There were around twenty people present in this room aside from her and all of them were considerate of her presence.

They were working normally, but it was obvious how aware they were of her presence.

This was a rare sight in a place like the association, however, it was understandable since she was related to one of the major figures of this place, as well as the empire.

“What’s taking them so long?” She wondered as she flipped through another bunch of wrong files.

She was here for something important and her patience was running out with each passing minute.

“T-they should be here any moment… now, Miss. Should I go and-.”

“They are here!”

She was here for the file of the attractive adventurer that she was going to meet once again after she was done here, and nothing else really mattered to here.

There was only one thing on her mind— the adorable hunter with red eyes.

“Miss Nolan! You should have informed me if you were going to-.”

“Mary, it’s important, help me out here. And the rest of the people can go back to their work.” She advised with a calm smile on her face and though there wasn’t any deep meaning behind that smile this time, they knew just what this smile could mean in different circumstances…

“Y-yes! Everyone! Focus on your work!”

The manager himself that held a authoritive position in this part of the association tower was worried of what she was capable of so, he just left her and the only employee of this section that she usually talked to, and went back to his work.

“Miss Nolan… what are you doing here?”

“Just put a sound barrier and talk comfortably, dear.”

She was so focused on what she was doing that she didn’t even look up while saying that, a rare sight for her friend that has just arrived here.

“What has gotten into you today?”

Using the wind elemental Mana, she conjured a barrier that blocked their voice from leaking out, and started using casual speech with her… something no one else here had done until now.

“Gimme the file of that Red-eyes hunter.” She requested with a smirk on her face that indicated that she was up to no good this time either, and since she had come here directly instead of telling her to bring that file to her like she usually does, her friend knew there was something going on.

“By the Red-eyed hunter, you mean the one that does massacres on the fields and is said to fill the monster collection areas with blood, right?”

“Mm-hmm. That one.”

Mary was one of the employees in charge of organising the records of adventurers directly associated with the association so she practically knew about every adventurer file that was present in this room.

“Haaa… why are you suddenly interested in that dude?”

She shook her head with a sigh, and using another wind spell, she took out a bunch of files from the highest shelf of the third shelf area and placed it on the table before them.

“I met him just now.”

There was a smirk on her face that Mary had seen a number of times already.

They had been ‘friends’ for half a decade now so they knew each other very well… still though, she wasn’t one of her close friends like the three highest authorities of this association tower.

“And? You want to recruit him? Forget it. That one has-.”

“I wanna kiss him.”

“…what did you say?”

A stunned expression overwhelmed her calm look and her hands stopped right before they were going to hand that file over to her.

“What did you hear?” She chuckled at her funny expression and snatched the file from her hand.

She was paralysed after hearing those words, and that was exactly the reason Nolan even said those words.

“I just heard something absurd…”

“Then you heard it wrong, hehe.”

She tucked her light like blond hair behind her ear and opened the file that she had been looking forward to since the last hour…

It had not been long since they met but she already wanted to see that adorable face once again.

“Great, amazing, unfathomable Miss Nolan… you’re going to give me a heart attack.”

“Nah, Mary. You still have to be with me~. Stay with me at least until I get married, I will give you your freedom back after that~.”

“You’re crazy.”

She shook her head at her and used her wind magic once again to place the box back into the shelf.

She knew if this friend of hers was interested in someone’s file, she wasn’t going to return it even after reading it completely.

“Hmmm… he actually is one of the Kromets, alright.”

She was going to take the file with her, and from that look of intrigue she had, Mary knew she was going to take a few more things from here along with this file.

“They were once called the protectors of the northeast, but now only a demonic plain exists there.”

With her deep light brown eyes focused on the file before her, she was scanning through every page and every paragraph of the file filled with magic papers that were more interesting than most things she had read in the last few months.

“Parents unknown, early life unknown, what he did when he lived with his people unknown, and no record before he joined the association with a recommendation letter.”

She was intrigued to know that the person that people thought to be an old man that had seen various darkness of the world that ultimately ended up taininting his soul… was in fact not that old.

‘He’s only two years older than me.’ It was perfect, she thought.

He was attractive, no one practically knew him, there were no records about him but his record as an adventurer was cleaner than the cleanest lake of this empire, and, from what she was reading in this file…

“He’s a good person.”

“Of course he is. I don’t know about the rumours or the truth, but that is one of the purest adventurer records I have seen in my lifetime.
