Quill glared with wide eyes, strode in front of Thor, and said, "I am Star-Lord! The strongest combat power of Guardians of the Galaxy!"
He patted his chest and boasted with absolute certainty: "Listen up, I took down Ronan the Accuser! And countless cosmic monsters! I can single-handedly take on an entire fleet! As long as I go on stage, no matter who the opponent’s substitute is, they will definitely wet their pants upon hearing my name!"
Looking at Quill’s arrogant appearance, everyone had a huge question mark in their hearts.
Is it really reliable to hand the fate of Earth over to this guy?
But at this moment, they had no other choice.
Overtime was bound to come, and Quill was the only substitute.
It’s not like they could kill him and say they couldn’t find a substitute, forcing Homelander to fight another match...
"Good job, Quill. It’s up to you." Steve managed to squeeze out a smile.
"Listen up, Flying Man Columbus." Tony looked Quill up and down. "If in the upcoming battle, you can guarantee not to trip over your own shoelaces and happen to save the entire Universe—"
"I swear, when I get back to New York, I will personally shell out the money to build a solid gold statue for your lousy radio in Central Park. So, don’t mess it up."
"You got it!" Quill said confidently: "Get your gold ready, Stark."
On the other side, the preparation platform of Black Order appeared much more desolate.
No cheers, no celebrations, only silence.
"Well done."
Thanos looked at Dago, who was teleported back, and praised: "You have proven your value to me."
With a cold face, Dago walked unceremoniously toward Thanos.
"I don’t need to prove anything to you, Thanos," Dago said straightforwardly. "My business is done. According to our agreement, give me the control key of Black Order."
Thanos twitched the corner of his mouth, revealing a smile without any warmth.
"What you deserve." A metal cylinder emitting a dark purple glow appeared in his palm.
This was the highest-authority key controlling the entire Black Order fleet and biochemical army.
Thanos tossed the key toward Dago.
Dago caught it steadily. After confirming it was correct, without saying another word of nonsense, he turned around and left the platform.
Thanos didn’t care about Dago’s departure either.
For Thanos, he had already won this gladiatorial contest.
He did not look down on Homelander.
On the contrary, he attached great importance to this sudden emergence of Earth’s powerhouse.
The power displayed by Homelander was enough to make any cosmic overlord feel wary.
But the trump card Thanos currently possessed gave him absolute confidence.
He gently flipped his palm.
In his palm, a transparent cube slowly appeared.
