"Nicole, Jose just left me, he’s in a terrible mood, driving really fast. I’m scared something might happen to him."

"What happened?" Nicole, lying in bed, immediately sat up, her voice low as she snapped toward the other end.

"...It’s about Jose’s little-known heritage." Langdon paused for a few seconds, "Nicole, you know better than anyone how good Jose has been to you, and he’s never been able to vent his anger in front of you. Now that he’s lost his mind, can you go and be with him?"

Nicole didn’t reply and hung up Langdon’s call.

Nicole hesitated for a few seconds, holding her phone, looking at the heavy rain outside, didn’t even change out of her pajamas and slippers, and went downstairs quickly.

As Nicole went downstairs, she happened to run into Aunt Forest carrying fruit upstairs. Seeing her hurried steps, Aunt Forest immediately called out, "Miss, it’s pouring outside."

"I have an umbrella in the car!" Nicole replied, "Don’t tell my brother and the others that I went out, just say I’m asleep."

"Alright, Miss." Aunt Forest was slightly puzzled but still agreed.

Nicole quickly headed outside, going to the garage to get her car.

"Miss, at least change your clothes and shoes! You’re wearing pajamas and slippers!"

Aunt Forest shouted toward the now-empty living room entrance, but the quickly departing Nicole had already disappeared beyond the doorway, not hearing her.

"What could be so urgent, going out in homewear," Aunt Forest muttered, carrying the fruit upstairs for the young master and young madam to eat.

Nicole took her car from the garage and drove out the gate.

The rain was pouring down, and Nicole was driving fast, one hand on the wheel, the other dialing Jose Floyd’s number.

The phone’s ringtone sounded over and over without anyone answering, making Nicole’s panic increase.

"Jose Floyd, what are you doing with this attitude, not answering a single call! In such a heavy rain, where are you!"

Annoyed that Jose wasn’t answering, Nicole turned her eyes and sent him a voice message.

"Jose Floyd, where are you, in this downpour, I can’t find you at all!"

On the other side, Jose Floyd was speeding in the car, the phone ringing non-stop, but he didn’t even glance at it. His eyes were icy cold, pushing the accelerator to the max.

The puddles on the road, the splashing rainwater, as the car sped by, churned up frothy waves!

Finally, with a notification of a message, Jose Floyd glanced coldly at the insistently calling ’Langdon Seal’!

His eyes flickered with slight surprise as he glanced at the phone, then a bitter smile appeared on his lips.

That bastard Langdon, he played it ruthless, directly sending this woman over!

Jose Floyd pursed his thin lips, turned off the phone’s screen, but as his brows grew cold again, another message notification came in.

In his mind, Nicole’s face flashed by. In a moment of silent contemplation, as he hadn’t reduced the speed, there was a bang—the car hit the roadside guardrail!

Further troubled, Jose Floyd absently tapped the phone, opened the message box.

"Jose Floyd, where are you! My car is almost out of gas! In such heavy rain, where am I supposed to find a gas station!"

The shout carried a hint of tension, making Jose Floyd’s fingertips tense slightly. Seeing the contact name marked ’Nicole’, his expression deepened.

After a long time, he finally replied to the message, his fingers sliding on the phone, sending over his current location.
