Caleb Summers’s gaze fell on Anne Sutton. He looked at her and said, "You’re not going to say something you shouldn’t in front of my parents, are you?"

He remembered how much Anne Sutton had come to despise him lately.

If she suddenly decided to get revenge, wouldn’t he be in a miserable spot?

’I have to be on guard!’

Anne Sutton said, "I wasn’t thinking about it, but now that you mention it, I’m actually tempted..."

"Anne, I was wrong!" Caleb Summers said. "There’s no need for that! No need at all! We can solve our own problems. It’s just about Charles Prescott, right? I won’t give him a hard time anymore, okay?"

"You’re still talking?" Anne Sutton looked at Caleb Summers. "Are you looking for a death wish?"

’If he wants to die, fine!’

’But why does he have to drag me down with him?’

’Does he think I’m annoyed with him just because he humiliated Charles Prescott?’

’It’s obviously because he keeps stirring up trouble!’

Caleb Summers quickly shut his mouth.

Anne Sutton said to Nathan Fawcett, "I’m going to take Ian to get some rest. We’re tired after running around outside."

Nathan Fawcett nodded and instructed a nearby servant to show Anne Sutton and Ian to their room.

Anne Sutton took Ian upstairs.

Caleb Summers said, "Nathan, do you think... she really has feelings for Charles Prescott? Why is she still so angry about what happened last time?"

Nathan Fawcett glanced at him. "Can you stop spouting nonsense?"

Caleb Summers said, "I’m just looking out for you! You’re so good to her. What if she’s secretly thinking about that other man all the time? Wouldn’t that drive you crazy?"

"I wouldn’t be, if you’d just shut up!"

This topic had always been a sore spot for Nathan Fawcett.

Of all the men, Charles Prescott was the one who bothered him the most.

After all, Charles Prescott and Anne Sutton were practically childhood sweethearts.

Even though Charles later turned into a real scumbag.

But Caleb Summers constantly stirring the pot, speculating that Anne Sutton still had Charles Prescott in her heart, was still unsettling.

Caleb Summers said, "Oh, right. I came over today because there’s something else I wanted to tell you!"

"What is it?" Nathan Fawcett glanced at him, asking quizzically.

Caleb Summers leaned in and whispered in his ear.

Upon hearing Caleb Summers’s words, Nathan Fawcett’s face darkened.

...

In their room, Anne Sutton and Ian changed their clothes.

It was a bit cooler here than in the city.

She rested for a while. When she brought Ian downstairs, she found that Nathan Fawcett was gone.

’No idea where he went!’

She asked a servant who was preparing dinner, "Where’s Nathan Fawcett?"

"Mr. Fawcett went out. He left with Mr. Summers."

Hearing this, Anne Sutton frowned. ’So he and Caleb Summers actually do get along!’ she thought.

She didn’t ask anything else.

She took Ian for a walk around the area.

There were very few residents here.

There were a few villas that looked like they were specifically used for vacation homes.

Anne Sutton hadn’t walked far before she saw some shops. She took Ian to buy a few trinkets. The small town here was quite interesting, full of local character.

She bought Ian an ice cream, and on their way back, they happened to see Nathan Fawcett.

Standing next to Nathan was a little boy who looked to be about Ian’s age.

"Daddy!" Ian shouted as soon as he saw Nathan Fawcett.

Anne Sutton let go of his hand, and he immediately ran toward Nathan Fawcett.

Anne Sutton followed.

The little boy standing in front of Nathan Fawcett turned his head.

A face that was strikingly similar to Nathan’s came into view, and Anne Sutton froze.

’Holy crap!’

’Is this...’

’Ian’s twin?’

If it weren’t for a few subtle differences, Anne Sutton would have been unable to tell them apart!

This little guy looked so much like Nathan Fawcett!

It was like he was carved from the very same mold!

...

The little boy stared wide-eyed at Ian, who had just run up to him.

Ian was also stunned by the little boy in front of him, who looked almost identical to himself.

Ian said, "This is..."

The strange little boy looked up at Nathan Fawcett and said, "Daddy, is this my older brother?"

Hearing that one word, "Daddy," Anne Sutton felt her knees go weak.

’D... Daddy?’

’Why is this little kid calling Nathan Fawcett ’Daddy’?’

She looked up at Nathan Fawcett. ’This man...’

’He has another child besides Ian?’

’And he’s been raising him in his hometown all this time?’

’Is he finally dropping the act and going to tell me the truth?’

’No wonder he was gone for so long. He went to see his son!’

Anne Sutton felt a profound sense of unease, but in front of the two children, she didn’t say anything.

She just said, "Ian, let’s go back."

She walked over, took her son’s hand, and led him back to the house.

Dinner was already being prepared at the house.

The servants had dinner ready and had also sent a portion up to the old master.

Caleb Summers’s family had all gone home for dinner.

Anne Sutton sat down with Ian.

Still finding what just happened hard to believe, she then saw Nathan Fawcett returning, holding the little boy.

Anne Sutton’s expression darkened as well.

’I can’t quite say why...’

But she felt that awful, post-betrayal sting.

It was in this very moment that she realized how much she still liked this man.

She had trusted him unconditionally, believing he was the best man in the world!

Now, knowing he had another child besides Ian—that he wasn’t hers alone—her heart instantly grew cold.

Nathan Fawcett placed the child in a seat next to him. Ian’s expression turned glum as he watched his father holding someone else.

Nathan Fawcett said, "Let me introduce you. This is Finn. He’s my son. He’s a little younger than Ian. Ian, from now on, you should call him ’little brother’."

"..." Anne Sutton looked up at Nathan Fawcett and said, "Your son? Why have you never mentioned this before?"

Nathan Fawcett’s gaze fell upon Anne Sutton, his eyes still as gentle as if he had never deceived her. "I only found out today myself."

After speaking, Nathan Fawcett said to Finn, "Finn, this is Mommy."

Hearing this, Finn said, "But she’s not my mommy."

"..."

Nathan Fawcett frowned at this and explained, "I’m your daddy, and she’s going to marry me in the future. So you should call her Mommy."

Finn’s expression was complicated upon hearing Nathan Fawcett’s words.

Nathan Fawcett said, "It’s okay if you don’t want to call her that now. You can do it later when you’re used to it."

"There’s no need for that," Anne Sutton said. "I’m not his mother. Why are you forcing him? Ian is enough for me."

This little boy in front of her, even though he looked so much like Ian, so much like Nathan Fawcett...

’But he isn’t my and Nathan’s child!’

Anne Sutton felt no sense of kinship with him whatsoever.

She remembered when she first met Ian; she had felt a sense of familiarity at first sight.

But seeing this little boy now, she felt nothing of the sort.

’This must be the power of blood ties!’

Nathan Fawcett’s gaze fell on Anne Sutton. He wanted to say something, but it wasn’t appropriate to say it in front of the children...
