Invincible through Touching Corpses

Chapter 663 - 633: Invitation (Part 1)

All eyes were on Lin Xinghai and Liu Miaomiao, so everyone else heard their conversation with Chen Yushi loud and clear.

This was especially true for Ge Zhang and the members of his escort team. They knew better than anyone just how severe Chen Yushi’s injuries were. An injury that would have been an instant death sentence for an ordinary person had become "not a big deal" in Liu Miaomiao’s words.

If Lin Xinghai’s recent display of his Gun Technique hadn’t awed everyone into silence, the two medical personnel inside the vehicle assigned to Chen Yushi would have undoubtedly started scolding her.

Even so, the looks they gave Liu Miaomiao were filled with distrust.

The atmosphere grew tense for a moment, but it didn’t last long—Lin Xinghai was simply too fast. In less than ten seconds, he returned, carrying an Abyssal Corpse Ghost in each hand.

"Qian Xingxiu, immobilize them. I’ll go catch a few more," Lin Xinghai said, tossing the two Abyssal Corpse Ghosts toward Qian Xingxiu.

Qian Xingxiu immediately activated his Superpower, pinning the two Abyssal Corpse Ghosts to the spot.

At the same time, Liu Miaomiao unleashed her Life Control Superpower, extracting the Life Force from the two Abyssal Corpse Ghosts.

Although the dense green toxic fog outside the vehicle prevented Ge Zhang and the others from seeing Liu Miaomiao extract the Life Force, their Perception told them that the auras of the Abyssal Corpse Ghosts Lin Xinghai had captured were rapidly fading for no apparent reason.

This unknown technique sent a faint chill through the hearts of everyone who had gathered.

But their unease was nothing compared to the tidal wave of shock crashing over those inside the vehicle.

The Armored Vehicle’s air filtration system had long since cleared the green toxic fog from the cabin, so they could now see normally inside.

They had imagined many ways Liu Miaomiao might use her Superpower, but they never expected this. She simply waved her hand, and countless specks of green light shot in from outside. This green light was clearly some kind of strange Energy, unaffected by metal, effortlessly passing through the vehicle’s armor.

Of course, if that were all, the onlookers wouldn’t have thought much of it. After all, it was just summoning some green dots of light. Many Superpowers were far more spectacular to watch.

But as these green specks of light floated into the massive wound in Chen Yushi’s abdomen, everyone watched as the organs within—which had been torn to shreds by rampaging Energy—began to rapidly writhe and regrow.

The sight left everyone feeling both unnerved and awestruck.

Normally, Healing Element Superpowers were mostly limited to staunching bleeding and relieving pain. At best, they could help a wound heal quickly.

This ability to regenerate organs was something none of them had ever even heard of before.

Of course, such a sight wasn’t entirely unfamiliar to them. They had seen it before on Mutated Zombies. Every time they watched those monsters rapidly regenerate, they would feel a mixture of frustrated rage and helplessness.

But when it was happening to one of their own, the feeling was completely different. It was pure joy and astonishment.

But Chen Yushi was even more stunned than the others. Given his status, he had seen countless Healing Element Superpower Users, and he knew very well that every type of Healer had their limits.

For instance, using a Superpower to quickly staunch bleeding and close a wound wasn’t actually that taxing for the user. It was equivalent to just using one’s Superpower to "suture" the blood vessels and muscle tissue.

But the Superpower Liu Miaomiao was currently using was practically no different from true regeneration. The Energy it would consume should be on a completely different level.

"What is this Superpower? How are you doing this?" Chen Yushi finally couldn’t contain his curiosity and asked.

"It’s the Life Control Superpower," Lin Xinghai answered. He had just returned with three more unconscious Abyssal Creatures.

He tossed the Abyssal Creatures to the ground as he opened the Armored Vehicle’s door and hopped inside. "Miaomiao’s Superpower can directly extract the Life Force from one target and infuse it into another," he continued to explain. "Once you receive a large amount of Life Force, your injuries naturally heal on their own."

Lin Xinghai’s explanation was simple and clear, and Chen Yushi immediately understood how the Superpower could achieve "regeneration." It wasn’t consuming Liu Miaomiao’s own Energy.

Her Superpower was merely acting as a "conduit." The drain on her would be much smaller that way, and since she was "transferring" Life Force, the effect was simply terrifying.

Chen Yushi also picked up on a key detail. He quickly asked, "So, you’re saying it isn’t just a healing Superpower? It can be used to attack, too?"

"Exactly! And it’s an attack that ignores Defense," Lin Xinghai said with a smile.

"This might be the most incredible Superpower I’ve ever witnessed," Chen Yushi remarked with a sigh.

"That’s not true. Ah Xing’s Superpower is the most powerful," Liu Miaomiao said from the side, a little embarrassed.

Chen Yushi fell silent. ’Both of your Superpowers are monstrously powerful,’ he thought.

In truth, he couldn’t decide which of their Superpowers was more outrageous. In terms of sheer uncanniness, Liu Miaomiao’s was arguably more terrifying.

But Lin Xinghai was no slouch either. He was merely at the Marrow Tempering Realm Early Stage, yet he could unleash the Speed of someone at the Divine Demon Realm Late Stage. Chen Yushi could hardly imagine how terrifyingly fast Lin Xinghai would become once he reached the Body Shaping Realm, or even the Divine Demon Realm.

He believed that once Lin Xinghai reached the Divine Demon Realm, he alone might be worth dozens or even hundreds of other Divine Demon Realm experts—perhaps even more.

Of course, in the current situation, he still felt that Liu Miaomiao’s Superpower was more practical than Lin Xinghai’s Speed Superpower.

After all, Liu Miaomiao’s Superpower was already capable, to a certain extent, of influencing the outcome of battles at the Divine Demon Realm level.

As he thought of this, his gaze couldn’t help but grow intense. He looked at Liu Miaomiao and spoke seriously. "Liu, I have a bold request. On behalf of the Military Department, I would like to invite you to become our temporary military medic."

"Your ability is critical. If you were to go to the front lines, you could not only save more Divine Demon Realm experts, but you would also greatly enhance our ability to sustain prolonged combat."

"This..." Liu Miaomiao’s face showed a flicker of hesitation. She didn’t want to be separated from Lin Xinghai, but she also understood that what the man was proposing was truly a matter of great importance.

Just as she was hesitating, unable to make a decision, Lin Xinghai spoke up from the side. "Sorry. We refuse."
