Chapter 1967: Illness

Katarina has this obsession with her. And this obsession when guided could be a powerful motivator.

It is precisely for this reason she could use swords like an extension of her own thoughts. Not hand or arms.

But like her thought. The moment she could think of it, her sword would move.

And that is why her improvement in the matters of leveling up is even faster than her brother.

Mindset.

Her own path. Different from the path Azief is taking.

But a grand path, nonetheless. And that si why she knew that Katarina would come

Because she is protective that way.

The worst thing is that he could not really get out now.

There is a reason for that

Azief is right now in his seaside villa.

An island to himself, and a mansion filled with Arthur subordinate.

Knights and berserkers guard this island.

Though, who would be stupid enough to try to attack him is something that Azief himself is curious to know about.

Azief appreciates the gesture, even though it is unnecessary. On Earth, he has no rivals.

One on one, he would win. He at least has this confidence.

“Things are quite different from what I thought”

In the three days he is in Arturia, he devours all of the information he could get and even though he had been absent for a few months, it almost like years.

The world of great change. He had said it before, but it is only now, he truly felt what those words meant.

He has just gone for three months and there is so many changes in the world. It is almost like the world changes every second.

There is Dragon Kings in the Ten Seas, new continents and new lands. Pocket dimension that suddenly appears, monsters from distant lands, aliens from distant stars.

All of this and more.

Azief himself find himself overwhelmed.

It almost felt like he had been gone for years

Azief is still here even after three days. He had planned to go to Pandemonium.

But now that he had revealed to the world that he is here, he hoped Pandemonium would stop fighting for a moment.

Certain plans he had made before had to be shelved.

Not because the plan is unsustainable it is just that he did not know if he could do it right now

So, for the moment, he needs them to stop. One of his plans involved a certain act that would shock the world

It is also a way for him to confirm certain things. If it could be confirmed, he truly believes he has found his path and his breakthrough could be achieved.

In the later stages, finding the path and finding inspiration to break through is more important than energy itself. Azief had enough energy in his body to break through

At least touch that breakthrough realm. Sovereign.

This is the next realm. The last realm. Break the limit of the system and condense all knowledge and your being and break though to this last realm.

If you failed to break through you could still revert and stay at Half Sovereign. One foot inside the realm but not quite.

Azief is not Half Step Sovereign but if he wanted to he could. But he did not. Because he is not sure yet whether the path he chooses is right for him

The plan he has for Pandemonium is born after knowing the conflict between those two could not be stopped.

Since it could not be stopped and would only get worse if it is stopped the best thing Azief could do was to guide it.

And not only guide it but take advantage of it to confirm some things that could not be done unless one does it in a real life setting.

Azief was pretty confident he could make Pandemonium learn a great lesson and at the same time does not have them wallowed in tragedy after the war.

That is why he allowed the war in Pandemonium to happen. And he looks at it from high above like some Olympians gods looking at the mortals from their high and holy abode of Olympus.

But that finger, that destructive force, that journey through the tunnels of time space continuum, that did some thing

He did not expect it to change some of his plans. His energy right now is unreliable and he fears trusting it

“Huh” he sighed. Azief knows that the news would arrive late. Even though it has been three days the fact no one from Pandemonium contacted him shows this.

Azief himself expected this.

Because he himself knows in the event of a war, to prevent any other forces from taking advantage, Sasha probably has cut off contact from the outside world and erect all kinds of magical monuments to block any message from coming out and coming in

Either Sasha or Wang Jian did this.

Both of them probably fear that the other would bring outside help into the matter.

Wang Jian has always believed that Sasha is usurping the power of the central authority and act like a tyrant when Azief is not there.

Sasha on the other hand worries about the powerful vassal kings in the region governed by these military governors.

They don’t trust each other.

As for why World Government is the fastest in receiving news it is because World Government have a direct line to Arturia and they have some kind of magic that connected it an allow instantaneous communication

But for the other world powers, the expansion of the world and magical energy filling the world also made communication hard

It is not hard for beings like him, but on this planet, there are only a few people that could be considered the same kind of being like him

As for the others, they are powerful, but they did not reach Azief level.

So, communicating is hard.

“I suspect even in other places, those powerful beings if they enter Earth would find it hard to communicate with telepathic connection”

“There is no place like home” he scoffed

Azief only notices this after being told about it.

He had the Heavenly Will as the conduit so none of his telepathy connection is affected by the energy of the world, but other people do not have his privilege.

Of course, this privilege come with a price.

He had always had to be wary with the heavenly Will.

That “one” is gathering sentience and he also knows how to use plots and intrigue.

The Heavenly Will learns from the Will of the World.

And the Will of the World comes from the people.

He learns the good thing and also learns the bad thing. The Heavenly Will desire to be whole. And as long as Azief holds one third of that will in his soul, the Heavenly Will is not whole.

This is also something he must solve someday

The enemy of Death Monarch has long ceased to be common enemies.

Intergalactic aliens, the personification of Destruction, ancient gods, intangible concept, like fate and Destiny, these are the kind of enemies that he is now fighting

He had thought when he reached this realm, he could sit back and relax. Instead, what people did not know, the stronger he became, the more fearful he became

And now becoming stronger is not just something he wanted, it is imperative so that he could survive.

Those beings that wanted to use him, none of them are weak and none of them are benevolent and merciful

Still, he could not cut oof his humanity

He still cares about Pandemonium, he still cares about Sasha, and Wang Jian.

The moment he views these people as insignificant, that is the day he knows his heart is weakened.

There needs to be something that tethers him.

Being cold and heartless is not the only path.

He had learned a lot from Odin and Wargod.

Some of the things were spelled out directly to him and some are words spoken in jest actually have deeper meaning when he thinks about it.

“Time….that is the thing I needed. More time”

He had a premonition that certain things were set in motion the moment he met Wargod. Wargod himself said it to him. Things changed.

If things changed, it means he no longer walks his old path. But is the new path he walks today a good path or is it just a side road leading to the same destination

Azief sighed and shakes his head

Then he walks outside his house. He only needs to think of it and suddenly he is already outside of his house. Teleportation becomes harder after the concentration of energy rises on Earth but that is not an issue for Azief.

Azief must admit being watched over by the Heavenly Will all the time is not a pleasant feeling, but it does have its perk.

One of the perks is the use of the Heavenly Laws and commanding the rules and laws of the world as easy as moving his hand

“This illness is…. weird” Azief wanted to go to Pandemonium. He wanted to check on Katarina. He wants to know what happens to Sofia. Loki, Sina, and others

And there are a lot of things he wants to do.

But after a while, his body is becoming weaker. Last night he had a fever. The day before he had a cold.

A cold and then came fever.
