Living With My Yandere Professor
Chapter 169: Cockroach
The pitch-black bedroom was filled with an intimate atmosphere.
Scarlett’s delicate, pretty face was already flushed red, and she couldn’t stop letting out soft groans.
"Didn’t we agree not to mess around? Why is this Little Fellow’s hand getting restless again?"
Scarlett kept telling herself this, but she didn’t verbally stop Andrew. Her rapidly beating heart made her feel a little expectant.
Suddenly, amidst the soft groans, a sound that completely ruined the mood interrupted them.
"Rumble~~~"
"..."
For a moment, both of them stopped what they were doing.
In the darkness, their bright eyes met.
Although he couldn’t see her clearly, Andrew could distinctly feel that Scarlett’s face was burning with embarrassment.
"Um... I’m a little hungry. I didn’t mean to interrupt."
Scarlett said this shyly.
She was a little angry with herself, blaming her stomach for not cooperating and choosing such a crucial moment to rumble.
However, Andrew wasn’t angry. Instead, he poked his head out from under the covers.
"How about we go get something to eat, then?"
Hearing this, Scarlett was slightly stunned. She felt puzzled, but she couldn’t help teasing Andrew.
"Aren’t you going to continue drinking milk? I agreed just this once. You’re not allowed to ask again next time."
"Hehe, my Wife will agree next time, but I can’t let my Wife go hungry. If I get too skinny from hunger, I won’t have any milk to drink."
Listening to Andrew’s chuckling voice, Scarlett could imagine the mischievous grin on his face.
She couldn’t help but laugh as well and tapped Andrew on the head.
"You naughty pervert, always thinking about drinking milk. I’ll knock you dead."
"Hey, let’s put on our pajamas and get up to find something to eat first."
"Mm."
The two fumbled around under the covers for a moment, put on their innermost layers of clothing, and then changed into their thick cotton pajamas before leaving the room.
They had expected the elders to still be downstairs playing mahjong, but unexpectedly, the area outside their bedroom was also pitch-black when they opened the door.
It wasn’t until Scarlett took out her phone and turned on the flashlight that she realized it was nearly one in the morning.
"How is it already past one?"
Scarlett had originally thought it was barely eleven, so she was surprised that it was already so late.
"We watched a movie, chatted for a while, and then spent so much time hugging each other just now. Of course it’s late."
Hearing Andrew explain it like that, Scarlett felt that it made sense.
But she genuinely felt that time had passed so quickly. She hadn’t really done much at all.
As she thought about it, her mind wandered elsewhere.
If they really got close and intimate with this Little Fellow, wouldn’t one night be too short? A whole day would probably be more appropriate.
As she was lost in thought, Andrew suddenly grabbed her arm.
"Let’s go together. This is the countryside, and it’s dark. It feels a bit scary."
When he was little, Andrew had been dragged by his Older Sister, Catherine, to watch a zombie movie in the countryside. The experience had traumatized both of them, making them feel as though zombies might suddenly crawl out of the ground at night in rural areas.
Scarlett wasn’t scared at all. She led Andrew to the first floor.
To avoid disturbing Andrew’s grandparents, who were sleeping downstairs, the two didn’t turn on the lights and relied only on their phones for illumination.
There were some cold dishes left on the table, while the rest of the leftovers had been put in the refrigerator.
"It seems like there aren’t any snacks in the countryside, right?" Scarlett suddenly realized.
In the city, whenever she was hungry, she could simply grab some snacks. But when they had rushed to the countryside, they had left in such a hurry that they hadn’t brought anything with them.
"If there are no snacks, we can just heat up some cold dishes for a late-night snack," Andrew said as he opened the refrigerator. "Professor, what do you want to eat? There should still be quite a few dishes left from dinner."
"Let me think..."
Scarlett pondered for a moment before speaking softly.
"Let’s have the chicken. That old hen was quite delicious."
"Then I’ll reheat the chicken soup."
Andrew took the chicken soup to the stove, turned on the fire, poured it into a pot, and began heating it.
Scarlett stood beside him and watched. After all, Andrew was afraid of the dark, so it was better for her to stay nearby.
Suddenly, a dark object darted past Scarlett’s feet.
"What was that that just went by?"
Scarlett blinked but couldn’t find it again.
Andrew paid it no mind.
"Probably a piece of paper, some dust, or something. It’s the countryside; it can’t be as clean as the city."
"It didn’t look like paper. It didn’t fly past."
Scarlett turned on her phone’s flashlight and searched around.
Her comment scared Andrew so much that the hairs on his body stood on end.
"Don’t tell me a zombie really crawled out of the ground?"
"How is that possible? Where would zombies come from? You watch too many fantasy movies."
Scarlett muttered this while continuing to search for the black figure that had darted past.
"Huh? Why can’t I find it? Did I imagine it?"
Scarlett began to wonder if she had seen things, while Andrew suspected that it might be some kind of ghostly disturbance—an actual demon or monster.
Just as Scarlett was about to put her phone away, the light happened to shine on a pitch-black object in the corner.
The next second, the huge black cockroach suddenly darted away.
"Ah!!!"
Scarlett was so frightened that she threw her phone aside, jumped up, and clung tightly to Andrew.
Andrew, who had been a little scared himself, was completely flustered.
"What’s wrong? Is there really a ghost?"
"No, no... it’s not a ghost."
Scarlett was trembling all over, holding onto Andrew tightly with all four limbs and not daring to open her eyes.
"There’s... a cockroach!"
"A cockroach?"
Andrew froze, and then his fear instantly vanished.
"It’s just a cockroach, not a ghost. What are you afraid of?"
"But... but it’s a cockroach! A huge one! I’m scared... so scared!"
Scarlett refused to open her eyes no matter what and didn’t dare get off Andrew.
Andrew held her soft, delicate body in his arms and, for a moment, didn’t know what to do either. It wasn’t convenient for him to deal with the cockroach in this position.
"Professor, how about I carry you back to the bedroom? I’ll bring the chicken soup up once it’s heated."
"Mm."
Scarlett clung tightly to Andrew and nodded, afraid of falling.
Seeing this, Andrew realized he couldn’t ask Scarlett to hold the phone herself. He had no choice but to hold her with one arm while squatting down to pick up the phone she had dropped.
Then, carrying her, he went upstairs and returned to the bedroom.
As he was leaving, Scarlett quietly reminded him in a small voice, "Then hurry up and come back."
"Mm, I’ll come up as soon as the chicken soup is hot."
Andrew said this before leaving the bedroom.
He thought that when they had gone downstairs earlier, he had been the one who was scared, but now Scarlett was the one trembling in fear.
After closing the bedroom door, Andrew squeezed his own hand.
"Hehe, Scarlett’s body is so soft and warm. It felt so comfortable holding her. If only I could hug her like that for a little while longer."
