Chapter 6487: Senior, Why Didn’t You Help Me?
“This isn’t good!” Wen Xue’s eyes narrowed.
She didn’t think the red monstrous beast could grow even stronger. At this rate, she had to worry about whether she and Chu Feng could even safely leave the ocean realm or not.
Tzzzz!
Chu Feng changed his hand seal, and more lightning branches surged at the red monstrous beast. This time, the lightning branches encircled the red monstrous beast and attacked it from different angles.
The red monstrous beast would shred the lightning branches as soon as it came within range, but the lightning branches simply regrew infinitely and continued their assault.
“Junior Chu Feng, you...” Wen Xue looked at Chu Feng with complicated eyes.
The tree could only regrow its branches so quickly thanks to Chu Feng channeling it, but that also resulted in the weakening of Chu Feng’s consciousness.
Wen Xue felt helpless. She couldn’t tell Chu Feng to stop fighting, or else the red monstrous beast would simply crush them. Their only option was to go all out.
“You’re still struggling?” Jie Tianran sneered, knowing that Chu Feng wouldn’t last long at this rate. The latter was merely stalling for time.
It was unlikely that Chu Feng would sustain any tangible damage if his consciousness dissipated here, but that ought to spell his disqualification from this trial. Even if he could enter the cavern once more, his progress was bound to be a step slower.
Soon, Jie Tianran’s smile faded. He realized that he had underestimated Chu Feng.
Despite Chu Feng’s consciousness flickering unstably, it refused to extinguish.
While he was still holding on, the ocean realm continued to collapse. Seeing that, Jie Tianran and the entity beside him got on top of the red monstrous beast and made their way toward the spirit formation gate. They had decided to leave instead of holding their ground.
But Chu Feng was prepared for that as well.
More branches extended from the tree. Some blocked Jie Tianran’s path, whereas the others reinforced the seal on the spirit formation gate.
The red monstrous beast furiously shredded the tree branches, but more tree branches grew out to block the path. The red monstrous beast was destroying the tree branches faster than they could regrow, so it was only a matter of time before the seal was breached, but the problem was that the ocean realm was collapsing too quickly.
Time was not on Jie Tianran’s side.
“Forget it, Jie Tianran. Return the energy to him. We can deal with him in the subsequent caverns,” the entity advised.
“That brat might think I’m afraid of him if I keep conceding. I’ll start this trial from scratch if necessary. Worse comes to worst, I’ll give up on this legacy. It’s not like I’m lacking in legacies.”
But Jie Tianran took a tough stance this time. He ignored the entity’s order and was determined to push this to the very end.
“Forget it, Junior Chu Feng. That loser grandfather of yours isn’t a human. He’s a mad dog. There’s no point pitting it out with him. You won’t bite a dog just because a dog bites you, right? Don’t forget our goal here. Let him go. It’s just a small setback,” Wen Xue advised.
Chu Feng didn’t answer, but his unyielding expression said it all.
Left with no choice, Wen Xue could only coerce Chu Feng into giving in, “Junior Chu Feng, can’t you do it for me? You owe me a favor, remember? You know I want the item in here. Are you not going to repay my favor anymore?”
That worked like a charm. Chu Feng hesitated before retracting the tree branches sealing the spirit formation gate.
“Hmph...” Jie Tianran snorted. He finally managed to get back at Chu Feng after being humiliated in the desert realm. With a triumphant smirk, he rode the red monstrous beast out of the ocean realm.
Chu Feng also left the ocean realm with Wen Xue. He had gained greater control over the tree, allowing him to shrink it much faster than before.
The two of them returned to the stone realm.
“Not bad, Junior Chu Feng. At least you do have some respect for me.” Wen Xue nodded in satisfaction.
Chu Feng had intended to pit it out with his grandfather earlier. He had only given in because of Wen Xue.
“That goes without saying, but senior... Even Jie Tianran had the aid of that old monster, so why did you just watch the commotion and not lend a helping hand?” Chu Feng asked.
“I’d love to help you, junior, but there’s nothing I can do.” Wen Xue looked indignant.
“Didn’t you bring a bloodline power in?”
“I did, but I couldn’t use it.”
“Really?”
“Of course! I wouldn’t lie to you.”
“All right. Let’s continue.” Chu Feng remained motivated, even though he had conceded because of Wen Xue.
“Which one do we go next?” Wen Xue asked.
Chu Feng had previously told her that they needed to enter four caverns in the right order, but there were so many caverns in this stone realm that she had no idea which one to enter. They would have to start from scratch if they entered the wrong one.
“We’re entering the one you want to enter the most,” Chu Feng replied.
“Finally!”
Wen Xue was overjoyed since the item was finally within reach. She entered the cavern first, and Chu Feng followed closely behind.
The two of them were transported into a lush forest realm.
Even the shortest tree here was at least fifty meters tall. The taller ones could easily reach thousands of meters in height. The contrast in height made Chu Feng and Wen Xue look like ants, and it didn’t help that they were currently just conscious beings without their cultivation.
This forest realm was larger than the previous two realms. There were creatures residing in this forest, and bugs could be heard buzzing in the surroundings. The buzzes were so loud that they resembled roars of ferocious beasts.
Both Jie Tianran and the entity accompanying him were nowhere to be seen, but it was certain that they were already here. Jie Tianran understood the importance of claiming the initiative, so he would have entered right away.
Chances were that they were simply transported to a different place.
“Junior Chu Feng, I can feel it. Quick, come with me,” Wen Xue said as she sprinted off in a direction. She had a wide grin that reflected her excitement.
Chu Feng was curious what the item she coveted was.
