Chapter 762: Chapter 692: Ghost Wanderer

That little green monster was like a reaper stalking the dark fringes of Skeleton Mountain.

Its purpose was to kill every outsider who intruded upon Skeleton Mountain.

The reason it hadn’t attacked Tu Xiao’an openly was that it must have sensed he would be a tough opponent.

A supreme expert.

That was why it had used Song Ao’s body to launch a sneak attack on Tu Xiao’an.

But against the War Kings from the Demon Management Bureau, it didn’t need to be so cautious. It could just strike directly.

The corpses before him told Tu Xiao’an that the little monster was definitely still hiding nearby, perhaps watching him like a tiger stalking its prey.

It probably wouldn’t let him go. It was surely biding its time, looking for the chance to kill him with a single, fatal blow.

Tu Xiao’an silently surmised this as he scanned his surroundings with a frigid expression, a red glow flickering in his cold, bewitching eyes.

"Come out, little monster. You want to kill me, don’t you? I’ll stand right here and let you do it, if you’ve got the guts."

Tu Xiao’an’s voice was utterly frigid, but his eyes never stopped scanning his surroundings for the slightest sign of movement.

’It’s still here. It must be. It’s just hiding.’

The Red Mist Area severely hampered his Snake King’s Eye.

He hated being watched, hated being treated like prey. He had to force the little monster to reveal itself.

Only when it revealed itself could he kill it.

"Little monster, come on out. What’s wrong? Scared?" A corner of Tu Xiao’an’s mouth curled in a contemptuous sneer.

"Useless trash. I’m standing here letting you kill me, and you don’t even dare to show yourself. How about I give you a handicap?"

Tu Xiao’an clasped his hands behind his back, puffing out his chest.

"You like burrowing into people’s bodies, don’t you? Then come on, burrow into me."

Tu Xiao’an left himself wide open, practically inviting the creature to attack.

On a leaf of a tree shrouded in the red mist, the little green snake was coiled, staring coldly at Tu Xiao’an. Its forked tongue flicked in and out incessantly, and its tiny eyes were unsettling enough to make one’s heart stop.

"Come out! Get the hell out here, you coward! You’re this gutless and you still think you can kill people?"

Tu Xiao’an’s taunts echoed relentlessly.

HISS...!

Just then...!

WHOOSH! The little green snake on the leaf could finally take no more. It shot out, a green phantom soaring through the air as it darted toward Tu Xiao’an like a bolt of lightning.

The moment the green phantom shot out, Tu Xiao’an caught it in his peripheral vision. He raised an eyebrow, and a playful glint flashed in his bewitching eyes.

’A beast is a beast, after all. Not enough self-control. It couldn’t resist my taunts.’

’As long as you’ve come out, that’s all that matters. This Snake Emperor was only afraid you’d keep skulking in the shadows.’

The green phantom was incredibly fast. In less than a second, it was within three meters of Tu Xiao’an, its serpentine mouth gaping wide to reveal the fangs within, aimed straight for his chest.

"Freeze!"

Tu Xiao’an’s Consciousness Power bore down on it.

The unbelievably fast green phantom slowed abruptly, revealing its true form.

"Hmph, if you’re a real snake, I’ll abdicate my throne as Snake Emperor to you," Tu Xiao’an said, still surprised as he got another look at the little green monster.

It looked just like a small green snake, its body smooth and translucent—truly extraordinary.

But Tu Xiao’an knew it was definitely not a Snake Species.

Now that he could see the little monster clearly, Tu Xiao’an whipped one of his hands forward from behind his back and swatted at it. A sharp crack split the air, testament to the power of the blow.

The little green monster was startled but not panicked. Instead, it twisted bizarrely mid-air, forming an arc that easily dodged Tu Xiao’an’s slap before it sank its fangs into his waist.

KRAK...

The little green monster had used this exact move to bite through the bodies of countless victims, burrowing inside to kill them from within.

Once its fangs locked on, a strange light gleamed in its eyes. It was delighted, thrilled.

Another outsider was about to die at its hands.

But then, the little green monster was stunned. It had assumed this delicate-looking man was done for, but its bite revealed his skin was so hard that the impact made its own fangs go numb.

It quickly realized it had bitten down on a layer of terrifying snake scales. These scales were incredibly hard.

It knew this was bad, but before it could retreat...

SMACK! A large hand descended again, snatching it from the air!

HISS...!

The little green monster shrieked.

"Little guy, you want to kill this Snake Emperor?" Tu Xiao’an sneered, his gaze cold and impassive as he looked at the small monster in his grasp. "You’re still a long way from being qualified."

If it hadn’t ignored his Snake King aura, Tu Xiao’an would have found it impossible to believe the creature in his hand wasn’t a snake.

It looked exactly like a snake.

"Hmph. Let’s see what you really are." Tu Xiao’an stared intently at the little monster in his hand.

"Ding... Ghost Wanderer, a mutated Exotic Beast from the War Relics, Level 34."

The simple data materialized, and Tu Xiao’an was slightly shocked. ’This little monster is only Level 34?’

Ghost Wanderer.

As the name suggested, it would wander through your body, and you would become a ghost destined for the Underworld.

A mere Level 34 Exotic Beast had managed to easily kill a group of War Kings, including High Rank War Kings. Even the War God Song Ao had died at the hands of this little creature.

But as the saying goes, it is easier to dodge a spear in the open than a hidden arrow. This little creature relied on sneak attacks and its incredible speed. Once it bit you, it would burrow directly into your body.

This left its victims with all their power but no way to use it.

"I imagine quite a few experts have died at your hands," Tu Xiao’an said, his killing intent palpable. "Now, it’s time for you to pay your debt." Whoever this demonic creature targeted was truly unlucky.

But in targeting Tu Xiao’an, its own luck had run out.

"Disappear." Tu Xiao’an squeezed his hand, and the little green monster let out a mournful, ethereal shriek.

He crushed it into two pieces. The front and back halves of its body fell to the ground, leaking a conspicuous green blood.

’Huh? Even its blood is different.’

Tu Xiao’an prepared to incinerate the two halves of the corpse when suddenly, the little green monster’s upper body stirred. Its eyes flew open, glowing brightly.

SWOOSH...!

With only its upper half remaining, a ferocious light glinted in the little monster’s eyes. It suddenly opened its serpentine mouth and lunged at Tu Xiao’an again.

"Well now, impressive," Tu Xiao’an remarked, slightly astonished. He reached out to grab it again.

The little green monster’s eyes flickered, and it seemed more than happy to charge straight into Tu Xiao’an’s grasp. From there, it could bite his palm, and if it broke the skin, it could burrow inside.

KRAK!

It was a perfectly fair-skinned palm, but just as the little green monster sank its fangs in, a layer of iridescent snake scales appeared.

It couldn’t bite through them at all.

If it couldn’t break the skin, how could it possibly burrow into the wound?

"Nice try. I’ll give you points for effort," Tu Xiao’an said, once again gripping the bisected monster in his palm. "But running into me was just your bad luck."

This time, he didn’t squeeze. Instead, a plume of Flame wreathed his palm.

HISS...!

The little green monster shrieked hysterically, but within the Flame, its body rapidly melted away until nothing remained.
