Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming!
Chapter 1483: Have You Ever Regretted It?
"Actually, I’m really doing fine... just missing you a bit. When I think of how aloof I used to be, how forceful and overbearing I was with you, I feel like the worst person in the world."
"Nicole, I really didn’t want to hurt you. I just wanted to keep you by my side, not let any other man have you. But I never faced my own feelings, never dared to say ’I love you’ to you..."
"Nicole, now I have so many ’I love you’s’ I want to say to you, yet you can never hear them again."
"Nicole, I love you... so, so much... Nicole, can you still hear me? Do you know how much I miss you?"
Jose Floyd sat alone in front of Nicole’s tombstone, speaking for several hours.
Ever since Nicole died, even when facing his good friend Jorge, he remained silent, only drinking continuously. Jorge understood him and quietly accompanied him.
All his words, he saved for her grave. It seemed like only in front of her was he willing to speak, willing to initiate discussions, just to keep her from being too lonely in the cold tomb.
Jose Floyd held a cigarette between his long fingers, looked up at the late sky, then stood up, speaking softly to Nicole’s tombstone, his voice slightly hoarse, "I’m leaving first. Rest here peacefully; I’ll come visit you again in a few days." Jose Floyd paused for a moment, looking at the photo on the tombstone, his gaze somewhat mournful, "Nicole, give me a dream, will you? I want to know if you are doing well down there. I’m worried about you; you always loved to pretend to be strong but got hurt every time. Tell me if you’re alright. If you’re not and feel too lonely... I will come to stay with you, Nicole."
"You accompanied me for five years, gave me five years of happiness. Now, if you’re not doing well down there, tell me, and I’ll keep you company."
"Honestly, Nicole, I’m really exhausted, living every day in a daze. As soon as I calm down, my mind is filled with your image. It’s too torturous for me. Leaving to accompany you would actually be my best release..."
Jose Floyd smoked his cigarette as he left the cemetery, his expression cold and devoid of warmth. Yet it wasn’t hard to notice the slight redness around his eyes.
As Jose Floyd was planning to get in his car and leave the cemetery, a car parked nearby suddenly honked.
He looked up coldly, and when the slowly rolling down window revealed a familiar face, a flash of surprise briefly crossed his eyes.
"Steven Cooper—" Jose Floyd’s voice was very low.
Steven Cooper looked at Jose Floyd, "I saw you when you entered the cemetery. I’ve been waiting for you here. Did you also come to see her? I’ve come to see her too."
"When did you wake up?" Jose Floyd leaned against his car, looking at Steven Cooper as he asked.
Steven Cooper pursed his lips, "A little over a month ago."
He found out right after waking that Nicole had passed away, caused by his mother... She took a knife for Jose Floyd and left.
He took a bullet for her, but she took a knife for Jose Floyd; perhaps this is love.
He loved her, but she deeply, unwaveringly, loved Jose Floyd.
Jose Floyd thought of the bouquet of lilies he saw in front of the tombstone when he first went in and nodded knowingly.
"Jose Floyd, have you ever regretted hurting her in the past?" Steven Cooper asked.
Jose Floyd was silent for a while, then deeply said, "If time could be reversed, I would have kept her in Italy, kept her by my side. I wouldn’t have let her meet you, avoiding you saving her and her feeling indebted to you."
