Make Me Yours, Alpha
Chapter 169: Dream car
Two weeks later, the entrance examination results were published on the Academy’s portal, and Alyssa aced it.
She didn’t just pass; she had scored the highest points out of every single applicant who sat for the exam, despite the sabotage that had nearly ruined her chance.
She sat in Dorian’s study, staring wide-eyed at the glowing screen in front of her, reading her name over and over again. Plastered right beneath it was her final score–471 out of 500 points.
The door creaked open behind her, and Dorian walked in, a phone pressed to his ear. He held a sleek, ribbon-wrapped gift box in his other hand. The moment his eyes met hers, his sharp features softened into a charming smile.
"Keep a close eye on him and his sister whenever they’re in the estate," he murmured into the receiver, his tone dropping into his authoritative Alpha command. After a brief pause, he added, "I don’t trust either of them, and I certainly don’t trust Conri... Alright, you’re dismissed."
He ended the call and slid the phone into his pocket, turning his full, undivided attention to Alyssa.
"You passed, didn’t you?" he said before she even had a chance to speak.
A radiant, dazzling smile lit up her entire face as she gave a vigorous nod. "I did!" she squealed, leaping up from the desk chair. "How did you know?"
"Why wouldn’t I?" Dorian chuckled, stepping forward and pulling her into his arms. "My wife is a brilliant, intelligent, beautiful woman."
She giggled, locking her arms around his neck as he leaned down and kissed her deeply. A soft, breathless sigh escaped her lips as his large hands tightened around her waist, pulling her flush against his chest.
When they finally pulled back, they shared a sweet, intimate smile.
"I am so proud of you, my love," Dorian murmured, his voice laced with sincerity. "I always knew you were the perfect Luna for Wintercrest. Now you’ve proven it to every single person who ever dared to doubt you."
"Well, I still have to prove it to them for three whole years before I actually graduate," Alyssa chuckled softly.
"You’ve already proven it," Dorian insisted, his thumbs gently caressing her hips through her clothes. "The three years of classes and the degree are just for show."
He stepped back slightly and presented the gift box to her. "Consider this a small token for your success. Despite everything that was thrown at you, including Elvira’s pathetic attempt to sabotage your day, you handled it perfectly, and I am fucking proud of you."
"Aww, Dorian," Alyssa gushed, her heart melting as she took the box from him. She eagerly tore away the decorative ribbon and wrapping paper, desperate to see what he had gotten for her.
When she lifted the lid and her eyes landed on the brand-new, ultra-sleek smartphone resting inside the plush lining, she let out a gasp.
"You bought me a new phone?" she whispered, looking up at him. "But Dorian, I already have one."
"You deserve the best," Dorian chuckled, thoroughly enjoying her reaction. "Especially now that you’re going to be surrounding yourself with peers your own age. I hear they love to flaunt their status, and there is no way I’ll allow anyone to outshine my Luna."
Alyssa burst into a bright, melodious laugh, the sound bubbling with genuine happiness. "You are unbelievable," she said, marveling at the sleek gadget before wrapping her arms tight around his neck. "Thank you, Dorian. I love you so much."
"I love you too, baby," he murmured, pressing a warm kiss to her cheek before pulling back just a fraction. "There’s something else."
Her eyebrows arched in surprise. "Something else?"
He flashed a devilish grin. "Go ahead. Check the bottom of the box."
She set the phone down on the desk and reached back into the velvet box. Her fingers brushed against a heavy leather key fob framed in polished metal. A distinct, bold "B" crest sat proudly in the center of the casing.
Her eyes slowly widened, her breath hitching as her gaze snapped up to meet Dorian’s. He was watching her intently, a smug, satisfied smirk playing at the corners of his lips.
"You didn’t," she gasped, an incredulous laugh already escaping her lips. "Dorian, tell me you didn’t."
"I most certainly did," he chuckled, winking at her. "Come on. Let’s go take a look at your new ride."
Alyssa let out an ecstatic scream and bolted out of the study, grabbing Dorian by the hand and yanking him along behind her. Her knees felt weak with excitement as she practically flew down the stairs.
She sprinted through the front door onto the porch and froze dead in her tracks, blinking in pure astonishment at the sleek, pitch-black Bentley Continental sitting in the center of the driveway.
The vehicle screamed of raw elegance and prestige, the kind that demanded immediate attention the moment it rolled into view. Its dark exterior gleamed flawlessly under the bright afternoon sun; sculpted, polished, and breathtaking.
Alyssa spun around to look at Dorian, her jaw slack, her bright eyes dancing with wild excitement.
"Dorian... I..." She couldn’t even assemble a proper sentence.
"Go on," Dorian murmured softly, stepping up behind her with his hands casually resting in his pockets. "Go check it out. It’s yours."
Alyssa sprinted down the porch steps toward the car, pressing her thumb against the key fob. The locks clicked open with a soft hum, and she pulled the driver’s door wide, inhaling the rich, crisp scent of fresh leather.
The interior was draped in the softest, most luxurious leather she had ever touched. The seats featured an intricate diamond-stitched design, and polished chrome dials gleamed against the dashboard like jewelry.
She slid effortlessly behind the wheel and squealed in delight, while Dorian stood near the porch, watching her with overwhelming pride. He couldn’t bring himself to tear his eyes away from her radiant happiness.
Abandoning the driver’s seat for a moment, she stepped out, trotted back up to him, and threw herself into his arms. He caught her with ease, a deep, rumbling laugh vibrating through his chest.
"Thank you," she whispered against his neck. "Oh, thank you so much, Dorian."
"You’re welcome, my love. Do you like it?"
"Like it?" She pulled back, staring at him as if he were insane. "I absolutely love it! I can’t even... I feel like my heart is going to burst with happiness!"
Dorian chuckled and leaned down to kiss her soundly, completely ignoring the estate guards who discreetly averted their gazes. He pulled back slightly, gently tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear.
"I’m glad you love it. I spent a long time trying to decide what would suit you best, and with Pandora and Henna’s input, we settled on this one."
"You are the most incredible husband anyone could ever ask for," Alyssa gushed, glowing from head to toe. "You treat me so wonderfully. You make me so happy."
"It’s my job," Dorian grinned wolfishly. "As your husband. And you deserve every bit of it."
She giggled and pressed another sweet kiss to his lips. "There’s just one problem, Dorian. I don’t even know how to drive."
"That isn’t a problem at all. Alec or André will chauffeur you wherever you want to go until you get your license."
"Will you teach me?" she asked hopefully.
He nodded without hesitation. "Of course I will. Whenever you’re ready."
Alyssa turned back to admire the sleek car resting in the sun. It still felt surreal. She had her own dream car.
Of course, Dorian’s fleet of exotic vehicles was technically hers too, as his wife, but this was her personal car. She couldn’t wait to learn.
"Do you want to take her out for a joyride right now?" Dorian asked, leaning down to her ear.
Her bright eyes sparkled like stars. "Yes! Oh goddess, yes! I would love that!"
Dorian immediately took her hand, leading her to the passenger side and opening the door for her. Once she was safely tucked inside, he rounded the hood, slid into the driver’s seat, and pressed the start button.
The twin-turbo engine roared to life with a deep, intoxicating growl. With a light spray of gravel beneath the tires, he accelerated down the long estate driveway, Alyssa’s thrilled, joyful squeals echoing out into the afternoon air.
