Chapter 46: Chapter 32: Junior Sister’s Breakthrough

At dusk, inside the Yellow Crane Temple.

A group of eight people squeezed onto the Temple Master’s Talisman Crane, landing back in the temple.

Even though the Talisman Crane’s wingspan extended to twenty feet after being enlarged, its back wasn’t particularly broad. Furthermore, a large area had to be reserved for the Temple Master and Vice Temple Master. As a result, the remaining six people were practically shoulder to shoulder, huddled together in a tight cluster.

There were quite a few disciples in the Yellow Crane Temple. Seeing this bizarre spectacle involving the Talisman Crane, they stopped in their tracks. In the blink of an eye, a crowd had gathered around them.

Talisman Cranes were already an uncommon sight, not to mention one carrying so many people. The passing disciples naturally wanted a look.

It was just like in Li Yinsheng’s past life: if a helicopter landed on a university sports field, a crowd of onlookers would inevitably gather.

The Temple Master’s face darkened.

The scope of this humiliating incident had been small and it was over quickly, meaning absolutely no rumors had spread through the temple. These disciples were simply looking at the Talisman Crane without the slightest malice. Even so, he still couldn’t help but bellow in anger.

"What are you all looking at! Have you no sense of propriety? Why aren’t you going about your own business? Those who have work, go work! Those who should be cultivating, go cultivate! Anyone else caught idling around will be fined a thousand talismanic coins!"

The disciples of the Yellow Crane Temple instantly scattered in all directions.

His residual anger unabated, the Temple Master leapt down from the crane’s back. Without even a word of warning, he withdrew the Talisman Crane, causing the six disciples atop it to suddenly fall flat on their rears.

Five hundred thousand talismanic coins in cash were just gone like that. He was in a very bad mood right now.

The Yellow Crane Temple was the kind of Daoist Temple without any exclusive means of making money. Their earning capability was quite average, and their reserves of talismanic coins were never large to begin with. While this loss wasn’t exactly fatal, they were certainly going to suffer for a while.

Ignoring the six disciples, the Temple Master led the Vice Temple Master straight into the main hall and knelt before Daoist Huang He, who sat in the seat of honor.

"Alright, since the matter is settled, you can both stand up and speak."

Daoist Huang He waved his hand and looked at the Vice Temple Master. "Huang, you crossed hands with that junior from the Xuanzhen Temple. What is your assessment of him?"

"Unfathomable," Vice Temple Master Huang said, lingering fear still evident in his voice. "To think that not only is this person’s Cultivation profound, but he is also a Body Cultivator."

"A Body Cultivator?" Daoist Huang He paused in surprise. "Is that true?"

"Absolutely no falsehoods!" Vice Temple Master Huang pledged confidently. "Your grand-disciple possesses an Upper Grade Magical Artifact, yet he dented it with just a few punches, damaging it with the impact."

"Hiss... then he is undoubtedly a Body Cultivator," Daoist Huang He said, stroking his chin. "How truly bizarre. Body Cultivators are notorious for their slow cultivation speed.

"Previously, I had been suspecting that since Fellow Daoist Bai Hong hadn’t shown his face in a long time, and that junior’s Cultivation was absurdly high, perhaps Bai Hong possessed some Secret Technique and had actually quietly passed his Cultivation onto the junior before passing away in meditation."

"Then wouldn’t that mean this person’s progress will stop here for the rest of his life?" The Temple Master’s eyes lit up.

"It wasn’t a transfer of Cultivation," Daoist Huang He waved his hand. "At the time, it was merely a guess, which is why I never voiced it. But looking at it now, it’s definitely not a transfer of Cultivation.

"Fellow Daoist Bai Hong is a Sword Cultivator. Even if he transferred his Cultivation, the result should be another Sword Cultivator, or at the very least, a Qi Refining Cultivator. How could he possibly produce a Body Cultivator?"

"Then this person truly achieved this purely relying on his own talent?" Vice Temple Master Huang still found it somewhat hard to believe.

"That is the only possibility," Daoist Huang He shook his head and picked up his teacup. "It’s just a pity about my Crane Egg.

"I originally thought his foundation was shallow, so I gifted him a Crane Egg to nourish it. But who would have thought he’d turn out to be a Body Cultivator? His foundation won’t be weak at all, meaning this Crane Egg... won’t be of much use to him."

"Then..." The Temple Master’s brain short-circuited, and he blurted out, "How about your grand-disciple goes and asks for the Crane Egg back?"

Daoist Huang He froze, his teacup halfway to his mouth.

A moment later, he waved his hand, slapping both the Temple Master and Vice Temple Master out of the main hall.

"Scram!"

Late at night, in the kitchen of the Xuanzhen Temple.

"This Crane Egg is incredibly useful!"

Li Yinsheng stared at the Crane Egg simmering in a pot, unable to stop himself from rubbing his hands together in anticipation.

After advancing to become a Daoist, his Perception Ability was completely different from before. Although he hadn’t formally learned any investigative Magic, he could still clearly sense the pure Primordial Energy contained within.

In terms of quantity, this Primordial Energy wasn’t considered a lot, but its quality was extremely high.

However, the reason he was so excited wasn’t because this Crane Egg was of any great use to him. After breaking through to become a Daoist, the quality of his own Primordial Energy had far surpassed that of this Crane Egg.

To him, this Crane Egg was basically useless.

But for his junior sister, its usefulness was immense!

The first three layers of the Qingxuan Scripture all required the tempering of Primordial Energy to establish a solid foundation. This was a step that was very difficult to fast-track.

But with this Crane Egg, Li Yinsheng estimated that it would be enough to instantly fill his junior sister’s body with Primordial Energy, bringing it to a level comparable to someone who had completely mastered the Third Layer of the Qingxuan Scripture.

It might even surpass that.

This way, she could save at least several years of arduous effort.

Of course, this didn’t mean that simply consuming a Crane Egg would instantly allow his junior sister to cultivate to the Third Layer of the Qingxuan Scripture.

No matter how pure and harmless the Primordial Energy in this Crane Egg was, its quality was still very high for her. She would need a considerable amount of time to complete the Refinement of all the Primordial Energy within it.

Li Yinsheng figured that if she continued with her current intensity of training, this process should take roughly six to nine months.

However, with so much Primordial Energy establishing her foundation, she could absolutely increase her training intensity a bit more, which meant the actual time required would be even shorter.

Secondly, starting from the second layer, the Qingxuan Scripture required the cultivation of Magical Power.

To break through, both Magical Power and Primordial Energy needed to meet the requirements.

This Crane Egg possessed no function for increasing Magical Power. When the time came, he would have to think of another method for her Magical Power cultivation.

"KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!"

A rapid series of knocks rang out on the door.

"Come in," Li Yinsheng said.

Mu Xiaoyu walked in briskly. Her hair was damp, and she had changed into a clean Daoist Robe.
