Junior Sister, I Really Have to Control You
Chapter 47 - 32: Junior Sister’s Breakthrough
Chapter 47: Chapter 32: Junior Sister’s Breakthrough
Before heading into the kitchen to boil the Crane Egg, Li Yinsheng had told her to return to her bedroom, wash off her sweat, and change her clothes. He hadn’t expected her to move so swiftly; she finished the task in just a short while.
"Senior Brother, is it cooked yet?"
Mu Xiaoyu walked up to the stove, staring at the Crane Egg tumbling in the boiling water, swallowing hard repeatedly.
"It’s only about seventy or eighty percent cooked right now. Wait a bit longer," Li Yinsheng said, shaking his head. The eggshell could block the Divine Sense of ordinary Cultivators, but it couldn’t stop the Divine Sense of a Daoist.
"It doesn’t matter, Senior Brother! Soft-boiled eggs taste even better!" Mu Xiaoyu was already growing impatient, bouncing up and down to the side.
Li Yinsheng raised an eyebrow and glanced at the energetic Mu Xiaoyu. "Junior Sister, you still have the Quenching Essence Lock hanging on you, and you’ve been training all day. Aren’t you tired?"
At that moment, the Quenching Essence Lock on Mu Xiaoyu weighed one hundred and twenty pounds. Although it was much easier to bear than carrying a physical weight of the same mass because the burden was evenly distributed across every inch of her body, it was still a heavy load. Usually, Mu Xiaoyu looked listless before her training. Today, after practicing for an entire day, she still had the energy to bounce around.
"Hehe," Mu Xiaoyu smiled sheepishly. "I just get really excited when I come across good food. My body doesn’t feel that tired anymore."
"How can you be so sure it’s a delicacy?" Li Yinsheng shook his head. "What if the Spirit Beast Egg only has miraculous nourishing effects but tastes mediocre?"
"How is that possible!" Mu Xiaoyu immediately shook her head. "I smelled the aroma of the egg the moment I walked in! It smells a hundred times better than the salted boiled eggs we have at home! How could it not taste good?"
An egg aroma? Li Yinsheng sniffed the air but only smelled water vapor. He wondered if this girl’s gluttony had given her hallucinations. He couldn’t help but chuckle. After a moment of thought, he raised his hand and used telekinesis to lift the egg from the boiling water. With a gentle tremor, the eggshell shattered into even fragments and peeled off.
"If you want a soft-boiled egg, it should be just right now." He figured that since the Primordial Energy within the egg wouldn’t be affected by boiling, if the kid loved soft-boiled eggs, she could just have them. In theory, as long as one’s palate was hardcore enough, eating it raw wouldn’t make a difference either.
Li Yinsheng placed the egg on a plate.
Unlike a regular boiled chicken egg, even though the Crane Egg was cooked, its egg white only solidified but didn’t turn white. Instead, it looked crystal clear, resembling meat jelly. In the center hung a golden yolk the size of a normal chicken egg.
Mu Xiaoyu picked up a knife, measured it from left to right for a long time, and sliced the Crane Egg into two pieces—one large and one small. The larger piece made up about seventy percent of the egg and contained most of the yolk. Although it was soft-boiled, it didn’t ooze out. The smaller piece was only thirty percent, with a much smaller portion of the yolk.
Setting the knife down, Mu Xiaoyu couldn’t wait to scoop up the smaller piece onto a small saucer. "Senior Brother, let’s try it quickly! I can’t hold back anymore, it smells so good! I’ll take a bite first!"
The moment the crystal-clear egg white entered her mouth, Mu Xiaoyu stood bolt upright, her eyes lighting up with utter bliss.
"Mmph! Mmph! Mmph!"
She immediately shoved a large mouthful in with her chopsticks. As she chewed, she danced around joyfully and pointed at the plate in front of Li Yinsheng, gesturing for him to try it.
Mu Xiaoyu swore that this was the absolute best thing she had ever eaten in her entire life! She had never eaten anything this delicious, not even in her dreams! Moreover, not only was the taste indescribably good, but after swallowing it, her whole body felt warm and incredibly comfortable, as if the fatigue from a full day of cultivation had vanished into thin air.
In just a few bites, Mu Xiaoyu devoured the Crane Egg on her saucer. Then, she stared longingly at the large piece on Li Yinsheng’s plate that he hadn’t touched yet.
"Here." Li Yinsheng smiled and pushed it toward her.
Mu Xiaoyu hesitated for a moment, but desire ultimately triumphed over reason. She reached out, picked up the knife, and carefully sliced off a willow-leaf-sized piece of egg white. Not even bothering with chopsticks, she pinched it with her fingers and prepared to pop it into her mouth. After all, she reasoned, she had just washed her hands!
Li Yinsheng rubbed her head and chuckled. "Eat it in big bites. It’s all yours."
"Huh?" Mu Xiaoyu froze, holding the slice of egg white. "Aren’t you going to eat it, Senior Brother? This was the compensation those people gave you."
"This item is of great benefit to mortals and ordinary Cultivators for their cultivation," Li Yinsheng shook his head, "but with my current Cultivation, it offers absolutely no help. Eating it would be a waste, so it was prepared for you in the first place."
Mu Xiaoyu’s eyes lit up. "Senior Brother, you really are the best Senior Brother in the world!" But soon after, as if remembering something, she hastily added, "But it really tastes so good! Even if it’s useless to you, Senior Brother, you should at least taste it!"
"Why eat it if it’s useless?" Li Yinsheng shook his head.
"Because it’s delicious! It’s genuinely delicious, better than everything I’ve ever eaten!" Mu Xiaoyu said earnestly. "Hurry up and taste it, Senior Brother!"
Li Yinsheng shook his head once more.
"Mmm, alright then." Mu Xiaoyu didn’t force the issue and lowered the piece of egg white she had held up.
Then, she suddenly raised her other hand, pointed at the door behind Li Yinsheng, and shouted in utter panic, "Senior Brother! Those bad guys are back!"
Li Yinsheng raised an eyebrow, gave her a glance, and only then turned his head to look at the door.
With lightning-fast reflexes, Mu Xiaoyu dipped the slice of egg white in her hand into the soft-boiled yolk. At the exact moment Li Yinsheng "coincidentally" turned his head back, she swiftly shoved it into his mouth.
"How is it, Senior Brother?" Mu Xiaoyu looked at Li Yinsheng, full of anticipation. "Is it delicious?"
Li Yinsheng licked the yolk off his lips and patted Mu Xiaoyu’s head. "Little girl, scheming against me?"
"Is it delicious or not!" Mu Xiaoyu pressed.
"Yeah, it’s alright." Li Yinsheng nodded.
"Just alright?" Mu Xiaoyu was a bit skeptical.
"You are a mortal, but I am not," Li Yinsheng shrugged. "I’ve feasted on the rarest of legendary delicacies. For me to say it’s alright is already very high praise."
