Tang Xingbang quickly finished writing his report and sent it off.

In fact, this was already the second report he had sent to the higher-ups.

After he sent the first report, the higher-ups replied quickly. They just told him to continue observing and, if possible, to confirm the true strength of Zuo Wenya’s rescue team.

It seemed there would be special arrangements if the team met a certain requirement.

This time, although he still didn’t know the rescue squad’s true strength, Tang Xingbang felt they had definitely met the requirement.

After all, they had dealt with four Fourth Level Mutated Zombies in the dozen or so seconds he was arranging matters. Based on the intelligence he had, such combat power was simply beyond what any expert in the Divine Demon Realm should possess.

Even Admiral Huo Feiteng, who stood guard over the Abyssal Passage, couldn’t possibly possess such strength.

Without using a Desperate Secret Technique like the Life-Sacrificing Strike, it would take him at least a minute to deal with a single Fourth Level Middle Stage Death Claw.

Even so, his strength was already considered utterly overwhelming.

As Tang Xingbang’s mind raced with various speculations, a red file suddenly popped up on the screen before him.

Upon seeing the red file, Tang Xingbang’s spirits lifted, and he hurriedly clicked it open.

In just a few moments, the expression on his face changed several times.

He then took a deep breath and dialed Chen Yushi’s number on his Communication Device.

But to his surprise, the Communication Device just emitted a series of beeps—the call wouldn’t go through. He quickly tried dialing Zuo Wenya’s number, but the result was the same.

It was then that Tang Xingbang suddenly remembered: Zuo Wenya and his team were still underground.

He understood, of course, that they must have discovered something to be acting this way, but he was getting anxious!

‘Why did they have to go down now of all times? Not earlier, not later… I just hope they come back up soon,’ Tang Xingbang prayed silently.

…

Meanwhile, deep underground, Zuo Wenya and his two companions were advancing at top speed. Just as Tang Xingbang had predicted, they had indeed found something.

As the one with the strongest Perception Power present, Zuo Wenya’s Perception Range could reach a full 30,000 meters.

Even underground, as long as his Perception Power followed the tunnels, it was unobstructed by the earth, allowing him to perceive things just as far away.

So, after killing the Blood Worm and realizing there were other Mutated Zombies hiding underground, he casually extended his senses to investigate.

He was surprised to find three Fourth Level Mutated Zombies right within his Perception Range.

One was a Blood Demon digging a new tunnel, and the other two were Hunters moving rapidly through the passages.

After a brief discussion, the three of them immediately decided to eliminate all three Mutated Zombies.

Although encountering danger deep underground would be troublesome, with Lin Xinghai’s Time Acceleration Ability, the situation was entirely different.

The initiative was completely in their hands. They could fight or flee as they pleased.

Besides, even if they were cornered, it wouldn’t matter. Zuo Wenya’s Blazing Fist could easily blast a new escape tunnel.

So, after coming to an agreement, they immediately gave chase. Right around the time Tang Xingbang was lamenting their absence, the trio had already caught up with the Blood Demon.

The Blood Demon was an extremely rare type of Mutated Zombie, its rarity comparable to that of the Spray Zombie or the Shadow Demon.

Moreover, while the Blood Demon didn’t possess much Attack Power, its survival abilities were terrifying. Its body, seemingly composed of blood, could ignore all physical attacks.

Even Energy Attacks weren’t a major issue; it could easily escape by drilling deeper into the earth.

But this time, things were clearly different.

They gave chase, but before they even got close, Zuo Wenya threw a punch. A fist image that seemed condensed from pure flame slammed into the Blood Demon, instantly producing a sizzling sound.

With a single blow, one percent of the Blood Demon’s body was instantly evaporated.

Terrified, the Blood Demon immediately began digging a new tunnel, fleeing deeper into the earth.

This time, as it dug, it also backfilled the tunnel behind it to impede its pursuers.

Under normal circumstances, this method was almost foolproof.

Even a Divine Demon Realm expert capable of Earth Escape might not be faster.

Unfortunately for it, it had run into Zuo Wenya, who was under the effect of ten times Time Acceleration.

Zuo Wenya transformed directly into a Flame Giant. Unleashing his full power, each Fist Gang he threw could shatter seven to eight meters of earth. His punching speed was incredible—ten punches a second. In a flash, he caught up with the Blood Demon and unleashed a brutal barrage.

After Zuo Wenya activated his Divine Demon Body, his Blazing Fist was no longer evaporating a mere one percent of the creature’s body per punch—it was at least five percent.

Just two or three seconds later, Zuo Wenya had beaten the creature’s body into nothingness.

Watching this, Chen Yushi, who was following behind, smacked his lips in envy. His Attack Power was high, but it was all physical. Against a creature that required Energy Attacks, he could only stand by and watch.

“Let’s go. On to the next one. If we don’t hurry, they’ll all get away,” Zuo Wenya said as soon as he was done.

…

Five minutes later, the group returned to the surface, their expressions grim.

In that short five-minute span, they had encountered a total of ten Fourth Level Mutated Zombies.

And they were certain that wasn’t all of them. After all, Zuo Wenya’s Perception Range was limited, and they couldn’t stay underground for too long. They had only been able to sweep the immediate area before quickly returning.

It would be one thing if these hidden Mutated Zombies were the same ones from the assassination mission, simply returning underground to lie low.

But if this was an entirely different force hidden below, the implications were completely different, as it could very well affect the military’s subsequent operations.

That was why they had only scouted for five minutes before returning to the surface, intending to report their findings.

Zuo Wenya gestured to Chen Yushi. As an active-duty officer in the Military Department, it was far more appropriate for him to make the report.

But Chen Yushi had just picked up his Communication Device, not yet having dialed a number, when it began to vibrate violently.

“A call is coming in the second we get a signal… I have a bad feeling about this,” Chen Yushi muttered as he answered.
