Chapter 1268 - 1268: Blush is red!
After separating from him, and after not having as much of a fun time as she had expected at the end, she was back to her home.
Her lovely home that she loved more than any other place that they owned.
“Welcome back, young miss.”
“Hello uncle Zhen~. How are you doing~.”
She was still in a good mood though.
“You seem to be in a good mood, hun? Did anything good happen?”
Even though she could not have a good dinner and had to end up with normal food that anyone could buy, since she couldn’t take the image of that attractive man out of her mind, she was having a fun time.
“Yup~. Something adorable happened~.”
She handed the hooded cloak she that she had been wearing along with the file that she had collected to the Middle Aged person in a butler outfit with a smile on her face.
And when the head butler of her household, the closest aid of her father and an uncle that she had played with ever since she was young opened and saw the file, a stunned look appeared on his face.
“Young Miss?”
“Hehe, don’t act like that~. Read, and go check him out if you want. He’s not a bad one~.”
She was cheerful right now.
It was rare and didn’t fit her normal character but as someone that had seen her grow up from a young girl that didn’t even know how to hold a spoon to a fine lady that had earned respect of a number of important individuals of this world, he this wasn’t the first time he was seeing this side of hers.
And that was exactly the reason he was even more worried.
“Haaaa… I should have come with you, after all.”
The last time she was acting like that after meeting an ‘interesting’ person, she had to face severe consequences.
Her trust was betrayed, she lost a significant part of her business, she even had to face societal pressures on various fronts.
“I will go and check this ‘adorable’ one. Will you tell me about your meeting when I’m back?”
“Sure~. If you want to know, it’s a pretty fun story.”
She was smiling, which was good. But she was smiling too much, and that was not a good thing.
“Then, please excuse me. Ah, and the Matriarch was looking for you so you should visit her.”
“Sure~. I was going to go see mom anyway~.”
His shimmering blue eyes contained a kind of death on them that could only be explained by the effects of the passage of time. As well as one’s various life threatening experiences.
“Then please take care of yourself.”
-Oooooong.
He bowed to her gracefully and in a blink of an eye, his entire body had melted away into his own shadow. Leaving no trace of him behind.
“Alright then~.”
She had seen him do that countless times now. She wasn’t even slightly surprised by this so, with the same happy smile on her face, she turned around and faced the stairs on the left side of the grand hall present before her.
Her house was pretty big… actually, it was big enough to be called an estate. Which it actually was… yes.
She was a noble, and nobles at least owned estates of their own.
And since she was also form an important and lived in the capital city of the empire, the estate that she lived in, ultimately, was also a large place a third of it being front garden, significant part of it being the mansion that seemed no less than a castle, and a backyard so big that it contained two large buildings belonging to the mage units and the knight units of their family.
Yes She lived here.
She owned a few more estates of her own throughout the world, but this was the home that she preferred over all those houses.
Though, of course, this wasn’t the only ‘home’ that she loved.
And the eternal imperial castle was clearly visible from the roof of her house, so its positioning was even more special.
‘I wonder what he’s doing…’
She was lost in her own thoughts as she climbed the fine wooden stairs and looked around at the rich decorations of her house that she had been seeing for years now.
She was happy. It was a rare occasion and a bit unfamiliar as well, but she didn’t mind it. She had a positive feeling about this, truthfully.
So, she climbed up to the next floor, then to the next one after that, and there, after walking a little more, she reached the room where the one she was supposed to meet should have been…
-Knock. Knock.
“Mother?”
But seeing as there was no answer from the door, she knew there was no one here. And she checked to be sure as well, but the big room filled with not as many shiny things was actually empty.
“Looks like she’s in her office.”
So she walked to the end of that floor, and reached the door that looked significantly different from the other identical doors present throughout that floor.
“Come in.”
And, as she knew, she didn’t have to knock on the door as the one she was here to see, already had sensed her footsteps as soon as she arrived there.
“Please excuse me.”
-Cink—clank!
She walked in, and closed the door behind her.
“Good evening, mother.”
She was standing on the other side of the room, looking out of the big window, bathing in the serene moonlight of the new night, looking as gorgeous as she does throughout any day of any week or any month.
“Come darling. Come, join me.”
The window was open so her long flowing hair that resembled the eternal, vast oceans where they all originate from, were facing the winds of this young night.
-Step. Step. Step.
She could tell from the look in her eyes, eyes that resembled her own brown eyes but were much deeper and filled with wisdom than her own, that she was in a good mood for some reason today.
“What are you looking at?”
She walked beside her and looked outside the window with her.
“Just the same old things.”
Their front garden was present in full view before them.
The three fountains in the garden, the many flower areas that her little Haze had grown with her love poured into raising them, and she could see the night scene that she had seen countless times before this day already.
The lights of the night, the beauty of their home, the night of the empire visible past the ends of their estate, and the noises that this night had brought them.
It was all familiar to her already.
“Then, what are we looking at?”
