Chapter 1585: Division of Primal
Chapter 1585: Division of Primal
After realizing the class of Primals, Wang Wei realized he may be in trouble. During their training, Wu Hong divided Primal into six tiers to facilitate a better understanding of his standing and the amount he needed to learn. It’s also served as a way to prevent him from getting cocky.
The lowest class is the E-Class, and this level is reserved for people like Water Immortals, who are flawed Primals. This level did not exist until a few thousand Yuan Epoch ago, when they used the latter as a pawn to control the Limitless Exchange Hall. E-Class Primals’ strength is not that much different from the above class, but their flaws mean a significant weakness that can be easily exploited.
D-Class Primals are the regular kind. They’ve mastered three Ultimate Skills and received the blessing of Heaven and Earth, which strengthens their souls, allowing them to utilize these skills without any burden. This class is where new primals, such as the Song twins and Yan Shirong, as well as the Grand Preceptor, are allocated.
This class is also the requirement needed to acquire the Paragon Battle Taboo Realm. In other words, Wang Wei will only need to have this level of battle prowess while sealing his strength to 90% and he will receive the achievement for the Battle Taboo Realm. According to his calculation and deduction with Wu Hong, having the strength of higher primals, he met nothing since this division was not official, but rather something Wu Hong had created for herself and the people around her.
C-Class Primals are a class above the lower tier. In that tier, Primals do not only have three Ultimate Skills. They have a Speed Ultimate Skill, a Defense Ultimate Skill, a Sealing Ultimate Skill, an Escape Ultimate Skill, and numerous others. That tier of Primal has developed multiple techniques to the pinnacle, and fighting them means they can bombard their enemy with Ultimate Skills.
In that tier, age also plays a significant role—the older a Primal, the more time they’ve had to create an Ultimate Skill. Wang Wei was aware of the limitations of his young age. Therefore, he’s planning on relying on his [Force Control Skill] to reach that class of Primal in one step.
B-Class Primals are on another level. One of the primary components of battles in the Paragon Realm is the utilization of the Grand Constructs. The higher a Paragon’s strength, the more prevalent this becomes, and this truth does not stop at the Primal Tier — on the contrary, it becomes even more critical.
According to Wu Hong, a B-Class Primal will have established a perfect connection with one of the Grand Constructs and can passively draw out their powers without much burden on their bodies or souls. The most common Grand Construct used is the Source Qi Space, due to its versatility and the fact that it encompasses all attributes.
A B-Class Primal can draw all kinds of Immortals or other Qis from the space and boost all their Ultimate Skills. They possess such a mastery of this process that it’s incredibly challenging to sever their connection to the Source Qi Space, and the process does not place a significant burden on them.
B-Class is the dividing line between normal and elite Primals. Anyone can become a C-Class Primal if given enough time. However, only the talented individuals who have spent years studying and understanding the Grand Constructs can reach such a level.
A-Class is another major jump in difficulty. The minimum requirement for this class is the mastery of three Grand Constructs. Cultivators have difficulty reaching this tier because of the nature of the Constructs. It’s possible to find a Qi that suits anyone from the Source Qi Space, so success is only a matter of time and effort.
The Grand Dao Source can release a pure and raw power that is neutral in its attributes, which most Primals can use as the basis for their skills. Although mostly used as the energy for transitioning into higher states of cultivation, it can also be used for battle. Primals can even convert that raw power into a force with the same attribute as their Dao.
The major challenge of becoming an A-Class Primal is the remaining Constructs. The River of Time or River of Fate has too many defining characteristics. If a Primal cultivates a Dao not related to any of them, it’s very likely they do not have a high affinity for these Constructs, or they lack sufficient understanding to form an unbreakable link to these constructs; it’s even more impossible to use them to their full capacity.
The problem is essentially the same for the remaining Grand Constructs. Primordial Chaos is also a unique power, but the greater obstacle to mastering its power is the resistance of the Primordial Will. An A-Class Primal must learn how to use the power of Primordial Chaos with the interference of the Primordial Will.
The last Grand Construct is the Six Paths of Samsara. Besides the affinity for Death or Samsara Dao, a Primal must deal with the Yama Kings to use its power. They must either come to an agreement with these people or find a way to utilize that power without them noticing or without affecting the operation of the afterlife.
With all these challenges, many Primals are stuck in the B-Class with no hope of moving upward. However, A-Class is not the limit of this division. According to Wu Hong, the strength of A-Class is fluctuating. There is a reason why she chose the connection of three Grand Constructs as the requirement for that class.
Extremely talented Primals can have mastery of all six Grand Constructs. They can even use Ultimate Skills boosted by all six. However, A-Class Primals can only use three Constructs without any burden. After four Constructs, each attack will take a heavy toll not only on their souls, but also on their bodies, forcing them to be extremely careful when to utilize these ungodly Ultimate Skills.
After condensing her Perfect Foundation, Wu Hong realized she could now use four Grand Constructs normally without suffering from any burden or backlash. So, she created the S-Class Primals with individuals possessing one Transcendent Foundation and mastery of four Grand Constructs.
Unfortunately, she has only recently finished the Thirteen Transcendent Foundation and did not have time to test it out before Ying Zheng attacked. According to Wu Hong’s analysis, the second transcendent foundation will allow her to use 5 Grand Constructs without an issue, and a third transcendent foundation should enable her to tap into all six public Grand Constructs.
As for the Hidden Constructs, well, it did not matter since few people even know of their existence. Some people have discovered them, but Wang Wei or Wu Hong doubted anyone could draw power from them. As such, they theorized that the limit of transcendent foundation someone needs before becoming a Primordial Chaos Saint is three.
’A B-Class Primal is an issue,’ Wang Wei thought as the assassin’s Escape Skill worked. His [Nothingness Black Hole] captured the clones that escaped to the past or other timelines, but the one that ran into the future successfully escaped.
Wang Wei used this opportunity to regenerate his body and used his Soul Ring to recuperate his soul fatigue. ’I’m only a Pseudo B-Class Primal, and dealing with her will be an issue.’
He only had two Ultimate Skills, but he had numerous "perfect skills," which were the techniques he developed by studying Ji Chengming. Perfect Skills are basically Ultimate Skills Prototypes. With the right assistance or aid, they can rise to the level of Ultimate Skills.
A perfect example is the [Nothingness Black Hole]. Without intense focus to inject a copious amount of energy from his [Nothingness Wheel], this spell would not be as potent. However, if Wang Wei could find a way to instantly combine a large quantity of [Power of Nothingness] with this spell, it would become an Ultimate Skill. Luckily for him, he only needs to finish the [Force Control Skill], and his control over the [Power of Nothingness] will reach the level to update this perfect skill into an Ultimate Skill.
Wang Wei possesses numerous perfect skills, meaning that with the right tactical moves, he can transform them into Ultimate Skills. Lastly, he is the Son of Fate. His affinity and connection with the River of Fate have always been unparalleled. After the past few thousand Yuan Epoch of training, he has already met that requirement for B-Class by forming an unbreakable bond with the river. The only issue is his soul cannot bear the constant burden of using its power, but that’s why the Soul Rings exist.
Wang Wei knew he could technically face off against a B-Class. However, the longer the battle continued, the more his flaws would be magnified and used against him.
’I need to end this battle swiftly,’ Wang Wei analyzed. His greatest weakness as a Pseudo B-Class is his lack of ChronoSpirit Ultimate Skill. While his opponent probably has the means to kill him permanently, he can only send her into Limbo. Additionally, the longer this fight lasted, the more danger he was in.
