Chapter 755: Chapter 348: Lawyer Takes Over, Mike’s Signature Move (2)

The ocean that had made him feel free and serene had just shown him the ugliest side of human nature.

"My demands are very simple, David." He said each word with a calm but irrefutable determination.

"Not a single one can be let off."

"Those who can go to jail, make sure they end up there. Those who can be fined painfully, empty their pockets. Anyone who needs to be prosecuted, regardless of who they are, serve them the subpoena."

"As for apologies..." He paused, "I don’t accept private apologies."

"I like this goal, boss. Leave it to me, you just need to heal up and continue your sailing lessons. The rest, just wait and watch the show."

"By the way, there’s one more thing, David." Lin Yu’an wasn’t overwhelmed by the thrill of revenge, maintaining absolute calmness.

"I heard through a local information channel that donating money to the Coast Guard Search and Rescue Foundation might accelerate the case handling efficiency. Is there any legal risk in this?"

David clearly appreciated Lin Yu’an for asking this question.

"Good question, boss, this is the difference between professional and amateur."

"The answer is there’s no risk, but there’s a skill to it."

"First, the donation must not be made directly by you or any of your affiliated companies. I will arrange a third-party charity trust completely unconnected to the case to accomplish this."

"Secondly, the timing of the donation must be after the Coast Guard has formally filed the case based on your video evidence."

"Lastly, the purpose of the donation must be broadly for supporting maritime safety construction, not specifically designated for a particular case."

David spoke in a rule-teaching tone, "Boss, we’re not bribing; we’re expressing our concern for public safety and supporting the law enforcement to enhance their work efficiency."

"All of this will be done within the legal framework in the most unassailable way, leaving no handle for anyone."

"However, boss, your situation this time is entirely different."

David’s voice became extremely confident, filled with strategic control.

"You’ve forgotten the most crucial point, you were live broadcasting at that time. And it was a broadcast to millions of people worldwide. Do you know what that means?"

Lin Yu’an listened quietly.

"It means that from the moment the Coast Guard received the report, they were no longer handling an ordinary maritime infringement case."

"They were conducting a publicly broadcast crisis management under the spotlight of global media!"

"Your live broadcast footage is likely going viral on social media worldwide. CNN, FOX, BBC...their reporters might be rushing to the Fort Lauderdale Coast Guard office as we speak?"

"In this situation," David’s tone became slightly mocking, "there’s absolutely no need to speed them up. The media pressure will be more like a red-hot iron on their backsides than any donation!"

"If they show any delay, inefficiency, or if the media digs up any background on the perpetrators that leads to lax enforcement..."

"Then it won’t just be a case, but an incident severe enough to cost the station chief their position!"

"So, boss," David’s tone relaxed again, "this time you don’t need to spend a dime. Not only that, but you should also play the role of the perfect victim."

"I’ll have Scoot’s PR team subtly leak to the media about your injury and your firm trust in the justice of the United States."

"This will put them on the hot seat, and at that point, the ones most eager to quickly solve the case and punish the culprits won’t be us, but the Coast Guard themselves!"

"They’ll utilize all resources, more eager than us to prove their capability and fairness to the world."

"As for the donation you mentioned," David added finally, "you can make it under your name to the Foundation to thank them for their efficient work after the case concludes perfectly."

"That way, not only will we have won the case, but we’ll also gain a reputation and establish a good relationship with the law enforcement. That’s the proper sequence of progress."

"I understand, I’ll leave this matter to you to follow up." Lin Yu’an completely eased his mind.

"No problem! Wait for my good news." David’s voice turned relaxed again, "Go rest, boss. I’ve taken up your battle now, see you in court."

Early the next morning, just before dawn, Fort Lauderdale was still immersed in the final tranquility before dawn.

In the gym on the top floor of the hotel, Lin Yu’an was the only one there.

He was wearing a T-shirt and sport shorts, doing steady-paced aerobic training on the treadmill.

Sweat slid gently down the defined grooves of his muscles, reflecting a healthy glow under the lights.

After taking a shower and changing into clean quick-drying clothes, Lin Yu’an once again arrived punctually at the Blue Water Sailing Academy’s dock before the agreed time.

The sun was just right, the breeze was gentle, and the events of yesterday seemed like just a dream.

Mike and Riven were already waiting in the office.

"Good morning, Captain, Coach." Lin Yu’an greeted proactively.

"Morning." Mike nodded, his gaze immediately fell on Lin Yu’an’s re-bandaged hand, with a barely noticeable frown.

Before he could speak, Riven stepped forward: "Stretch out your hand, let me check."

Lin Yu’an obediently extended his right hand, and Riven carefully unwrapped the outer bandage, relaxing her brow upon seeing that the wound, despite being overnight, had improved significantly.
