Life Game In Other World

Chapter 1905 - 1904: Quelling the Undead Cataclysm

  • Next Chapter

Countless undead piled up on the boundless wasteland, the surging firelight igniting the bodies of some small demons. They traversed between the undead, carrying a terrifying might, crashing against the tightly closed city gates.

Two illusions streaked across the wasteland sky, descending toward the closed city gates, toward the dense undead army.

Just as they were about to approach these undead armies, strands of green light wove into a dense web, blocking their path.

The two illusions paused, gazing at the web of green light.

A voice with a slight electrical sizzle emerged from one of the illusions, "Levi, are you going to break the covenant and join the Federation’s civil war?"

"I am not here to break the covenant," a calm and hoarse voice sounded within the green web. Subsequently, the glow of the web contracted swiftly, outlining a humanoid figure with white hair—it was Levi.

He raised his head to look at the two blurred figures in front of him, "On the contrary, it seems like you two are preparing to break the covenant."

"There’s an angel involved in the civil war, and in this city, you’re the only angel," the voice with the electric sizzle hoarsely noted, "Preventing any angels from participating in the Federation’s internal war is our covenant’s content, or did you bring in other angels?"

"I haven’t participated in the civil war, nor have I seen any other angels," Levi gazed at the two and asked with a smile, "By the way, there seems to be a lot of undead creatures here. It looks like the handiwork of the Church of the Grim Reaper. Have you allied with a cult? Changed your beliefs?"

"Levi, don’t accuse us baselessly here," the voice with the electric sizzle quickly replied, "These undead were created by both sides of the civil war. According to our covenant, as long as it hasn’t reached the Angel Tier and caused massive sacrifices, we have no reason to interfere in the civil war. This level of undead is far from reaching the Angel Tier."

"It’s you, Levi," a voice that sounded a bit thick and honest slowly said, "Didn’t you just get involved personally?"

"I haven’t stepped into it," Levi said with a gentle smile, "I just appeared here to hope you won’t break the covenant and assist the attackers."

"We, of course, won’t break the covenant," the voice with the electric sizzle raspily said, "But we sensed a strong power appearing within the city. It seems like some angel participated in the war. We need to determine if he broke the covenant."

"I’ve said I didn’t feel any angel’s presence." Levi shook his head.

Hearing this, the two figures exchanged a glance.

The voice with the electric sizzle rasped, "Levi, wasn’t it really you just now in the city?"

"It wasn’t me," Levi smiled at the two figures, a faint green glow spreading behind him, "I also hope you won’t find excuses to attempt breaking the covenant and get involved in the Federation’s civil war."

Both stopped their movements entirely, glancing at Levi.

"Since no angel has interfered," the honest-sounding voice slowly replied, "we naturally won’t interfere either."

As they spoke, they turned their gaze to look at the mass of undead army ahead.

Boom——

The gigantic city gates rumbled with trembling quakes, seeming as though they might be broken open by a mighty demon at any moment.

Meanwhile, other undead creatures also densely pressed against the high walls, seemingly looking for cracks in the walls, attempting to squeeze through into the city.

And among these hordes of undead, fiery hounds wrapped in flames howled fiercely, sprinting across the undead plains, crashing into the high walls, trying to impact the mystical shield on the high wall, expanding the originally narrow cracks.

The endless undead paved the dim earth, spreading a field filled with flames and illusions.

Roar~

At the end of the plain, a gigantic hound with three heads all wrapped in flames raised its several-meter-tall heads, gazing at the endless undead, furiously howling.

"Cerberus is a servant of the Grim Reaper," Levi gazed at the Cerberus and hoarsely asked, "Isn’t this Cerberus close to the Angel Tier? At least, it’s an incomplete angel. Are you just going to leave them there unattended? Once it enters the city, it may cause a lot of deaths."

"As long as it hasn’t reached the Angel Tier," the voice with the electric sizzle slowly replied, "it’s always a matter for mortals. If it wants to initiate a sacrifice, then we’ll talk after it initiates the sacrifice."

"I see." Levi gazed at the endless undead creatures below, his gaze lowered.

And just in the direction his line of sight fell, a figure slowly became outlined in the sky, standing against the towering city walls, atop the endless undead plain.

"Who is that?" the voice with the electric sizzle immediately asked.

"A former mayor of Yilan City, might know some mystical spells," Levi smiled, "but for now, not an angel."

The two figures exchanged glances, finally gazing at the slightly old figure, unsure at the moment if it was an angel.

Meanwhile, the floating figure in the sky also gazed at the undead plain below.

He gently raised his hand, and strands of ethereal green light spilled from his fingertips, descending onto the undead plain below.

Under the murky sky, the previously furious undead attacking the city suddenly paused their actions at this moment.

Strands of ethereal green light entangled their bodies, like threads weaving a carpet, connecting the entire plain together.

Also locking the whole plain together.

And at the end of the plain, the roaring giant three-headed hound seemed to have noticed this change as well.

Roar~ Roar~ Roar~

Its three heads separated, growling deeply, with its massive looming body shooting out like a stream of light, crossing most of the plain in an instant, about to reach the floating figure.

Its flame-covered heads opened wide its jaws, revealing massive flaming fangs.

The flowing lava flicked out from those sharp fangs, carrying a corrupt stench, snapping towards the floating figure.

Compared to this gigantic beast, tens of meters tall, the floating figure seemed inconsequential.

Like a person-sized feather floating in the air.

Yet, this light ’feather’ gently raised its hand, aiming at the wide-open maw of the hideous beast.

The three-headed Cerberus, which rushed in with terrifying might, had its movement abruptly halted, as if a pause button was pressed, suspended mid-air.

The hideous jaws, filled with flames and lava, stalled one or two meters in front of the figure, despite its struggles, it couldn’t bite down anymore.

Countless strands of ethereal green light appeared within an instant, entwining Cerberus’ body, holding it firmly.

Meanwhile, the floating figure also lifted its head at this moment, gazing at Cerberus, unveiling white hair and a majestic, yet aged face.

"Linen!" the voice with the electric sizzle instinctively exclaimed.

And as he spoke, He Ao had already gently grasped the void and pulled downward.

The ethereal green glow flashed in the depths of the void.

That boundless undead plain, in that instant, was pulled tight, then immediately drawn into the darkness behind.

Roar~

The gigantic Cerberus before He Ao roared in fury, but no matter how much it struggled, the ethereal green chains clung to its body like unbreakable shackles, dragging it into the dark abyss behind in almost an instant.

The grand necromantic field, the terrifying demons, the massive hunting dogs, all vanished under the dim sky as if they were a fleeting dream.

Everything returned to its usual calm, leaving only the traces on the huge city gate, blackened by fire.

Having done all this, He Ao withdrew his hands and descended to the ground.

"Wasn’t Linen dead?" the figure in the sky, with a voice buzzing like electricity, looked at Levi in front of him, his whole body flickering rapidly, ready to rush downwards towards He Ao, "This power, and you tell me it’s not angelic?"

The other figure beside him also attempted to descend immediately.

"On the earth, undead creatures could move freely," a green mesh of light extended instantly, blocking the two figures, "what’s strange about the resurrected dead,"

Looking at the two figures, he smiled and said, "Oh yes, I forgot to mention, a believer of the Grim Reaper just infiltrated the city and used necromantic divine arts to pull me into an interstitial space of the Netherworld. Do you know who let them in?"

"Yilan City’s security should be your own concern," the voice with an electric buzz rasped, "being pulled into the interstitial space by a believer of the Grim Reaper was your own negligence; those believers used divine arts which, unless angelic, have nothing to do with us."

"Levi, perhaps now is not the time to discuss this," the voice that sounded sincere said quickly, "the primary issue right now is the person below, whether he’s Linen or not, the power he’s displayed already exceeds the realm of angels, and angels cannot interfere in internal Federation conflicts."

"Is that so?" Levi still blocked the figure in front, smiling, "I didn’t feel he used angel-tier power, did you?"

"Levi, when did you become so argumentative," the voice with an electric buzz sneered, "the power he just displayed instantly annihilated a Cerberus close to angelic tier, how is that not angel-tier strength?"

"Is that so," Levi smiled, "wasn’t he using magic?

He paused slightly, staring at the two figures in front of him, continuing to smile, "That Cerberus got killed because of its own carelessness, what does it have to do with Linen’s power? It’s quite normal for these brainless undead creatures to be defeated by someone using magic, isn’t it?"

"How can you prove he used magic? Where is the divine being who answered his call?" the voice with an electric buzz asked quickly.

"In the Federation, regarding matters of mysticism, my word is the standard," Levi’s expression also cooled down, "would I lie to you?"

The two figures paused slightly, exchanged a glance, hesitating to speak more.

Although there’s an internal conflict within the Federation, in principle, all angels are still one collective, a pact initially established amongst the angels.

And indeed, Levi is the most authoritative scholar on mysticism within the Federation.

But if what the opponent used was truly magic, then there’s no reason for them to intervene; after all, they had just mocked Levi for being imprisoned by the divine arts of the Church of the Grim Reaper.

Both parties were momentarily deadlocked in the sky.

Meanwhile, below, He Ao’s feet had touched the ground.

A floating warplane descended from the sky, and before it fully landed, the cabin door was opened from inside, and a red-haired girl jumped out towards He Ao.

He Ao quietly watched the girl, opening his arms slightly.

"Dad." The girl collided into his embrace.

He Ao gently hugged her, patting her back.

But by this time, the girl already realized something, she raised her head and looked at him, "Are you leaving again?"

He Ao quietly gazed at her and nodded gently.

The girl lowered her head, hugged him tightly, and after a while, slowly let go and stepped back a few paces.

She looked up, observing the wrinkles on He Ao’s face, the strands of gray hair, paused, and said softly, "You seem to have aged a bit more. I feel like I haven’t looked at you this way for a long time."

"Or perhaps, this time I didn’t dye my hair," He Ao looked at her, "but you seem to have grown up a lot."

The girl stood there, observing He Ao, and after a brief pause, she lightly chuckled, "Or maybe it’s because I put on some makeup."

At this, she paused slightly and said in a soft voice, "Then, goodbye."

"Goodbye." He Ao nodded gently.

The girl turned around, walking directly towards the parked floating warplane without looking back.

He Ao lowered his hand, the cane in his hand naturally dropped, watching the girl gradually move away until she was before the floating warplane.

Just as she was about to board the warplane, the girl suddenly turned her head, looking at He Ao, and asked, "Will you come back? Next time, or whenever..."

"I will." He Ao looked at her calmly, smiling.

The girl paused slightly, then smiled excitedly, "Then, see you next time!"

"See you next time." He Ao nodded with a smile.

The girl turned her gaze away and climbed onto the floating warplane.

She stood at the open cabin door, slowly turning back to look behind.

All she saw was an empty field.

The cold, whistling wind swept across the vast field, creating layers of waves on the untouched green grass.

The overcast clouds covering the firmament seemed to crack slightly, casting a hazy halo upon the earth below.

The light outlined an elderly figure; it seemed he just appeared, or perhaps he’d been standing there all along.

His figure gradually dissipated, waving gently towards the young girl on the field.

Seeing the figure, the girl’s initial disappointment was washed away in an instant, she smiled, sighed, and waved farewell to the elderly man.

Until the elderly man’s figure completely dissolved into the field.

"Miss Lin Na," an officer beside her said somewhat nervously, "we should head back."

"Hmm." The girl nodded slightly, then she smiled, extended her hand to close the open cabin door.

And in the sky above, Levi looked at the two figures in front of him.

"Levi, today’s events, we will inform the others," the voice with an electric buzz snorted coldly, "I warn you, do not get involved in wars below the level of angels."

"No need to see you off." Levi smiled.

The two exchanged a glance and transformed into rays of light disappearing into the sky.
