Chapter 301: A Day with an Ancient Maid [Bonus Chapter]

"Your clothes are also dirty. You should get changed too."

Obviously, she didn’t own any modern clothes. Solomon looked at her slender build and realized she was roughly the same size as Jasmine.

’Her clothes should fit the maid perfectly.’

He led her upstairs and walked straight into Jasmine’s bedroom.

"It feels like I am doing something illegal..." he muttered.

He opened his sister’s wardrobe, rummaged through the hangers, and pulled out a few casual outfits such as a pair of jeans, some comfortable skirts, a few t-shirts, and a warm sweater.

He handed the stack of clothing to the maid girl.

"These might vary slightly in size," Solomon instructed. "You should try them all on one by one and just wear whichever one fits you the best. I will buy you your own clothes later when we have time."

The maid girl stared down at the denim and cotton fabrics, looking completely confused by the modern zippers and buttons. Before she could ask him how any of the strange garments actually worked or how to put them on, Solomon had already spun around and left the room, heading straight for the bathroom to finally wash the dungeon grime off his skin.

Solomon stepped under the hot shower, letting out a long, exhausted sigh as the water washed the dried blood and sand down the drain.

"I brought her all the way here, but I honestly have no idea what to do with her," Solomon muttered, leaning his head against the wet tiles. "I just... I didn’t feel like leaving her alone in that dark void."

He closed his eyes. Perhaps it was because he had recently heard the tragic tale of the Heavenly Demon. He had felt the crushing, suffocating loneliness of being left entirely alone in a sealed tomb for centuries. He didn’t want her to experience anything similar, especially not when she had treated him so warmly and offered him hospitality in that desolate city.

He turned off the shower, dried off, and stepped into the large bathtub, sinking into the warm water to soak his aching muscles. He leaned his head back against the porcelain rim and sighed once again.

"Although she kept insisting it was just her duty to wait," Solomon muttered, staring at the ceiling.

He wondered if it was actually legally or magically fine to bring someone directly from a dungeon into the real world.

’Monsters from the dungeons cannot cross the portal threshold into the real world until a break officially occurs,’ Solomon reasoned logically. ’But since she was able to pass through the exit portal without any issues or magical rejection, that means she is not a monster or a dungeon construct. She is a human... or rather, some kind of ancient superhuman.’

Solomon let out another sigh and closed his eyes.

"I have to think about what I am going to tell Mom and Dad. If I tell them I brought her from the dungeon, they might have some kind of prejudice against her." He opened his eyes. "After brother Jacob’s death, they have been very cautious about dungeons. And I was also aware that they were actually happy that I couldn’t use my talent, because without it, I wouldn’t get the adventurer’s license. And if I didn’t have an adventurer’s license, I wouldn’t be able to enter the dungeon."

He once again closed his eyes to relax.

SHALANK~!

The door slid open and the maid girl walked in all naked.

Solomon averted her gaze and asked, "What are you doing here?!"

"I did not know how to wear the strange clothes you gave me."

"Then you could have just waited for me to come out!"

"I also want to take a bath." She walked to the bathtub and tried to step in. "Shall I wash your back, master?"

"Who are you calling master?!" he exclaimed.

"I am a maid. My duty was to serve the guests in the city, but now there is no city and you are the last guest I served. I have no one to serve, so I will serve you all my life." he looked at him with wide eyes. "You are now my master."

"I am not your master and you don’t have to call me that either."

She settled into the bathtub, sitting opposite to Solomon.

"What should I call you then?"

"Just call me Solomon."

"Okay," she nodded.

Solomon was avoiding looking at her, but she was sitting in front of him. Although he kept his gaze averted, his habit of looking at people when talking was having trouble interacting with her.

He then got out of the tub and grabbed the towel to cover himself.

"Where are you going?"

"I am done with the bath." Solomon pointed at the soap and shampoos and said, "You can use this stuff to wash yourself. I am sure you know what soap is. And the one in this wildly shaped container is called shampoo. You can use it to wash your hair. There is also a towel hanging at the door. Once you have dried up, change into the clothes you feel the most comfortable in."

"I do not understand those strange clothes or how to wear them. You have to teach me."

Solomon felt like he was going to have a hard time from now on.

"Just finish the bath and come out. I will show you how to wear them."

"Okay... Solomon."

Solomon then left the bathroom.

He quickly went to his room and changed his clothes.

"I don’t know what I am going to do with her. It feels like she is even lacking common sense..." he muttered. "Who walks in when someone is already taking a bath? Is it some kind of cultural thing that was normal thousands of years ago?" he wondered.

"She even started calling me master. Good thing I made it clear. I don’t want to get involved in some kind of mess later on. Especially in front of Mom and Dad."

Solomon pondered for a few seconds. "Since she can understand modern language, I should ask her if she can also read. If she can, I will hand her some books about manners and stuff. If she can’t read... I will have to create a video playlist that will get her knowledgeable about the modern world."
