Chapter 743: Chapter 344: Boat’s Reverse Launch, Riven’s Charisma (Part 2)

[This is like a water navigation test! Docking the boat?]

[This is way harder than reversing a car, the water flows!]

Lin Yu’an tried twice, once almost hitting because of over-steering, and once being carried off by the current due to too little throttle.

Though he failed, each adjustment he made got closer to success than the last.

Riven watched from the side, silently. She noticed that after the second failure, Lin Yu’an didn’t immediately start a third attempt.

Instead, he closed his eyes, fingers lightly sketching something in the air, muttering under his breath. She knew this monster was doing his terrifying mental calculations again.

Curiosity driven, Riven moved closer to Lin Yu’an, watching his face.

A few seconds later, Lin Yu’an opened his eyes and turned to Mike: "Captain, just to confirm, this boat’s propeller is right-handed, correct?"

Mike froze, and before he could answer, Riven couldn’t help but laugh.

At this moment, she was barefoot, casually seated at the observation spot next to the helmsman, sunlight unrestrainedly kissing her honey-colored skin, as if every inch was glowing.

She leaned close to Lin Yu’an, a faint scent of sunscreen mingling with the heat wave.

"Oh? Our calculating master has finally discovered the boat’s little secret?" Her voice carried a hint of tease, "How did you figure it out? Was it intuition?"

Riven was very close, a distance that left Lin Yu’an unable to avoid taking in her current appearance entirely.

He subconsciously glanced over.

Her bikini was a simple strap style, with scant fabric that perfectly outlined her powerful yet feminine curves.

Thanks to years of windsurfing, swimming, and other water sports, there was not an ounce of excess fat on her body.

On her flat abdomen, two clearly visible abs cast beautiful shadows under the sunlight, extending down to disappear at the edge of her swimsuit.

Her shoulders were round and strong, her arms coated with a thin layer of muscle full of a healthy sense of beauty.

Most striking was her skin, kissed by the sun to a honey hue, firm and elastic.

As she leaned in, Lin Yu’an could even see the deep, alluring groove created by her swimsuit straps on her skin.

This was a body meticulously sculpted by the sea and the sun, brimming with wild confidence and vitality.

Lin Yu’an’s strong self-control allowed him to swiftly avert his gaze.

Discreetly, he leaned back slightly, opening up that overly intimate distance, his expression returning to calm as he shifted his eyes back to Mike, as if his momentary lapse had never happened.

"During the reverse, the stern lightly sways to the left," he answered Riven’s question in an unruffled tone, "I just noticed the phenomenon."

This subtle distancing action made Riven’s blue eyes flicker, yet rather than retreating from his detachment, her smile grew broader.

The live-streaming audience became lively due to this tension-filled scene.

[Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap! The camera zoomed in just now! Teacher Riven’s figure is incredible!]

[Nosebleed... my nosebleed... those abs! Those long legs! How can she be so cool and sexy!]

[Such a tease! Such an extreme tease! God Lin was definitely moved! He backed off! He got flustered!]

[Teacher Riven is going all out testing, Anzi is defending like crazy! This is the most exciting part today!]

[@Aliya, sis-in-law, the backyard is about to catch fire! Urgent situation!]

[Don’t mess around upstairs! I trust Anzi! He’s just appreciating beauty! Yes, appreciating! Pure appreciation!]

Lin Yu’an continued, "During the reverse, the stern lightly sways to the left. But it doesn’t while moving forward, so I guess it’s the propeller’s rotation creating a lateral force."

Riven’s face revealed unreserved admiration, she picked up the conversation, deciding to give this monstrous student and the live-stream audience an extra-advanced lesson.

"Absolutely correct! Lin, you’ve discovered a secret we call the ’boat’s reverse launch effect.’"

She explained to the camera and Lin Yu’an, "You can think of the propeller as a wheel spinning in the water."

"In forward motion, the water flows over the rudder, so steering is mainly controlled by it. But during reverse, the water doesn’t flow over the rudder, rendering it practically useless!"

"That’s when the propeller’s inherent ’torque’, like the friction of a wheel, pushes the stern sideways."

"For our standard right-handed propeller boat," she made a spinning motion with her hand, "when it reverses, it powerfully ’launches’ the stern to the left."

"Many beginners see this as a big hassle because the boat doesn’t go straight. But for us, it’s a skill we can leverage!"

"Exactly!" Mike loudly added, "Since you know this, use it! Don’t circle around like a car, that’s the rookie way!"

"Use the propeller’s ’launch’, combine it with the rudder and throttle, give it a shot!"

Under Mike and Riven’s eager watch, Lin Yu’an began his third attempt.

This time, his maneuvers were full of confidence and purpose. First, he aligned the bow with a buoy, then sharply put it into reverse while turning the rudder fully right.

Just as he expected, the rudder hardly worked in reverse, but the strong counter-force from the propeller, like an invisible giant hand, sharply ’launched’ the stern to the left!
