Chapter 1968: Plots and Intrigue

It is almost like he is becoming mortal. But he still retains all of his abilities and power. He could still control the elements, could manipulate time, and all of his other abilities remain intact.

So, it is not like he had lost his power and become a mortal. Then he thinks about it for a second and smiles bitterly

“Not all” he mutters to himself. But he shakes his head

It is just that he has gotten sick… Among other things

And that is not just possible. It is one thing for mortal body to get sick. But his body is now just energy. He could lose his physical body and just flitter around like fireflies.

Energy that could not be seen by the mortal eyes

That is what keeps him in place. He did not know what is happening to him right now

“I do have my suspicion” Azief believe that when he was running from that finger, from that entity in the Time Space continuum tunnel, it did something to him

Maybe that energy infiltrates his energy and makes him sick.

Maybe it is the effect of time and space itself, and it would disappear on his own.

One thing is clear, Azief did not dare do certain things until he could at least find out the cause of this illness

“I am becoming more alone” he thought to himself as he looks at the sun in the distance.

No one knows what that means other than himself.

He shakes his head and then walks along the island, waiting for a change

And this change is coming. He smiles a bit. But this smile has a bit of melancholy in it.

Now that he had reached this realm, there are some things he could see. He might not have such powerful ability as Erika, but he does have some methods of seeing the future and some cause and effect.

After all, he also had learned the Law of Time. It might not be as illuminating and as comprehensive, but he could see some clues to his own fate.

What is the real reason why he is still on the island?

Is it simply because he is uncertain. No, that is the excuse he gave to Arthur and an excuse he gave to himself. The true reason is this

He is getting worse. He could feel it. The energy is like a chain, slowly chaining the energy in his body.

And not only that, all the laws he could use and command are regressing. It is like he is a beast being sealed.

He is still in Essence Creation realm, but all the abilities of his realm could not be used

And Azief could guess what would happen. First, it would seal all of his abilities and then it would weaken him.

But why is Azief is not anxious. Because he also sees a potential turnaround. It is a feeling. He doesn’t know where this turnaround would come from, but he could feel it.

So, he waited here, on this island.

It has been three days and as more days pass, the intense the feeling of this turnaround

“So, here I am waiting….for destiny and fate” he mutters to himself.

While Azief is waiting on that island, the world outside of that island is full of motion.

Those closest to the island got the news first but even then, they were skeptical.

The distance between islands is far away from each other and there is storms and energy disturbance every few hours so sending a message from one place to another was not easy like in the past

Other than military grade telephones that utilize magic energy in the air, most telephones could only connect people on the same continent and even then, this phone has range and limit

And unlike before, the Order of Thinkers is not so eager to help restore communications to the Great Powers.

After all, their leader Helva was detained by the Great Powers and imprisoned. If not for the prison break, their leader would still be in prison.

After such an ordeal, it is good enough that the Order of Thinker did not sabotage the world communication system, but to expect them to help establish communication methods for the world power allies is asking too much.

Some people believed that Death Monarch was in Arturia and some did not.

The taverns discuss this and the high halls from rulers and city lords also discuss these matters.

And some people believe it and some people did not believe it

Just like Azief has a reason not to come out of the island, these people also have a reason not to believe.

It is not that they wanted to defy Pandemonium and Death Monarch, they just fear this is an intrigue or a plot and scheme by Sasha, Wang Jian or even Arthur himself.

The world is now in chaos, and there would always be someone that would take advantage of it and trust is a rare commodity in such environment

After all, everyone knows in Pandemonium there is a clone or avatar of Death Monarch. Who’s going to say that this is the real Death Monarch and not just another clone of Death Monarch

What if Death Monarch also gives Arthur his avatar or clone?

And maybe Arthur revelation right now means he wanted to make a bid for the throne of Pandemonium?

It is absurd but it is not impossible.

Maybe Arturia wanted to wade in the muddy water and enter the game? Maybe Arthur wanted to enter the game and fought for the throne?

Of course, the throne of Pandemonium means Regent for anyone other than Death Monarch.

For any other people to assume the throne of Pandemonium, the only way they could command the power of Pandemonium is by becoming Regent

Loki when he was Regent possessed the full power of Pandemonium. And the army would also obey. And Pandemonium has the strongest army in the world

Their three Great Generals command the strongest army. Because Pandemonium itself possess many resources from dungeons and energy mines to deterring power.

As long as Death Monarch shows preference and approve the person, then there is no problem for Arthur to try to take Regent position

After all, the current war between Wang Jian and Sasha also revolves around this position. Wang Jian believes that the current Pandemonium is not what Death Monarch had wanted and Sasha is perverting the intention of Death Monarch

Sasha believes Wang Jian is usurping power and behaving like vassal kings. Even if he himself did not act like this, those below him does act like this and all of this is because Wang Jian himself possess great power and influence on the border.

They both seem to have different reasons, but the fundamental reason is this.

These two both could not trust each other and both of them believe that the other are disloyal

Sasha was left with Death Monarch clone or avatars.

If the one in the palace is really the real Death Monarch, then the civil war between these two would never happen.

Sina would not choose sides, and the central government of Pandemonium would never be this chaotic.

It is precisely because the Death Monarch in the Palace of Pandemonium is not real, that there are such a chaotic scene and such a war in Pandemonium.

Then what about Wang Jian? Is he the successor that Death Monarch intended and that is why he is fighting against Sasha?

Wang Jian was not left with any clones or avatar, but he is known to be the most trusted general of Death Monarch.

If not, he would not have been in charge of the armies and is the leader of the military faction in Pandemonium

But what if Death Monarch have another hidden trusted person?

And what if, that person is Arthur?

What if Death Monarch gives another clone or avatar to Arthur and intends for Arthur to rule in his stead?

Nobody knows the machinations that Death Monarch had left for his people. So, such speculation is not really absurd. Maybe before Death Monarch goes to wherever he goes right now, he left some measures for the people he trusted.

And the war happens because of this legacy?

The common people and even the world powers could not help but think like this.

Or what if, this is Arthur scheme.

Maybe Death Monarch did leave him a clone, but he was only to use it to protect Arturia and not to enter Pandemonium matters but Arthur suddenly seeing the opportunity wanted to use the avatar to legitimize his cause?

What if?

This is the question in the minds of the people who had heard the news about Death Monarch is in Arturia right now

Some people dare not believe. And even those who believe is thinking on how to approach this.

If the one in Arturia really is the real Death Monarch, then this is good.
