SUMMARY
On Earth, nobody is born with an interface floating before their eyes. Dante was. Along with it came a body so frail that a short sprint burns his lungs, and a passage etched directly into his soul leading to Hell, a colossal realm of nine major continents and fifteen minor ones, where survival is dictated by rigid system rules, paper currency, and steam-driven industrial machines.
A miscalculation at age ten nearly ended his life in the gutter of a bleak suburb, until Maria, a girl from down the street, dragged his bleeding body away from death. Bound to the system by a mysterious man in a white jacket with a single directive: Protect the Light.
Seven years later, the two have become an anomaly in both worlds. Dante is a sharp-minded tactical summoner whose mental attributes break the scale while his physical frame can barely take the recoil of a gunshot. Maria is a six-foot-three sentinel who swings a forty-pound greatsword, cracks iron plating with her bare fists, and demands back every single cent her partner owes her in hot meals.
Yet Hell is no simple grinding ground. Strange feathers are beginning to push through Dante’s flesh, Maria’s blood burns with a power the white-jacketed overseers themselves fail to perceive, and every record on Earth seems to have been scrubbed clean to bury what they truly are. Those pulling the strings from above believe they hold two disposable pawns. They are mistaken.
