Level 999: The Glitch King
Chapter 100: Sentenced to Extraction
The sentence arrived in Manhattan before the extraction team did. Every barrier in the Safe Zone turned white at the edges.
Liam tested the delegated shield before Jace left. He rerouted one harmless barrier segment, returned it, then asked a volunteer anchor to override him. The override worked. Only after proving he could be refused did Liam accept the temporary authority. Jace trusted the test more than the title description.

Eleanor stood across from him.
"Only if you resist."
"Comforting distinction."
A gold transport line opened through the center of the Spire. The man who stepped through looked enough like Charlotte to make the relationship obvious, but where Charlotte carried belief like armor, Sebastian Sunchain carried duty like he had forgotten it could be removed.

"You should not be standing."
"Mostly not."
Sebastian looked toward Emma.
"Has he refused stabilization?"
Emma answered from the medical entrance.
"Depends what you call stabilization."
Sebastian understood the accusation. He did not argue. Instead he opened the extraction contract.

"Extraction separates dangerous systems before recovery."
"Pieces."
Sebastian's voice remained steady.
"Identity. Titles. memories. bloodline functions."
"Pieces."
Sebastian stopped. Then nodded.
"Yes."
That honesty was worse than a slogan. Olivia moved beside Jace.
"Do not sign this."
"If he refuses," Eleanor said, "the collateral clause activates."
"I know what it says."
Liam came through the north entrance. Dust covered his shirt from the restored block.
"What's the move?"
Jace looked at the Safe Zone dashboard.

Liam stared at the numbers.
"Forty-three?"
"Don't get excited."

Jace closed the panel. Seraphina had been silent. Now she stepped toward him.
"If you go with them, they will suppress the title."
"Probably."
"Your Access."
"Probably."
"Your memory."
"Trying not to sign that part."
She looked at the transport seal. Then at him.
"You are surrendering."
"My body."
Her expression changed. She understood. It was not relief, but something harder.
"You are not surrendering the case."
"No."
Sebastian extended one hand.
"Jace. I need your answer."
The Safe Zone stood behind him. Two hundred thirty people. No subjects. No property. Liam holding authority he could give back. Fourteen Free Claims still belonging to the people inside them. Jace opened the surrender contract. He rejected memory waiver. Rejected bloodline-copy permission. Rejected permanent title transfer.
Accepted physical transport. The System resisted.
CONDITIONAL SURRENDER
Terms accepted: 61%.
Minimum legal surrender: 60%.
Contract valid.
Eleanor looked at the number. Then at Jace.
"That was close."
"Story of my week."
The extraction seal closed around his wrists. Hidden inside it, the Error Mark stayed dark. Across the Safe Zone, control shifted fully into the volunteer network. Jace looked at Liam.
"Keep the lights on."
Liam looked back.
"Come get them yourself."
Jace accepted the transport.
The House Trial released him to Sunchain.
