Chapter 756: Chapter 348: The Lawyer Takes Over, Mike’s Signature Move (Part 3)

"The wound hasn’t gotten infected, it’s healing well." She checked while asking in a professional tone, "Can your fingers exert force normally? Try making a fist."

Lin Yu’an slowly made a fist. Though he could feel the pulling sting from the skin on his palm, his movement was still strong.

"Flexibility isn’t an issue." After Riven confirmed this, she took out a new roll of waterproof medical tape and a pair of very professional-looking sailing fingerless gloves from her backpack.

"I’ll help you re-bandage using this waterproof tape to prevent soaking in seawater. Then, wear this."

As she spoke, she knelt beside him on the sun-warmed deck, and gently tended to Lin Yu’an’s wound again.

Her hands, accustomed to battling sails and rough ropes, meticulously focused on each step, disinfecting, applying medicine, and bandaging, with each action carried out meticulously.

The surrounding world seemed to quiet down, with only the gentle rhythm of waves lapping against the hull and the faint sound of her delicate work remaining.

The slanting morning sunlight dyed the sea surface into a shimmering gold, its warm rays piercing through the white sails, softly draping over her.

It adorned her lowered lashes with a captivating halo, making the few strands of her light golden hair tousled by the sea breeze exceptionally dazzling.

The sunlight softened her well-defined profile, adding a rare touch of gentleness to her face, usually wearing a cool expression.

Captain Mike watched this scene, suddenly feeling a bit upset, jealousy arising in his heart.

His fearless daughter, who had been like a tomboy since childhood, followed him through the waves, had she ever cared for a man so... attentively?

Mike cleared his throat, trying to break the somewhat too subtle atmosphere in his view.

"Ahem... Riven, that’s enough. We should start the lesson." He spoke in an ostensibly serious tone.

Riven didn’t lift her head, her hands busy, but her mouth relentless: "Shut up, Dad. The student’s health is a prerequisite for ensuring teaching quality."

"You wouldn’t want him to steer your precious Wanderer onto the rocks today because of hand pain, would you?"

The words choked Mike.

Mike looked at his daughter protecting Lin Yu’an, and the little father’s jealousy began to ferment in his heart. He suddenly changed his mind.

Originally, he only wanted Lin Yu’an to review some basics today.

But now, he decided this kid needed to see who the real king of this sea area is!

Also, show his dear daughter that Dad’s skills aren’t something that can be surpassed by a mere one-day prodigy!

"Alright," once Riven finally finished bandaging, Mike clapped his hands, forcibly refocusing everyone’s attention.

"Due to yesterday’s accident, the Wanderer’s main sail pulley system has been upgraded overnight with the best components, it’s absolutely safe."

His gaze swept over Lin Yu’an, then glanced at Riven, who was still explaining glove precautions to Lin Yu’an, and adjusted his statement:

"Today, let’s skip the boring reviews and go straight to something challenging."

He looked at Lin Yu’an, his eyes extremely serious: "Yesterday, you showed me your reaction and calculation abilities."

"Today, I want to see another more important thing—your intuition with the boat, the wind, and the water. An art that cannot be calculated, only felt."

"So, today’s final assessment is: Sailing with no power."

"What?!" Riven paused her bandaging, "Dad, this is too soon! Sailing with no power is the hardest optional project in the ASA 104 course! He’s only on his second day!"

"It’s not too soon for him." Mike shook his head, his gaze locked on Lin Yu’an, filled with indisputable authority.

"I want to see what a born captain can do when tossing aside all calculations and relying solely on intuition."

Riven still wanted to argue, but Lin Yu’an intervened, calmly asking, "What is the core of sailing with no power?"

Seeing Lin Yu’an not fearful but instead directly delving into the technical core, Riven immediately understood.

She swallowed her objection, and her mind instantly switched back to theoretical coaching mode.

She fitted Lin Yu’an with sailing gloves, adjusted the wristband’s tightness, and explained swiftly in a voice only they could hear:

"The core is energy management: the boat’s kinetic energy, wind energy, water flow... you must calculatively utilize and expend every bit of energy like a stingy treasure-hoarding goblin."

"Before finally docking, you need to ’carve glide’ to decelerate through ’S’ sailing, ultimately using reverse rudder to generate ’water brakes’ to counteract the last of the inertia."

"This technique, my dad calls it the Silent Waltz; it’s one of his proudest skills. He’s... showing off to you."

After listening, Lin Yu’an looked at Mike, who had walked to the boat’s edge, with a masterful presence, then at Riven currently adjusting his gloves, he smiled.

"Understood." He softly told Riven, "Then let’s... enjoy the captain’s waltz."

The morning passed without a broadcast. Under Mike’s strict guidance, the three first reviewed and reinforced all operations from yesterday.

Lin Yu’an’s performance could only be described as flawless, as if he’d sailed this way for years, leaving Mike with a belly full of critiques he couldn’t find the opportunity to voice.

After lunch, Mike’s suppressed desire to demonstrate finally found an outlet.

He steered the boat into a wide water area about a hundred meters from the dock, then turned off the engine key.

"Alright, trainee," his voice carried a hint of authoritative command, "the morning warm-up is over; now comes the day’s main course."

Lin Yu’an knew the most crucial session was coming. He retrieved the broadcasting equipment, quickly set it up, then pressed the stream button.

"Good afternoon, everyone." He spoke calmly to the camera.

"This morning, we did some reviews. Now, Captain Mike Montgomery will demonstrate and teach us an advanced sailing technique—sailing with no power."

"According to Coach Riven, this is one of his proud skills, the Silent Waltz."

As the stream went live, fans who had been waiting eagerly flooded in. Hearing this highly challenging project, the bullet screen instantly lit up.

[Finally, finally! Broadcasting this late today? What happened this morning?]

[Sailing with no power? Just using the wind to dock the boat? How is that possible?!]

[Silent Waltz? That name is so pretentious... looking forward to the old captain’s performance!]

Captain Mike accepted the lapel microphone Lin Yu’an handed him, a hint of resignation over his daughter spoiling the skill’s name on his face, but more was the confidence of an impending performance.

He greeted the camera and then started a performance akin to a masterpiece.
