Live Streaming Academy
Chapter 316: How to Revenge (8)
Immediately, the chamber began hissing loudly, building pneumatic pressure. Like a compressed coil suddenly snapping, the entire cubicle was launched upward through a dedicated, reinforced launch tube.
A few seconds later, as the cubicle rocketed through the roof of the skyscraper and into the night sky, the automated timer hit zero.
The primary explosives packed into the sub-levels detonated simultaneously.
Mid-air, the escape cubicle’s protective shell automatically disassembled and fell away, leaving Solomon suspended in freefall high above the city. He looked down just as the massive explosion ripped through the foundation of the guild headquarters.
A blinding flash of orange fire illuminated the district, followed by a catastrophic roar as the towering skyscraper buckled, and began to collapse inward on itself.
Solomon smiled as he watched the absolute destruction unfold beneath him. ’I could not have asked for a better view,’ he thought to himself, completely satisfied.
He closed his eyes, the rushing wind roaring past his ears, and wondered what he was supposed to do next.
When he was a young boy, he had desperately wanted to grow up and become a famous adventurer. He wanted to be a hero, to save innocent people, and to make the world a better place. But after the tragic, entirely preventable death of his older brother, Jacob, he completely lost his will to become a hero.
If heroes were supposed to save everyone, who was supposed to save the hero when they needed help?
After miraculously awakening his SSS-rank talent at the age of fifteen, that childhood will had briefly flared back to life. He wanted to become the strongest and help the world. But after the world immediately turned its back on him, mocking him and labeling him a fraud when he failed to activate his dormant power, he lost that will again, and this time, it had never returned.
He only fought, bled, and trained to become strong enough to get his revenge. And tonight, he had finally achieved that revenge.
He had never even planned on attending the Live Streaming Academy, but he had miraculously found a way to utilize his talent there.
He gained the Eden bloodline, granting him unlimited strength governed by a stamina tax. He acquired the immortal Eden heart, granting him unlimited healing. He recently secured the Azure bloodline, which was supposed to grant him unlimited aura once he finally unlocked his navel and mind cores. And for some inexplicable reason, the lingering effects of the giant’s physical power still resided in his muscles.
Even if he never returned to the academy, he was already strong enough to survive in the real world. He just needed to hunt for more opportunities. He didn’t even technically need to consume any more royal crowns.
Everything he had done up to this point was strictly for revenge. Now that the Blue Yorker’s Shield Guild was destroyed, he realized he had no other long-term goals or driving dreams.
Just then, he opened his eyes. His gaze fell upon the bright, glowing full moon hanging in the night sky.
The celestial body intrinsically reminded him of Lune.
He remembered her smile, her stubborn lectures, and the warmth of her kiss. ’Maybe I actually still have more reasons to continue fighting and become the strongest,’ Solomon realized, a new spark of determination igniting in his chest.
He turned his body around mid-air and looked straight down. He saw Paul rushing toward his projected landing zone on the electric scooter, navigating the empty streets below.
The fall was vertical, and there was nothing nearby to grab onto or use to break his momentum. Hitting the pavement from this altitude would easily pulverize his bones and likely kill him instantly, regardless of his healing factor.
Solomon let out a heavy sigh. "I really should have grabbed that parachute bag hanging on the side of the eject chamber."
Just then, a familiar shadow blurred through the air.
The maid girl appeared seemingly out of nowhere, having leaped from the roof of an adjacent building. She intercepted him mid-fall, grabbing him securely around the waist, and used her superhuman momentum to carry them both toward a building further down the block.
She landed gracefully on the rooftop, immediately bounding off the ledge to jump from one building to the next, bleeding off the momentum until they finally dropped safely down onto the quiet street.
Paul arrived on the electric scooter just a few seconds later, skidding to a halt beside them as the distant roar of the collapsing skyscraper echoed across the city.
Solomon dusted off his jeans and looked at the maid girl in surprise. "What are you doing here? Did I not tell you to wait for me back in District Six?"
The maid girl pointed a slender finger at Paul. "He came and told me that you might need my help."
Solomon turned his gaze toward Paul. He was staring at the two of them, completely unable to comprehend the situation. Both Solomon and the maid girl were covered in dust, and Solomon’s clothes were stained with dark crimson blood beyond any hope of repair.
The maid girl looked down at her ruined outfit. Her usually emotionless demeanor cracked, replaced by a soft, genuinely sad expression that resembled a kicked puppy. "I damaged the clothes you gave me."
Solomon chuckled, waving a hand dismissively. "There is no need to worry about that. Look at me, even my own clothes are completely ruined and dirty now."
He paused, a look of deadpan terror suddenly washing over his face. He glanced sideways at the empty street. "Though, I am going to be a dead man the second Jasmine finds out her clothes are missing."
Paul finally tore his eyes away from the two teenagers and looked toward the chaotic skyline. The towering headquarters of The BlueYorker’s Shield was collapsing in on itself, a roaring inferno of orange flames and billowing black smoke lighting up the night.
It had become day in the middle of the night.
Paul stumbled forward. "What the hell did you do?! Did you seriously just take out an entire guild filled with hundreds of veteran members entirely by yourself, and then blow up their skyscraper like you said you would?!"
Solomon shrugged his shoulders casually. "I never lie, and I never make false promises."
Paul gave him a deeply judging stare, making it obvious he did not believe that statement for a single second.
