Invincible through Touching Corpses

Chapter 680 - 650: Preparation (Part 2)

Besides his Perception Power, his Blood Qi Power had also increased significantly, nearly reaching 4,000.

Without a doubt, this would significantly extend his sustained combat time.

However, the Martial Arts he currently possessed were all incredibly powerful, but every single one was a massive drain on his Blood Qi Power.

Therefore, for Lin Xinghai, no amount of Blood Qi Power was ever enough.

For example, if he attacked using his High Level Shooting Skill, he could burn through not just 4,000, but even 40,000 points of Blood Qi Power in just two shots.

Even so, the Martial Arts that needed upgrading still had to be upgraded.

He spent tens of thousands of the system’s Blood Qi Power to raise the proficiency of his various Martial Arts from 60% to 80%.

If he wanted to continue improving them to 100%, he would likely have to wait until his internal organs were completely tempered. But that wasn’t a difficult task for him; he estimated he could achieve it during this mission.

Among all his Martial Arts, there were two Lin Xinghai anticipated the most. The first, of course, was the one with the greatest killing power: the Thunder God Spear.

He had tried using it once before when he broke through to the Marrow Tempering Realm Late Stage. His proficiency back then was only 60%, yet he could already condense 600 points of Blood Qi Power in a single use.

The Blood Qi Power it consumed was already double that of his Thunderstorm skill.

And by Lin Xinghai’s estimation, once the Thunder God Spear’s proficiency reached 100%, a fully unleashed attack should be able to condense a full 1,000 points of Blood Qi Power.

Keep in mind that his Thunderstorm, which condensed 300 points of Blood Qi Power, already had an Attack Power that reached the threshold of the Divine Demon Realm.

If he could unleash the Thunder God Spear in its complete state, its power wouldn’t just be reaching the threshold. It would be an attack at the Divine Demon Realm Middle Stage, at the very least.

With his various buffs, it might even be possible for its power to reach the Divine Demon Realm Late Stage.

Of course, the old saying still held true: the greater the power, the greater the cost. A move like this was destined to be nothing more than a trump card.

Besides the Thunder God Spear, the second move he was excited about was another complementary Martial Art from his Thunder Divine Body: the Thunder Stepping technique from his Thunderbolt Step.

Similar to the Thunder God Spear, when his proficiency with Thunder Stepping was low, he could only unleash one or two hundred points of Blood Qi Power at a time.

However, as his proficiency grew, the amount of Blood Qi Power he could unleash also increased. Once his proficiency hit 100%, he would be able to instantly convert a full 1,000 points of Blood Qi Power into Thunder Power and detonate it from the soles of his feet.

This would directly inflict 10,000 points of damage and grant a temporary 10,000-point boost to his movement Speed.

In terms of power, 10,000 points of damage already reached the threshold of the Divine Demon Realm. Of course, what Lin Xinghai valued more was the temporary burst of movement Speed from Thunder Stepping.

An increase of 10,000 Speed might not mean much to others, but for Lin Xinghai, who had the Time Acceleration Superpower, it was equivalent to a 100,000-point increase in Speed.

Even if it only lasted for a brief moment, it would absolutely become his greatest life-saving trump card, as well as his biggest asset for dealing with the Abyssal Plane’s current conspiracy.

The problem, of course, was the same as with the Thunder God Spear: a burst like that had a massive cost.

"Now, all I can do is wait until my internal organs are fully tempered and see how much my Blood Qi Power increases," Lin Xinghai muttered to himself as he closed the system panel.

’Now it’s a race to see whether I can get stronger faster, or if the Abyssal Plane’s conspiracy will unfold first.’

When Lin Xinghai stepped out of his room, he saw that many members of the Xinghai Squad were already waiting for him.

The few who weren’t there had either not finished their breakthroughs or were still out gathering intelligence.

"Let’s go. We’re heading to the Mission Hall," Lin Xinghai said, leading the team forward. "On the way, fill me in on the situation outside. And what’s the status of our preparations?"

"Boss, we still need to wait a bit for the equipment, but not for long. Just give me another 15 minutes."

"As for the situation here, we’ve figured it out. There are fewer people in the school district because the appearance rate of Blood Bags skyrocketed after nightfall. Many teams couldn’t resist the temptation and went to the central district to hunt Abyssal Creatures."

"Some teams that aren’t even qualified to accept Third Level Tasks have gone in to hunt, too. They didn’t even pick up a mission," Little Fatty added quickly.

Lin Xinghai nodded, unsurprised. "Have you figured out which areas have high concentrations of Blood Bags?" he asked.

"Yeah, we’ve got it all figured out." Little Fatty opened the projection function on his wrist-mounted computer. "It’s these four zones marked in red. The ratio of Blood Bags in them has reached 5:1, and the density of Abyssal Creatures is also quite high. They can easily accommodate numerous teams hunting at the same time."

Lin Xinghai stared at the map, his eyebrows arching slightly. "What’s your take on this?"

After a slight hesitation, Little Fatty said, "I feel like something’s off about these four places. It seems like... a trap."

"Be more confident. Drop the ’seems like.’ It *is* a trap." Lin Xinghai’s words sent a chill down the spines of Little Fatty and the others who were listening in.

But before they could say anything, Lin Xinghai continued, "Alright, let’s head over and accept the extermination missions for these four zones."

Even though everyone had mentally prepared themselves, they still felt their scalps tingle with dread.

Soon, the group arrived at the Mission Hall.

The Mission Hall felt surprisingly empty. The vast hall contained only a sparse hundred or so people.

Even so, the moment Lin Xinghai walked in, he became the unanimous focus of everyone present.

In the span of a single afternoon, Lin Xinghai had firmly secured the number one spot on the Points leaderboard—a position no one could challenge.

After all, after completing that emergency rescue mission, the Points gap between him and first place had shrunk to just over a hundred thousand.

The extermination missions Lin Xinghai took on were quite difficult. Generally, the reward for completing one was around 300,000 Points. On top of that, the large number of Abyssal Creatures and Mutated Zombies they eliminated would net them about another 100,000 Points.

In other words, they earned a total of nearly 400,000 Points from a single mission.

Of course, other top-tier squads wouldn’t earn any fewer total Points per mission than the Xinghai Squad; some could even surpass them in that regard.

The problem was, the leaderboard was based on individual Points, and individual Points were calculated based on one’s contribution to the mission.

In that respect, absolutely no one could compare to Lin Xinghai.

On every mission, out of the squad’s 400,000 Points, he would single-handedly claim an incredibly high proportion—almost 300,000 Points for himself.

After six missions, his Points had shot up by nearly 1.8 million.

With such a terrifying rate of point accumulation, he not only effortlessly surpassed the previous number one on the leaderboard, Wan Feiyang...

...but also opened up a gap of over a million Points between them.
